DF got the exclusive because they were gonna leak the specs and performance of a Scorpio running at 80% of it's potential, that's why this thing seems/feels kinda rushed
So youre saying this is MS damage control?

lol not exactly, I'm not very eloquent.
Timeline goes like this:
- I received two separate bits of info from separate sources saying Scorpio's dev kit needed June XDK update to hit its launch targets.
- I HEARD that DF or someone was going to leak Scorpio's specs.
- As I wasn't sure whether or not DF or whoever would know about the XDK not being completed, I decided it was time to leak that info as it would become pertinent following any leaks they had. Any assertions that Scorpio isn't hitting 6 TF would've been false, as the XDK wasn't ready yet.
- After posting that, I found out that DF or whoever WASN'T leaking, but was instead collaborating with Microsoft to get a look at the system. I confirmed that info with several sources.
- Finding that out confirmed other bits of info I had about Forza Motorsport 7. So I figured it was time to post it all up.

It's funny how some people says that ms lacks diversity in its line up and then when they develop sea of thieves, it doesn't count because of 'x' reason, state of decay 2 doesn't count because of 'y', crackdown neither. What about cuphead? Nah it's too niche. They always need something else by this logic.
Lacks diversity basically means doesn't have JRPG's. The console actually has a lot of diversity
But jrpg's don't sell on this console. That's the point. And it's not like sony is developing nier or persona 5 or nioh, these are just 3rd party games. MS would need to fund these jrpg's knowing that they won't sell.Lacks diversity basically means doesn't have JRPG's. The console actually has a lot of diversity
Just enough time for Sony to come up with a counter presser for E3 again?

They're going to release PS5. Not announce. Release.
I don't think PS5 is coming sooner than holiday 2019 or 2020. I have nothing but a gut feeling, but, just don't buy that it will.

WutWhere is cuphead btw? Also seas of theives is a mostly social/online experience type of game kind of the issue I and others bring up about their current slate of games. Is all xbox is good for is online? Because that seems to be their primary focus especailly with bringing the games as a service model into their big franchises like halo, gears etc.
Shinobi talked about it a while back I think in the scalebound thread and brought up Phil Harrison and how he changed how people at XBox and Microsoft looked/approached their library.
Want to know why Horizon and the slew of Eastern games that have released are not only getting praise and selling with zelda included? It's because they are games, no mircotransactoins or giant DLC's. Maybe in zelda's case, but the game is so huge it 's 100% optional and a non issue. MS has changed the way they approach games from the 360 days, and not for the better.
Rare shouldn't be making a online experience game, they should be making a great single player game with optional multiplayer if it makes sense. They have such a great history with single player experiences. Multiplayer is something they have experience in, but it pales in comparison to their single player gameplay and creativity.
How many platformers do XBox have? How many narrative style games do they have(until dawn, heavy rain)? How many action adventure games? Only a couple but I can tell you how many third person style shooter games, first person shooter, online multiplayer focused games they have.

It seems like they just don't have what you want and you don't care for multiplayer. How many big multiplayer/coop games does Sony have? Not as many as MS and they don't have as many narrative focused games as Sony and that's fine. Horizon is a hit and getting praised because it's a great game. Microsoft could achieve this with Sea of Thieves in the same way that Ark or Days 2 Die did across the gaming community. They're doing different things, it's not for you and that's cool.Where is cuphead btw? Oh lawd
PS4 Slim(er)? Hardware wise, I very much they even need anything.Just enough time for Sony to come up with a counter presser for E3 again?
I agree this does frustrate, I don't really understand how this perception has spread since they've made many attempts like Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break albeit they were relatively unsuccessful. It's funny how some people says that ms lacks diversity in its line up and then when they develop sea of thieves, it doesnt count because of 'x' reason, state of decay 2 doesn't count because of 'y', crackdown neither. There are many in all genres you mentioned. I could list, but it starts to become a list wars then XDHow many platformers do XBox have? Only a couple but I can tell you how many third person style shooter games, first person shooter, online multiplayer focused games they have.

Wut
Xbox has the best platformer of this generation, Ori and the blind forest, and a sequel is coming.
Narrative style games? Quantum Break, D4. No one bought them.
Action adventure? Sunset Overdrive and Ryse, and no one bought them either.
If maybe people started fucking buying these games maybe we'd get more of them.
Xbox also has Killer Instinct.
Cuphead should be out this year.
Well then....
From excitement to negativity, kinda. A deep dive into what Scorpio is sounds great but what he said about first party just sounds bad. But at the same time not surprising at all. They only have so many studios and Phil said it as well, it's something they need to work on and I seriously hope they do. Goddamn how amazing would that Scorpio launch have been if it had tons of awesome exclusives to offer, plus certainty about a great future in terms of that?
Don't get me wrong, Crackdown can and hopefully will prove itself to be an awesome and great looking game and hopefully Sea of Thieves and SOD 2 as well. At the end of the day though, E3 hasn't happened yet and it would surprise me if they don't have a single new IP next to Halo 6 and likely Forza Horizon 4 next year.
I agree with some articles that believe it happened to have stronger hardware for PSVR. Some say PS4 Pro using PSVR is night and day better than using it with standard PS4.I think that PS4 Pro never only happened for 4k etc it probably happened too to keep the current generation on healthy hardware and to make this gen longer.
The earliest i think a PS5 will drop could be in 2021.
I wanna see how the games look, will we see ?
Was this posted? Another tidbit from Shinobi

I kind of agree with your point on Rare, but eh let em do what they want. They're getting back in and SOT looks good.
I wouldn't pay too.much attention to the comment on first party. It isnt like he has all insider info and knows the projects that are unannounced yet. So yeah, wait for e3 like the rest of us

If Rare put out a Goldeneye game or a sequel, or something like that and made it console exclusive I'd buy day 1!
I mean not to get into list wars but they have games in all those genres if you would just look. I mean Qb,D4 narrative., Ori, max and the curse of brotherhood, kalimba rare replay all platformers . Then you have tycoon games like zoo tycoon and screamride. Come on dude. There's tons of varietyHow many platformers do XBox have? How many narrative style games do they have(until dawn, heavy rain)? Let's try this again, this time without the shitty console warriors. Your behavior in the last thread was embarrassing, and we will be looking through it in-depth.

This is a perfectly valid point. Sony right now is focusing on their strengths, which are story driven single player games, much like Microsoft is focusing on their strengths, multiplayer focused games. Yes the lack of a big multiplayer game is a gap in Sony's lineup, but the thing is, there's so many huge third party mutliplayer games, significantly more than there were when Halo and Gears were at the peak of their popularityIt seems like they just don't have what you want and you don't care for multiplayer. Yah I agree, not sure how good the marketing was for these games though...but problem is MS tried and people didn't buy. Of course they are going to be very cautious to try more of these games. QB was not a cheap game to make and most likely lost em money.
Either way, I don't even know why we are getting into this stuff...thought this was mainly suppose to be about Scorpio hardware?
So you would put Ori up with something like ratchet and clank which is a action/adventure platformer?
I agree with some articles that believe it happened to have stronger hardware for PSVR. Some say PS4 Pro using PSVR is night and day better than using it with standard PS4.
Max was available everywhere though? D4 I'll give you that it sucks what happened to that game.
Ori was great I'll admit. But they dont seem keen on any sequels to most of those or ones that didn't do well like QB, SO and what not.
Like having rare make a social experience type game is weird. I'll eat crow if it comes out with some awesome banging single player expierence, but all we've seen from alpha's is the online stuff being presented as youtube/twitch streamer's dream.
Also QB was really mediocre and so wasn't Recore.
Hoping for Karate Dan in full ginger beard mode, saying how much better Forza 7 is than all the other racing games put together, just like the good old days.
Where is cuphead btw?

Unless someone is super passionate about Halo and/or Gears, there's really no real reason to chose one console over the other. Conversely, while Xbox has had a few single player focused exclusives like Quantum Break, that just can't compare to Bloodborne, UC4, Horizon, etc. And I liked QB quite a bit
Another thing to consider is the buying habits of multiplayer fans vs single player fans. The average gamer who plays predominantly multiplayer games will usually chose one or two games a year and they keep them occupied until the next year. Again, unless it truly means something to someone that one of these games is Halo and/or Gears, it doesn't really matter which console they chose, so they follow their friends. Single player fans tend to buy more games each year, as once they beat the game they are currently playing they go buy the next release. And the undeniable truth is that there's more single player games available on PS4
My point with this is, while Sony doesn't have a big first party multiplayer game, they really don't need to. There's plenty of big third party ones on the platform, just because they aren't exclusive doesn't lessen their value to owners/potential owners of the console. As for single player fans, it's a far better bet to chose the console that in 2017 alone has seen the release of Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza 0, Nioh, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier Automata, and Persona 5 along with Resident Evil 7 and Mass Effect Andromeda, than the console that only has Resident Evil 7 and Mass Effect Andromeda
That is also why Microsoft's single player efforts haven't found much success this gen. People who are passionate about those games are on PS4. People who are passionate about multiplayer games are pretty split between both consoles
I talked to Studio MDHR around PAX East 2017. They didn't make the event since they're busting their asses trying to get the game done. Said we should expect it mid 2017, at least that's what they're aiming for.
Either Jag or something inbetween. Zen would be great, but the price would be insane. I recall Phil saying they don't want to price it super highSo guys, what are your guesses? Will it be Jaguar or Zen? Or perhaps something in between? I'm going with the last one. One person has now said it's not Jaguar, another one said the hardware is very impressive.
