Where, oh where, is the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller?

I DM'd NOA on Twitter about the Pro Controller and, of course, they didn't respond. It's bullshit, this manufactured scarcity.

They mostly never reply to anyone through their Twitter account. You are better off sending them an e-mail through their support page and getting an answer, although it will be a "Thank you for your concern" ready ones and not a real one lol.

Aren't we going a bit too far with the manufactured scarcity "conspiracy"?

I mean, the goal of manufactured scarcity is supposed to be the generation of an image of the product being successful by being sold out, right? But the controller was never available, so it makes no sense.

I tried on Amazon JP and the order wouldn't go through - canceled it immediately after it went through without explanation. When I tried to re-order it revised quantity to zero citing "limited shipping quantities".

This thing is going to be impossible to find, isn't it?

What earthly reason could Nintendo have to supply constrain their controller?

I would like to believe that Nintendo is holding out amid internal discussions about lowering the price to a reasonable level.

I fully realize the actual reason is just NoA gonna NoA.

Cross post!

I went ahead and ordered the Pro Controller from Amazon Japan. I assume it charges through USB C, but does anyone know if it comes with a charge cable? Does the charge grip come with one? Can't seem to find anything.

If it doesn't I am gonna need to pick up a cable or I will have no way to charge the thing.

Thanks.

I read that the Pro Controller had just passed through the FCC and that might account for the hold up in preorders. Wonder if there's any truth to that.

For anyone looking for a source on the above posts, an eagle eyed Redditor scanning FCC filings found NOA only just got clearance on the Pro controller a day ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...d_fcc/?utm_source=amp&utm_medium=comment_list

This is the first credible explanation for this insanity, as they can't legally sell in the US without FCC approval.

Really suggests they're rushing this launch out of the gate...
Would this maybe have something to do with the recent change of power? I could atleast understand that being the case for a slowdown in approvals. Though maybe something else came up or Nintendo submitted stuff late?

Where you're reading this from is irrelevant. The topic is still North American availability of the Pro Controller. That's where people can't find them. That's the reason the thread was made.
And yet that link highlighted the availability of the Pro Controller from Amazon UK, which I'd been waiting for and used to place my order.

Get over yourself.

Well, that would seem to answer the question posed by this thread.

Hopefully this means we'll start seeing preorders come up soon.

As far as I'm aware, a change in administration only affects the people at the top: in this case the head of the FCC. All the people under that person keep their day jobs, unless there's some new mandate from the administration.

The controller went on sale kn the UK. The point here is that it has yet to go on sale here.

The Pro Controller went on sale in Germany shortly after the Switch announcement and is easily available i.e. through Amazon.de. I'm wondering why this isn't the case in other countries o0

Some of you need to take off your tin foil hats for a second. Jumping to conclusions based on a reddit post is ridiculous. We don't know when they filed for approval, how long it takes, whether it was rejected, or anything really. Certainly not enough to imply a rushed launch.

These are fair points, but the fact remains that FCC clearance happening this close to a major company's product launch is unusual. Every piece of hardware with communications/radio tech goes through these hurdles, with the possibilities of rejections and delays - it seems like something unorthodox happened here, based on the admittedly patchy info we have...

It doesn't, lots of things could have happened that delayed the FCC approval, literally a lot of thing

It's not worth getting anyway. From trying it at the Switch event, I found it very "third-party" like, with the feel of it, buttons, see through top casing. The Joy-Cons together felt great, will stick with that. Actually prefer the WiiU Pro Controller over Switch one.

Finally some sort of explanation at least
Of course it didn't come from Nintendo though
Was it really just too hard for Nintendo to announce this simple fact

Dang. That's the most negative impression I've seen. Guess I'll just stick with a charger grip for now. Really don't need to spend the extra $40 anyway since we're planning an expensive vacation this summer.

When you say the Joycons together, are you talking about the grip or dual-wielding?

Eh...I don't know about that. Phones routinely pass through the FCC pretty close to their launch.

I guess it's time to keep an eye on Amazon for this today.

Said this already in the other thread, but I would like to cancel my Japan order and just get it at launch from Amazon US.

Why it gotta be so hard to give Nintendo money?

Calling it now
eBay is gonna make more money from the switch launch than Nintendo

Best controller thread I could find.

I have no idea what I bought apparently.

1) What color wrist straps come in the neon Switch bundle?

2) Do wrist straps come with the $80 joy-con set?

Here is the contents of the box from both versions.. In other words.. grey, and I am assuming that they do because everywhere I've looked, pictures indicate that the set includes them.
