Gravity Rush 2 demo is live

Gravity Rush has the best feeling flight of any game that i've ever played - so much so that one of the only ways i've been able to describe it to people is dreamlike.

I'll be in on 2 so hard. That's so Raven special edition pleasethx.
"Dreamlike" is what it is like for me too. I just think of being able to close my eyes and do what Kat is doing. Falling without a care in the world. If only...

The extra combat additions weren't quite what I'd hope for but hey it's something.
Happy that the stasis field seems more viable though.

On the whole that definitely felt like more Gravity Rush.

Didn't think to check but in Lunar Mode in the demo is the ability to do what's in the gif possible? I'm thinking it might be a skill needed to unlock later instead of out of the box.

Coming straight from super fast gameplay at 60fps in Near into this was rough. I got headache right away. It felt like it has frame pacing issue. I could be wrong though.

I think they really should have tried targeting 60fps for a game that depends so much on movement. I had headaches playing the first Gravity Rush on Vita. Not looking forward to struggling with that again when I play this demo later.

Demo crashed as soon as I was hit by the rocket.

Also before that I saw a freeze for five seconds with broken sound.

Hopefully it will be fixed.

It's okay. Doesn't have the same charm as the first one and the combat is pretty much the same, which is a disappointment because its the thing that held the original back due to it being repetitive.

Looks gorgeous though but yeah, under $15 on sale for me now. Hope those invested do enjoy it though.

Best wishes.

Played 10 minutes of it, that was enough. Felt more charming than the original, if that is possible. I like the little sounds the characters make -- Syd's grunts, her little giggles. The kicks feel more satisfying, and the stasis field seems more robust this time around. Cities are much more lively.

I don't need anymore, I'm sold. Hell, I was sold already. I want to keep the game a fresh experience, so I'm opting out of playing the demo further. It was fun to be in that Gravity Rush world again, though. Put a smile on my face.

Game runs at native 1080p 30FPS. This is base PS4 settings, there's a Pro patch confirmation but details on that are not yet disclosed. The demo doesn't have any Pro adjustments to it, so it's baseline PS4 performance all around. Nothing else will be changed such as controls or cameras.

Ah, interesting. I've only played GRR, so hopefully the move to 30fps isn't too jarring. 1080p is nice (I'm on a Slim). Thanks.

Well, at the very least, the performance will be different since this is an old build.

Is performance confirmed to have changed since this demo was made?

I didn't expect to see you here :D

Can you make a gif while doing this

Whoa, she looks graceful here, like she's purposefully jumping forward. My Kat in GRR always looked like she was fumbling and tumbling through the air. Is this new, or was I just playing GRR like a fool?

During gravity slide is it possible to pivot as hard as in the original? I've been trying to figure out the new feel of the slide but I'm failing pretty hard.

Wish they weren't still using the old build. Gives other people the wrong impression of where the game is currently at.

I spent a while trying to figure out how to 'fly' in Lunar form and couldn't get it. Flying as usual just gets the normal tumble.

It's so beautiful I could cry.
Why is the camera sensitivity so high while sliding though.
Moon/Jupiter seem like great additions.

Enjoyed the demo somewhat but coming off the fantastic Nier Automata demo, it felt like a lesser experience in terms of the combat and action.

The 30 fps mixed with the all over the place camera kind of was nauseating after a while.

Yeah after the amazing nier this felt just glitchy and frankly, bad

Will skip for sure

That is in her Lunar mode which is a new form in Gravity Rush 2.

Awesome. Lunar Mode appealed to me the most when I casually learned about the different modes, and that GIF makes me think I'll really like it.

Camera's a bit finicky and can get stuck in some very odd positions.
All in all it feels like usual sequel progression. Everything about the first fine tuned a bit, some new stuff and powers and a fantastic looking new world to play about in.

It doesn't really feel like they put much effort into tightening up the mechanics from the first game before adding more. The aiming is still very finicky, and the traversal movements still don't flow as smoothly between one another as I was hoping. I guess that as a big character action fan I might have unrealistic expectations. I bought the remaster on PS4 and stopped playing after a couple hours because I found the mechanics frustrating and difficult to fully engage with, and I don't see anything here that makes me think the sequel will feel better for me. Obviously a lot of people enjoy it and probably think the mechanics are great, so it's just a personal preference thing. The environment and tone seem lovely, and the art/characters are definitely endearing.

I don't know where those few opinions that the game controls worse than the 1st are coming from. This feels just as intentionally loose and/or accurate as you make it.

I'd even say the free falling is more fun in this one. Can't wait to get my hands on the full game so I can stop hitting boundaries

The only big difference is the framerate, which coming off the Remaster does take a while to adjust to (like even beyond the drops in this build). Don't even care though. Very excited for this.
