I fought that asshole too. One Noctis had 100% evade and they killed my only mage early on so I just had Chiz use her evade skill and tried to outlast him. I made it to turn 9 then he fire flasked and I lost instantly (because somehow the statuses hit even if the damage doesn't). I hate arena so much.

I'm thinking I may just buy his materia. I'm kicking myself for not getting Sevens who, of course, I pulled after the damn event. Ya never know.

Anyone else notice that the FF2 unit banner (not the exploration event itself) is unusually short?
Per the news screen, the banner ends at whenever "start of maintenance" is next Wednesday.
That's the second thing that is ending early at "start of maintenance" next week. What is going on that is going to be so important? Major client version update? Or perhaps.... maybe.... nope, nope, nope. Not going to jinx the remote possibility by even mentioning it could happen, even if the logic fits.

I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for adding me to friends. Thanks to your high level help I've gotten so much cool stuff. Shout out to Noctis and Xion. You guys made it possible for me to get my ExDeath from 3 star to 6 star. He's still a bit week since I'm rank 23 though hehe

But since this week isn't it, next week will be the missions, trial, etc. So it will be another client update. It will also include the data for the next to King events, Orlandu and Zero2

I'm not buying the "mistake" theory, as that specific timeframe has been used twice now.
I do agree with the rest of what you are saying, though.
There's another reason for this somewhere.
If my crazy tin-foil hat conspiracy theory is correct, it will be almost as good as that.
Now, if that is not a mistake, there are only two realistic possibilities for this occurring.
1) Changing of the banners to end on maintenance instead of End-of-Day Thursdays. (This doesn't make sense at all personally. AND the FF2 exploration event ends at the normal expected End-of-Day Thursday timeframe the following week).

Gumi doesn't think a **lot** of things through in this game. That said, I seriously doubt that gachas are one of the things they don't think (and plan) about constantly. It's their business model after all.
We shall see, though.

To answer your question directly, they won't unless they decided to make a patch note somewhere about this. Given that Gumi didn't when 3*s were normalized, precedent would suggest that they won't when 4 and 5*s are normalized either. Either way, they surely won't advertise either possibility until the downtime when the change happens at the very earliest. It would be bad for business, otherwise.
Conjecture time.... what if, somewhere down the road, Gumi continues the process on Global of gradual normalization? What if Global enters into a situation where 3 and 4*s are normalized, but not 5*s? I suppose it's possible, but would Gumi really be ballsy enough to do this?

I want to enhance Tidus but it would be smarter to save all my precious materials for the eventual op as hell Orlandu enhancement.
Since it will be the next major content block, they could be updating it with the recent JPN Features too. I would not be surprised if they are expanding the game.
They could also be switching the Gacha changes to Thursday.
But I said, there isn't going to be a special gacha.
I would also say, if they normalize the Rainbow, they will announce since people will spend more then.
And on the finale side note, I feel like Wilhem is more likely to get moved up to replace Marie on the Shine and other thing banner than Eileen. He's already pretty normalized without breaking the game. Gumi has been pretty good at breaking apart the banners.
For those that often have FFBE running on their PC for TM macros, consider recording a quick macro for arena too! Since I do the same thing every time (though it'll probably have to change per week) I just hit play when it's my turn and it does it by itself. Maybe I'm just lazy but it's pretty sweet.

Don't really need to save that much considering they usually do these story events so you can get the materials. It's just unfortunate that this story event was buggy so they had to postpone it.
That said, I'm definitely gonna upgrade Tidus because he has more niches he can fill that Orlandu can't. In addition, if Orlandu's enhancements are similar to Eileen's, Tidus can probably deal a bit more damage with Quick Trick in exchange for it being a bit more finicky to chain.

I actually never had a problem chaining quick trick. Tidus was in my arena team and my go to was chaining quick trick with Amelia's disorder. I recently switched over to a status inflicting team with Setzer and 2 Amelia's with Ricosie(30% stop AOE) and it's been working wonders. Anyhow I might just upgrade Tidus quick trick and sword passive since I haven't done any upgrade since Agrias.

I stopped doing 1/2 daily pulls because when you keep getting Rakshasa and crap, you find it better to keep your Lapis. I will be pulling come FF2 banner, at least on dailies. Unsure about how to go about it ticket wise, yet. I would like to hope I can get a Leon. That TM would be sweet for Luneth.

I think the description is correct.
If it is written as Sword and Heavy Armor, then you need to equip both to gain the bonus.
Sword or Heavy Armor means you'll gain the bonus equipping 1 or both.

Not today. It's tomorrow. Banners and Events always starts/ends on a Friday. Unit upgrade sometimes on a Thursday.

I have also gotten better at saving up lapis now, and got a 1000 of them yesterday.

Nice! I'm nowhere near that, but I'm still getting him leveled up. At level 78 at the moment. What gear are you using to get him to 799?
One thing I will say, it is soooooooo refreshing having a unit with a quick attack animation. I've had a main squad with CoD, Lightning, and Yun for a while now, and it is so damn nice to have a dude hop in, slice twice, and get back to their spot with little to no fanfare. So appreciated.
