I would play the hell out of a Mordor 2 but I'd prefer a Batman game with the Nemesis system.

But would you play it because it is a LotR game or because you liked the gameplay in Mordor? I can't help but feel Middle Earth irrelevant as a license at this point.

It's def irrelevant to me. Even though I am tired of Batman I'd still rather play one with Nemesis over orc-killer simulator.

I think the IP is probably pretty valuable, at least when used well. The first game did almost nothing with it though. With some slight changes you could have easily tossed in in any generic fantasy setting.

It would still be relevant if stuff like The Hobbit hadn't shit the bed, and if we started getting games on the scale of Shadow of Mordor sooner and more frequently, like the Arkham games.

One thing that amazes me: game studios copy the shit out of other games' mechanics. WB itself copies Batman Arkham games fighting mechanics on all their games (Mad Max, Shadow of Mordor).

Then why the hell don't studios copy the nêmesis system? That was the greatest achievement and innovation of Mordor.

Were there any rumors about Shadow of Mordor 2, or was it just that one stuntwoman who listed it on her resume, then later said the info inaccurate and that she never worked on it?

Jason Schreier of Kotaku has confirmed its existence on numerous occasions.

That's a Batman logo, for sure. And color scheme.

I hope the Damian Wayne rumor isn't true. I'd take a Terry McGinnis Beyond storyline any day over that.

Also, completely agree that I am Tolkeined out at this point.

Fuck Damian Wayne from now until Bruce stops recruiting kids and teenagers in a fight against crime. I want DC games but Son of Batman could get canceled tomorrow and I'd shed not one tear as long as everyone kept their jobs. Stop making Batman shit.

I hope this is Shadows of Mordor, and I hope its better than the original, which ended up being quite fun at the end.

Shadow of mordor 2 with completely revamped combat system to make combat much more difficult (so that you can actually get a nemesis) revamped Orc infiltration (get rid of ugly slavery justification, you raise your own armor of good orcs to infiltrate and take over clans) large scale battles between orcs loyal to generic protagonist and evil orcs

Enough people, apparently.

Was it even that good? People seem to think so.
I did not like open world games prior to Mordor, now I do. Bonus: I also did not like the Lotr universe before.

Edit: My vote goes to Mordor 2, although a Batman game would also be nice.

Wow, Shadow of Mordor is only a little over 2 years old? Fuck, it felt like it was five years ago to me. I wonder why.

Considering the announcement is in March, maybe they will announce Mordor 2 for Fall 2017 on PS4/Xbox One/PC/Switch and that the original Mordor will hit Switch in April/May 2017.

Or it could be another Batman game. That is very likely and wouldn't be shocked if that was the case.

I'll go with Mordor 2, seems like it's due.

I'm waiting on season pass pricing just for a laugh, WB will probably take it to the next level.

That looks like Batman to me.

I haven't even got around to playing the first Mordor yet. It just sits in my Steam library knowing it'll never be played.

That's five weeks out, what's with the teasing recently? Who the hell will remember that in five weeks?

Both, really, but I think I'm in a pretty small minority there. I don't disagree with your point.

Judging by the font this could be the Damien Wayne Batman game or Mordor 2. I think its probably more likely to be Mordor, which I am not hyped for at all. I would much rather see what they're doing with Batman. Origins was awesome, I want more from that team.

Another insider or just wishful thinking?

I'm down for Mordor 2. The first game was fun gameplay wise, if not a bit repetitive, and the game done a good job of making you feel powerful in the end.

I'll also never not take a new Batman either.

If it's Shadow of Mordor 2, I hope they:

Get rid of that 2 separate zone only approach. Do full open world or even, shock horror, go back to multiple levels like in the good old days.

Expand on the Nemesis system, where you can set tribes on each other, Hitman style, but rigging up a range of different scenarios to make it happen.

Totally revamp the boss battles. They were terrible.

The "cracked" WB Games logo is actually the same one used in Arkham City, and I don't think it has ever been used anywhere else. Origins had a slightly different one.
