Yaaas getting the wii u version.WII U version is releasing on the Same date
mostly looks great, but cant help but worry about framerate, and some of the bland looking textures that were shown again. Hype tho.
As happy as I am that I don't have to buy a whole new console on day 1, this is a mistake nintendo, a fucking mistake.
This sounds awful. The need to be tryhard edgy attitude people like you have is a bigger thing holding back the "games as art" than anything this Zelda does
I thought the voices were okay except for Zelda which was bad. cant wait to hear tingle.
optional motion control?
I'll say this.
We better get an option for the Japanese VA. The english sounds terrible.
- 2nd Quest where you play as Zelda
Where's the male representation where dudes just need to cry into women's arms sometimes because jeeesh aww it's just so HARD
man i took that fog off from the shot and i think it looks better...dont get why they make the game so muggy.
anyways, compressed as fuck shot direct form youtube.
The soundtrack for this trailer had the strongest Studio Ghibli vibes... just wow!
Meh, it was a cool trailer for a Nintendo game but this trailer I feel epitomizes the issue with Zelda- its one step away from becoming a legitimate, dare I say meaningful example of games as art, but Nintendo always holds back- like this trailer shows great potential, but the art-style of the game combined with the inevitable E10+ rating just goes to show how Nintendo is still targeting a "kiddy" audience as opposed to the core gamer.
Imagine if this game had an aesthetic that's like a cross between Witcher and Dark Souls, with a story in which Zelda is NOT a damsel in distress, one that embraces the darker aspects of Zelda lore rather than burying it- with a darker and mature tone, this franchise could truly become something else, like the videogame equivalent of Lord of the Rings or heck, without even needing to go crazy, becoming the videogame equivalent of the Avatar cartoons.
I just feel like Nintendo devalues the artistic and emotional aspects of their games, they still seem to think of videogames as toys as opposed to an artistic medium.
This trailer was the best thing they could've shown, like holy fuck is it good.
So many things are pushing me away from buying the switch day one but this drags me in more than anything.
I'll say this.

Sorry but thats the worst looking zelda. Though everyone looks bad to me.
Princess Mononoke is more art than any M rated dark gritty gore fest ever made, and that's a cartoon (whose art design this game draws heavily from).Meh, it was a cool trailer for a Nintendo game but this trailer I feel epitomizes the issue with Zelda- its one step away from becoming a legitimate, dare I say meaningful example of games as art, but Nintendo always holds back- like this trailer shows great potential, but the art-style of the game combined with the inevitable E10+ rating just goes to show how Nintendo is still targeting a "kiddy" audience as opposed to the core gamer.

Are you kidding? I much prefer this. Please Nintendo stay away from the Dark Souls or Witcher aesthetic.
You really think this game is one step away from being considered art because it doesn't depict a realistic art style? This game literally oozes art and originality. Why should we want more of the same just from Nintendo instead?
Switch is £280 in UK. Wii U version of Breath of the Wild for me, then. I just hope it runs well.
"Darker" and "mature" doesn't make something more artistic. How do you feel about Pixar films? I sure consider them works of art with much more depth than most of your references. Nintendo falls into a similar ballpark for me. No, they don't seem always strive for a narrative as deep as Pixar, but their elegance and mastery of making games that are fun to play definitely make them artistic leaders in their medium.Meh, it was a cool trailer for a Nintendo game but this trailer I feel epitomizes the issue with Zelda- its one step away from becoming a legitimate, dare I say meaningful example of games as art, but Nintendo always holds back- like this trailer shows great potential, but the art-style of the game combined with the inevitable E10+ rating just goes to show how Nintendo is still targeting a "kiddy" audience as opposed to the core gamer.
