But...

.... please tell me this doesn't mean what I think it means.

So I'm actually curious. Does anyone who has been following this game closely know what exactly the differences are between this and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix?

All I know is that you can now tech throws ala SFIV/V and Chun's super is no longer storable. JWong also mentioned that super inputs were a lot more lenient than in 2X.

I really hope we'll get a classic 2X gameplay mode somehow.

I think people in this thread have already (semi) verified that there is no classic 2X mode, which makes me a very sad man.

We won't know how close this is to the classic until extended tests are done by people, including the pros. Like...
- Does O. Sagat still have the crazy recovery on his Tiger Shots?
- When Claw does his super, is his meter consumed when he touches the wall, or when he grabs the opponent?
- Can Ryu still juggle off his jumping Strong? I'd be surprised if he didn't, it's like a trademark at this point.
- Is Gief's Lariat input going to be classic/2X style (3P/3K) or HD Remix style (a punch + a kick of the same strength)?

I have so many questions... :p

Old characters were absent in the builds shown thus far. Was that build near final or still a wip is the real question I guess.

Awww shit, son. I'm still gonna buy it, because I want to support the Switch and I love Street Fighter II... But my hype keeps deflating.

Well, in some ways it's something new, I guess.

So... MT Framework works on Switch... And the only thing they though to do with it is an overpriced SSFII port with a first person mod.
The same month of UMvsC3 releases.

Portable mode means with joycon attached to the sides of the switch si it makes sense that 2 player would be with 2 separate switches. You can play 2 player in tabletop mode with one joycon each.

The problem here is the fact that you would need 2 copies of the game. It would be great if you could just download the game from the other Switch to play doubles.

For starters, O. Sagat isn't even I'm the game. None of the Old characters are in.

The game also doesn't use any modifications from HDR, so your second and forth points could be answered with: on throw for claw, and ppp/kkk for Gief.

I was following this extremely closely until they confirmed that this is essentially a new SF2 than a reworking of ST. Because of that, my interest isn't nearly as high now.

I can understand the disappointment of not having a good port of 2X in the package but what's wrong with a new SF2? I really want to try it.

Balance. This is not Capcom at their prime. Super Turbo is a special game in that it's evolved so much over the years that things that used to be considered awful are extremely useful (O.Hawk) and players continue to adapt and find new things.

the 1st person view in the video looked like a lame animated cgi. So it is a legit mode?
I dont think will touch this mode more than an hour. Dramatic mode is where's at.

I actually share your doubts but let's not jump to conclusions here. We don't even know the full extent of the changes gameplay wise.

1st person mode is something just to try and show off the motion to your friends once.

Justin Wong's mentioned that the inputs are simplified, if I recall correctly. I believe that applies to both PPP/KKK and 360s.

Most of the details mentioned were over my head; things like specific characters not being able to store their inputs.
