Ariana Grande (hugely famous musician) joins the battle in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

It is a made up issue. When was the last time you heard or saw something everywhere. Where something has become so popular that you can't avoid it? Who, if not her, is dominating your music listening? Chainsmokers?

The only thing I can think of recently that was everywhere and was hard to avoid was Pokemon GO. And even then, you didn't have to partake in it. It was just everywhere.

There's no point in continuing. If you can't see both sides I can't make you see it. It's fine if you guys like her. No one is saying OMG DON'T LIKE HER! Just over exposure is something I'm not into. We're already over advertised to enough in daily life.

We're not challenging you not liking her. We're challenging this notion that something popular is dominating your life. In an age where people rarely listen to the radio or watch TV anymore, in an age of spotify, an age of custom playlists on your phone and bluetooth speakers, who are these people who are covering their ears going "AAAGHGHH FUCK! I CAN'T AVOID THESE POP STARS!"

8 pages of y'all hatin'.

I don't see any of you in a Final Fantasy game...

The design is pretty good actually. We'll see if she puts in work though.

I love Broad City as much as the next person, and IN THAT SHOW, I liked it. But I fucking hate how it's permeated meme culture.

Am I misunderstanding something, or did she actually refer to herself as a "pretty lil thing"?

And "holds her own?" As if every person in that room wasn't acting on their absolute best behaviour in her presence?

Social media was a mistake.

i've found a few good clouds for ya

You're taking that way too seriously

So... it's a joke?

lol she is just some pop singer. It is not like she is Shigeru Miyamoto or something.

C'mon. I couldn't give the slightest shit about Ariana Grande or anything she does, but put me in a room with her and you bet your ass I'll be super polite. Most would.

Lol yes, just her basically joking about she looks out of place in that photo

At any rate, it's definitely not worth overanalyzing, much less using that as an example of social media being a mistake lol
It is a mistake though ;D

Maybe in the Americas.

The rest of the world is going: "Who?"

She's the 21st century Mariah Carey

Ooh ooh!! I actually know her, Break free(thanks Google) vid is awesome.

And GAF needs to learn that many people don't care about whatever is hot now. Many of us have our own things we like and even if you are introduced to something new it doesn't mean that we will care then or even bother to remember it. The world is way to big a place to bother with everything and that means this young Puertorican woman isn't even on their radar.

She isn't on mine that is for sure but that particular video is. I've gotten what I need from her, 4 minutes of smiles, I don't need anything else.

Me. I can't escape the radio at work and I'm woefully outnumbered by the people who want to listen to the shitty top 40 station. I hear Ariana Grande's song about once an hour.

I hate this station so fucking much, I bet I've heard every "big" 2015 and 2016 song more than I've heard true fucking classics like Unchained Melody over the course of my lifetime.

Wow... people is so full of sh*t...

No need to be rude if you don't like or are ignorant to who she is or what has she done.

I don't like her music, bur it's no reason to act like an ass

Oh and btw, to those asking "who?", use google, nor that hard.

Lol in the same vein, it gets tiring to hear "Who?" on GAF for basically every celebrity that has nothing to do with gaming, especially the ones that are actually very famous. Like a simple Google search would tell you who Ariana or anyone else is, but apparently it's cooler to not know, or even feign said ignorance.

Like if you legitimately don't know who people like Ariana Grande or Serena Williams (saw this the other day) is, I won't hold it against you. There are a bunch of celebrities I'm unfamiliar with myself. But I also don't feel compelled to say stuff like "Who?", only to then get subsequently accused of living under a rock, or suffer through multiple snarky comments, when I could've simply just looked up said person's name and saved myself any potential snark or embarrassment.

Why are people asking this?

I don't remember people asking if GACKT is an FF fan when it was announced that he'd be in Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core: FFVII.
Gackt's involvement with Final Fantasy started with FF8. He claims he is the inspiration for Squall. Let's not talk about Gackt Cloud.

I would say work is the only exception. Or if you have kids that like em. But again, if not her, someone else's music would be overplayed. So it's weird to go "I'm glad I got out before she got popular even though I never heard of her." when it was likely you were already listening to someone else's overplayed song.

Hey, I was doing just fine before I met you.

I mean he can claim all he wants but at most his outfit was inspired and that's it. Squall is based off River Phoenix.

Who is this? *checks*

Oh, I remember her. Didn't she play a well-meaning idiot in Icarly or Victorious on Nickelodeon years ago? I thought she was cute.

Wouldn't recognize her music though, so as far as her showing up in this game....ok. Gackt did it.

Well, yes and no. Before Ariana Grande it was someone else. Rihanna, G-Easy, Bieber they all get overplayed on this station.

But I want to make one thing clear, I don't hate them, I hold no ill will towards them, I don't know that they even want their song played every hour and I, sure as hell, doubt they want me personally to hear their song 10 times or so a day. No, I hate the shitty state of radio these days. People tell me, "well if we listened to your station we'd hear the same shit every day too," which is only half true. I can guarantee you my station would play Journey but which Journey song is a toss-up, it will not be the same Journey song every hour assuming they even play Journey that hour. But these shit top 40 stations, damn, they won't do another song by the same artist, not even from the same damn album, so I hear "Work, Work, Work" every hour on the hour as if Rihanna's done nothing else ever in her career over the course of months. I'm not joking when I say take any recent top 40 and I've probably heard it more than any of my favorite songs from before the 90s. That's no exaggeration, I'm willing to bet money it's true. That's how overplayed today's music is.

But it's not the artists doing that to me. It's the shitty stations and my shitty coworkers who can't even compromise by switching things up once in a while.
