From the studio who region locked Persona 4 Arena COMES:
Persona 5: You've Been WARNED
Persona 5: You've Been WARNED
They do realize that clamping down on this is just going to have the Streisand effect right?
Under notifications you can turn that off. It's super irritating when a trophy pops up and the game has to tell you it can't even do the automated trophy screenshot.
Sucks but we gotta respect their wishes.
Saying the game just plays once is being really dishonest. It's an 80 hour game, there's many games you could beat many times over and not reach that length. if someone can sit through a whole playthrough of Persona 5 they deserve an award in patience.
Is it really about spoilers though? I think they are just framing it that way because it's really about losing revenue to people who will just watch it rather then buy it and play it.
Yeah. I don't think this actually has anything to do with spoilers. More like they are afraid it would hurt sales( which of course it wouldn't) and they are using the spoiler thing as an excuse.

Wow.
How about "I'll do whatever I want with my fucking property that I own"?
Fuck you, Atlus.
As if any twitch streamer is gonna follow this garbage.
Of course not.Is it really about spoilers though? I think they are just framing it that way because it's really about losing revenue to people who will just watch it rather then buy it and play it.
There are streamers that make so much money for Twitch, they wouldn't dare suspend them for streaming this game. They will if people actually get suspended? There isn't a Streisand effect here, folks accounts will get suspended and less people will stream it if that's the road they want to go down.
These people don't exist, or are so small it isn't worth it.
Many games have become as famous as they are thanks to the internet. Atlus is killing any chance of that happening.
Well I wouldn't say they don't exist or are so small, I mean you can't really measure or prove that statement.
For instance I was planning on buying Horizon but I was really busy and didn't have the time to buy it. So I started to watch a stream of it and was really interested in the story so I couldn't stop myself from watching. If there wasn't a stream then i would have been more likely to buy it but now that i have seen the story there really isn't any reason.
Also for story based games its very hard to go out of your way to buy them when you can just watch it online. While your not getting the full personal experience if its a game with choices, it still makes someone less likely to buy it. Its like being able to watch a full movie online rather then going out to see it. I don't really understand why video game media has a different precedent especially when it comes to story games.

Atlus: "Hey guys hope you'll enjoy our game that's all about fighting against corrupt authoritative figures and expressing your true self... now just don't stream it past these restrictive guidelines or else we'll ban you!"

You have nothing to back this up. Meanwhile there are plenty of games out there that are what the are today thanks to the internet.
See: Undertale, Minecraft, etc.
We'll get over it.
It's downright surreal how hard the irony is lost on them.
Or worse, they're completely aware and just don't give a shit.

I don't understand feeling the need to protect individuals that actively seek out and watch streams from spoilers.
If they're watching, they probably don't care all that much. I'm not watching specifically because I don't want to be spoiled.

It's not like it's a decision by the writers and developers.
Well it depends on the game, you can't say that every game will equally be effected. Of course small indie games and online games with communities benefit a lot from streams. That's why you have departments for those specific studios designed to reach of to streamers and twitch viewers.
I mean I am not defending atlus because I watch streams, I can just understand there reasoning. Also again i have always found it very strange that i can "experience" a game without actually paying any money.
