I've played a few hours and for me the game is a surprisingly good combination of Outlast and Alien Isolation.

Honestly I would prefer if this game wasn't a part of the RE series, because it would allow them to ditch stuff like using item containers or finding statuettes for the doors. I mean seriously, who constructs these things to keep the doors locked? I would understand if this was some eccentric's mansion, but not in any other case.

So, uh, exactly when will the game release?

Both EU and US PSN store says january 24th, but we are in very differen timezones.

Will I be able to play the game earlier if i buy it on US PSN?

What I'm saying is that items magically moving between chests and 'open this hillbilly house door with an eagle statuette' puzzles don't fit in this game (in my opinion, of course). It's kinda like with RE4 and 5 where you weren't allowed to run and shoot. They held off to this archaic gameplay mechanic for too long and imo chests and keys/statuettes puzzles should also disappear or at least become more believable (like for example they could add one chest per one location and you would have to take everything you need from it before proceeding to the next area... or they could simply allow you to leave things on the ground for later).

Thanks BossDarkseid - I have something else ordered so it could be that, but weirdly I got the dispatch email from Shopto Saturday night, so was expecting it tomorrow morning..

Forgive me if I repeat anything anyone has said; Been playing the game since Sat night, not as often as I'd like since I have a 2yr old but I stayed up pretty late tonight (dammit).

I like it, although I'm in the middle of playing it and don't know how far in I am (3hrs 39min of game time played so far). This game has atmosphere and I feel a level of anxiety I haven't felt since 1 or 2.

Puzzles make it feel like classic RE(
so much so the main character even says "who comes up with this shit?!"

Certain gameplay elements encourage you to hide instead of fight and adds a level of tension that I didn't know I wanted in an RE game. It's a welcome break from being the badasses that Leon and Chris have become, believe it or not.

I'm fine being a dad gamer and used to playing games late night but dammit if this game doesn't make me miss the single life of playing whatever whenever I want. Gonna be plenty of late nights with this.

My shopto order was dispatched saturday....Royal Mail though, so not expecting it today 😞

Ah, I'm probably in the same boat! There's a chance it could be something else and in the photo of my package on Shopto it does say Royal Mail First Class. Guessing it's just DPD for larger stuff and not games.

Room mate will be home at 230 so will find out then I guess.

No no no. Go and Play Resident Evil Zero. RE7 is Fantastic and it is easy one of the best resi Games because it Uses Resident Evil mechanics like the Box

Yep! Fingers crossed for the both of us, I'm working from home today funnily enough so if mine comes through I'll let you know. Not too hopeful though.
