Xander and Ryoma were just on the outside of the male top 20, and in the top 50 overall. I would of liked to see them do better too, but they still faired well IMO.

How is fe7 in Japan. Fe7 was the first for most in the west hence more chance of being bias to it but curious of Lyn was carried by us or its global appreciation. Fe7 with the sprites touched up would be day one for me.

This! I would be happy if they just port it with hd visual, 60 fps and all that. More people need to experience the real Fire Emblem goodness instead of the modern FE otaku bait trash that people are exposed to these days.

If another Fire Emblem character got put into Smash, the Smash fandom would be out Sakurai and Intelligent System's heads (more-so than they currently are).
But that aside I'd be all for Lyn being a playable character.
I'm a little disappointed in the number of people who chose Young Ike over Buff Guts Ike, but at least both were in the top 5. Nowi ranking higher than Nephenee, Fem Robin, or just about any other character who cracked the top 20 is also a blight on humanity.
Aside from that, I'm very happy with these results.

Now I felt like an old man yelling at cloud, but the popularity of Awakening and Fates really annoys me. Even if we disregard all the fanservice content, I think the story and writing has been abomination (Fates somehow becoming worse than Awakening wtf), and the gameplay while has seen improvement in certain ways, also taken a hit in the objective designs. Essentially it all boils down to rout. Whatever happen to defense? Seize? Escape? Survive?

Glad they published the full list. I'm not surprised that Gaiden and Thracia 776 were both out the top 100 (Thracia 776 has four in top 300, Gaiden has two both of which placed above the Thracia ones).
Looking back at my ballot my entire lot are out of the top 300.
Femina Hermina (Hermina is actually a real name so as much as I wanted to go eh at the romanisation which was a lot of my early choices...then they went and corrected Murdock).
As for Hilda. She really drags her husband Bloom down, doesn't she? From a game play persecutive she has different Holy Blood between her two appearances switching from Minor Fala to Major Dain. Well at least she has proper stats unlike say, Ephidel (yes I know Ephidel never appears in battle but the sprite you see of him on the map is a generic sage called Citizen).
But from standpoint Holy War has a lot of characters to choose from in the poll but not the most:

The fact needs to be said that Roy can 3 shot that final boss (from 2 range, boss is 1 range) in a 0% growths playthrough (i.e. his base 7 strength)...on hard mode:

Lyn was a cool badass with a cool sword and cool backstory who killed things in the coolest possible way. Hector is better? Mathematically, you say? Don't make me laugh, wake me up when Hector moves so fast he and his seven clones he created from moving super fast beat you up.

I hope in some hypothetical future 7 remake she gets more than base 4 strength though jesus christ Lyn, Guy usually ends up with more STR than you.

Because they attracted the biggest increase in the fanbase since 7. That's all there is to it, really- it's hardly the first time this is happened considering all the real old school fans shaking their fist at these GBA upstarts back in the day.
Isn't Conquest supposed to have all of those map types? I still haven't touched Fates yet, but looking at a list it definitely has Escape and Survive. In which case it's just Awakening following on from Fire Emblem 6: I Hope You Like Seize Maps.

it's 100% fire in Smash.
Lilina was the second binding blade character at 55 in the polls. This game had a heavy international flavoring, JPN 's vote was scattered to the winds.
Tbh, kids who joined during fe7 and fe9 days who don't know jack shit about anything prior to FE6 and shit about everybody else annoy me ten times more.

Tellius characters got a bit screwed by the split. Would have liked to see Titania higher on the list. She's da real MVP.
With all the Ike love, would have expected to see Soren higher up on the list. I'll agree with you that I'd actually like an FE4 remake than a PoR/RD remake. I've played the latter, but not the former.

As far as I can tell, the worst performing Awakening/Fates character is Benny's son Ignatius... who I had to look up as I hadn't unlocked him yet.
