Ps4 GAF: How often do you use Spotify?

All the time.

EXCEPT WHEN PLAYING HORIZON CAUSE IT DOESNT ALLOW IT!!!!!!!
I still can't understand why game developers get to decide if I use the music player.

I used it pretty often back when I had Spotify, usually while playing Driveclub or Destiny. Stopped after I switched to Google Music.

Wish Sony would get that on PS4 too.

I was listening to Bowie's entire discography whilst playing No Man's Sky last year. Insert 'witty' jibe at controversial game here.

Depends on the game. I've had Spotify for about five years now so having it on PS4 allowed me the opportunity to play it during open world games or online games. I typically listen to Spotify when playing FF14.

I have my own speaker for music that I play from my laptop, I've used it a couple times seems very well integrated. So its kinda obsolete for me, but I can see why people like it, especially with the ease of the quick menu and phone integration etc.

My goto for everything that is not narrative-driven.

Especially racing games and super specially Driveclub, because it has a automatic mode for Spotify.

I hate the interface but I do use it pretty often if I'm not playing story heavy games or ones that necessitate for me to hear sounds

Never. I prefer Google Music's algorithm and I'm already paying for that one. I also am not one to listen to music while playing a game, would rather listen to the game.

Nothing lately but I used to enjoy Advanced Warfare and Spotify together quite a bit.

Last two games have been Skyrim and Horizon...their ambience hasn't been something I've wanted to mess with

As someone else said, Driveclub + Spotify = fantastic

Not my PS4, but I use it on my phone and computer. Ad-free music + pretty much any song I want to listen to.

Also, Discover Weekly is pretty rad. I'm constantly adding new songs to my playlist.

All the time. Very rarely on the PS4 though. I play story based games pretty much exclusively and most of the time my own music doesn't really fit the tone of what I'm playing. I imagine it's great for mp/grinding sessions though.

Still, I'm glad it's part of the service. Great to know I have the option of using it if I wish.

I used it all the time when I'd just do time trials in Driveclub, but I don't play it anymore so I haven't used it in months.

Every time I'm playing a Multiplayer or grinding type game like Titanfall 2 or Destiny(except when raiding). There's plenty of amazing video game OSTs on Spotify that work really well if you're worried about immersion.

Only on games I've played to death and can potter about in them with no sound. Binding of Isaac for example. Or open world games I like to travel around in even after completing it but there is a new album out or the like I am listening to. So not often but I use it occasionally. Was bummed Horizon didn't let me though.

I use it during Rocket League, and during OlliOlli 2 because the music in that game is really bad.

But for some reason Spotify has weird sound issues on my PS4/TV. It sounds like when you have an audio cable that is slightly unplugged- it's not in mono, but there is something that is missing, like the middle of the music is listening? Like you get less of the vocals (which are generally in the middle of the mix). Does anyone else get this issue? It doesn't happen on anything else on the PS4, or on my TV in general.

Not on PS4 but on PC, use it all the time when not playing single player story games.

The great thing is being able to use your phone to skip tracks, control volume and playlist tracks while using radio mode.

Before I got an Amazon Echo, I used it almost every single day. The feature was the tipping point for me to stop Pandora so much and finally start library-building in Spotify.

Now that I have an Echo, I use that (and Pandora) more often than not.

Never. I listen to the game and sometimes have YouTube or a podcast running on my laptop. If the music is supposed to enhance the tone of a game, listening to different music could detract from it. But, to each their own.

Never. Kills immersion and I want to listen to the game as the creators intended. I'm not against it, but custom soundtrack stuff never gelled with me.
