Seriously! Chris' friend stole the damn movie. That scene when he was on the phone with the bitch was the highlight of the damn movie. When he put her on mute, the entire theater fucking lost it. That movie is ultimately an exercise in catharsis.
But I wonder how that movie plays with certain audiences.
No fucking doubt. That's the double beauty of it.Anyone that was uncomfortable with the movie is exactly who needs to be confronted by it.
I love how when Chris gets free he just handles business, no bullshit
Also I think the older white people in the audience weren't sure when to laugh lol

When Chris got free and went to town I wanted to jump on my fucking seat!
Haha yupAnd the best part was them just driving off. They ain't calling the popo
Glad to they changed some stuff from the script I read.
Chris getting out instead of being arrested is a much better ending. Not only that, but not killing off the girlfriend as soon as they do in the script is a great move.
Cotton in the ears was great. But why take it out? I guess spatial awareness? Other than that... really enjoyed it! Super cathartic ending like everyone was saying. Glad he got his revenge and extremely viscerally as well. All very well acted and enjoyed his friend for the comic relief.
I thought that he was gonna get arrested or killed by the cop they met earlier and I felt so relieved when his friend appeared. Sure it would have provided some deep commentary if they stuck with the original but I also wanted Chris to get out alive.Glad to they changed some stuff from the script I read.

The part in the trailer where Chris encounters the deer skeleton was also cut.I wonder what happened to the brother's weird helmet thing that was seen in the trailer and on the poster in the OP. I saw Chris toss it down from the seat after he flees the house, seems like some stuff was cut?
What were the deviations from the earlier script floating around? GF gets killed in the house and cops shoot Chris or something?

The movie is still good without those scenes. I don't think it was a studio decision.Yup, noticed that too. And does the TSA guy say something like "apparently a whole bunch of brothers went missing in this suburb," in the film?
Ya know, it's just an awful trailer. I feel like the studio screwed Peele because he's a first time director. I am a firm believer in the "only make a trailer from scenes from the first third of a film" philosophy.
In the OT one poster laid out the whole plot and people were still saying "no, the film's not like that at all." I mean, come on, it was spot on, lol.

Lol the ending is so good when the cop car pulls up and then all the dread is gone when its his TSA bro
The GF was still alive and the gun was still on the ground, and neither of them were looking forward, I was expecting the TSA guy to get shot through the windshield right then. The scene was going on waaaay too long, it was great.
I mean a studio decision to make such a spoilery trailer? Most directors don't have any input when it comes to that.
The movie probably didn't suffer from cutting the scenes, I just wonder if there was more going on. It feels odd Chris knocking down the helmet off the driver's seat. Like it was an important object, as if it was established more or was foreshadowing something. The MMA stuff with the brother, Chris' nervous scratching, the mother's tea ritual, the camera flashes, there was so much in the film that was emphasized for later payoff, it kinda leaves me to believe that the helmet thing was supposed to have another connection somewhere.

The Cop Car pull up at the end had me screaming, till you saw airport.

The beginning, did you miss it? The son would go out and kidnap black people. The hell was with the helmet on the passenger seat?
The two black servants were brain transplants of the Grandmother and Grandfather, why did they want to live their lives as servants of the family?
She could have just been kidnapped like the man in the intro. I had the same thought as well, I'd be fine with either explanation. Also, you're telling me that Alison Williams got a black woman to come to her parents house, when I saw that picture that really spooked me because it illustrated her acts in deception and manipulation going across both genders.
Also could have been a way to get closer to their victims since they are black as well (on the outside.) For example, the unplugged phone and wood chopping scenes. That was their home. They probably didn't want to leave.
Seriously. I was internally screaming that the movie better not pull a Night of the Living Dead endingJust got home, liked it a lot.
The cop car at the end was just brilliant with how it played with the audience's expectations. They set it up so well in the beginning too.

Acting like servants? That was the one bit I didn't get. If their transporting themselves into black people, they seem to barely be functional afterwards and need someone to look after them.
I get why they don't leave the home, after a single flash made that one dude freak. But, I sort of expected the process to be more complete.
I think they were servants in just the times they're hosting their next victim. To make things look normal, well, aside from a white family having a black house keeper and lawn care guy.
