I've fallen into the Daft Punk rabbit hole

Been going through their discography, goddamn, songs like Giorgio by Moroder, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Touch... Shit is phenomenal.

What other upbeat electronic music is good for listening to? I've heard a few like M|O|O|N, Daisuke, and a few more, but that was a while back. Emphasis on the upbeat, though I don't mind chill songs in between.

You know, sometimes I sit back and think, "I'm so blessed to live in a world where Daft Punk exists. It really makes this whole crazy human experiment worth it."

You should look into their solo work and side projects like Stardust, Le Knight Club, Together, and Crydajam.

It's more on the chill side, but I'm a big fan of Air. (10 000 Hz Legend, Moon Safari, great stuff.)

Also check out Alan Braxe.

Oh my god, Fire by Justice is like some weird electronic combination of David Bowie and Phil Collins I never knew I wanted. 🙌🙌🙌

Breakbot makes music kind of like their latest (less electronic) album, you might like him
dunno, heres some random electronic musicians
DATA (same record label as daft punk)
SebastiAn (same record label as daft punk)
Digitalism (just good)
Shook (his first album is very daft punkish)
Professor Kliq (just one of my personal favorites)

Good man, now give the Alive 2007 album a listen. Their absolute best.

certain dance music is one of the only things that pull me out of a bad funk.

digital love will make me fell better like 80 percent of the time.

I recommend todd terje too. absolutely joyous stuff.

daft punk is real good

it's true that their older albums are way better than RAM but that doesn't mean RAM isn't an enjoyable album

lose yourself to dance is awesome

I've never understood why people don't like Random Access Memories. I want to say that these people are unimaginative and have difficulty with their favorite band stepping out to something different.

I've been listening to Daft Punk since I had to download singles off Homework from FTP servers where you had to upload 1:1 with a 56k modem running at a 28.8 connection. The evolution into what they are now was clear and very awesome.

Random Access Memories is a fucking masterpiece.

I like their harder shit more so I would say Human After All is up there and Justice is a good substitute, make sure it's Cross though cuz the later two albums are spotty.

Side projects are really good too, kinda sucks a lot of them (Together/Stardust) are one-offs though.

Every recommendation here has been made in good taste. Nice, GAF.

My picks are Alan Braxe & Chromeo (although that's more funk than electronic?)

Man, if Daft Punk ever do another Alive show, they'll probably be in their 50s, most of the crowd will be past their 40s, and it'll still be damn amazing.

I love Daft Punk fans that insult people who don't like RAM. Really adds to the conversation.

Listen, I've been listening to Daft Punk since the 90s, I'm 35 now. RAM didn't speak to me, at all. It was just a very boring and predictable album that felt like it was made to appeal to current trends in music. I was really hyped before release, and especially for some of the featured artists, like Panda Bear. The execution was done very poorly when all was said and done. It had so much potential and just ended up being a Daft Punk and Friends album, rather than a proper Daft Punk album.

I love all of Daft Punk's albums. Homework has some amazing house tracks, Discovery took Thomas and Guy-Man's influences and turned them into something new, Human After All is real intense driving electronic rock, and Random Access Memories is a masterpiece that takes the disco and funk stylings of Discovery and turns them up to 11, along with capturing so many human emotions.

Those are all pretty good, but Alive 2007 is the pinnacle of live DJ sets. It has some of the greatest mashups I've ever heard, a standout is the mix of Harder Best Faster Stronger and Around the World, I just love the transition from Steam Machine into Around the World so much, how the lyrics start fighting each other near the end, and how the crowd sings along the whole time.

The Daft Club and Musique Vol.1 1993-2005 albums have some great remixes and weird little songs people forget about, including some of my favorite Daft Punk songs like Aerodynamite and Mothership Reconnection

If you like Daft Punk a lot, then check out some of Thomas Bangalter (1/2 of daft punk) old stuff like Music Sounds Better With You, Colossus, and the remix of DJ Mehdi's Signatune

If you run out of Daft Punk (like I have), then groups like Justice, Televisor, The Reflex, and many others might be able to satisfy your needs.

As for my personal favorite Daft Punk song, it's probably Voyager

Also OP, watch Interstella 5555.

I don't like it cuz I listen to Daft Punk because they originally made music that you could dance to.

Most of RAM isn't that danceable imo and the songs that actually have a beat or melody are kinda boring disco throwbacks for the most part and I say that as someone who enjoys that music. It's immaculately produced but it's a bit of a snooze. They did the disco thing wayyyyy better on Together, Music Sounds Better With You, Verdis Quo, etc.
