I just found out SS outsold Civil War and BvS on home video. Anybody else surprised at how much of a hit SS turned out to be?

The sequel should be put on fast track.

If I liked Flashpoint , which one is a better fit - Justlice League Dark or TT Judas contract ?

Or it is kinda "both" ?

My hopes and dreams travel with Wonder Woman. It's success will determine if the DCEU moves on with more of its class or more Suicide Squads.

eh. Wonder Woman looks like the 4 other comic book movies you get every year now. Just with a woman in the lead.

I hope its a success considering I like the character quite a bit and these movies have been a sausage fest for pretty long now. But can't muster much hype for it. The trailers are good but this all feels so retread now.

for DC my hope is behind JL and moreso Batman right now. Matt Reeves is the best/most appropriate choice for a comic book blockbuster since Edgar Wright imo. Getting anxious to hear details about it once he's done promoting Apes.

Why would you put THAT SCENE back in my head?!

You're just jealous of her skillzzzzz

and Donald Trump deserves to win a second term

Yes, exactly.

But seriously tho PoC Selina would be pretty great. She should also be similarly aged to Bruce, which Berry pulls off. Only real reason not to do it is because of the old movie mess. Don't try and call talent we've all seen the other actors.

Not even for Patty, brother? Guess I'm in the minority, but she really does fuel my hype. Daughter is excited as hell as well..I hope the naysayers are wrong. Note, that I ain't calling you a naysayers before we go through some needles back and forth.

We are now NMEs 😠

I'm rooting for Wondy but I'm also with Disco in his sentiments. WW looks like the other movies we've been getting for the past few years. It's not a deal breaker or anything but it's hard to get excited cuz you kinda know the movie isn't going to surprise you. It will be considered a win if the movie is merely solid.

JL is the one that has my attention and my hopes. I feel like it might be Snyder's last cape movie as well, so I'm just interested in seeing what he does for a swan song.

Echoing the thoughts on Wonder Woman. Expecting a good and serviceable superhero movie. It's great to finally get that for a super heroine, but it's hard to be excited by. Like, in the past decade the only superhero origin movie I cared for was Iron Man, and even that felt it was retreating Batman Begins ground. Man of Steel is a distant number two.

Definitely seeing WW in theaters, though. Probably not opening day.

On DC side my hopes lay in WW. Only after that is well received can I get hope again for JL even though I liked what I've seen.

I think they're both kinda on par with each other. Both enjoyable. If I was forced to choose I'd maybe go with Dark as it has characters you dont often see in movies/TV and it does have a darker tone like Flashpoint.

Yowser.

That's.., extraordinary. I never heard that. Do you have a source for that please?

wot.

I mean, if you aren't feeling WW then that's cool but to say that it looks like anything else coming out this year is absurd. Wonder Woman really plays up the period setting and has a totally different aesthetic to anything else out there at the moment or on the horizon.

I think that WB have been really smart if setting it in WW1 which, for better or worse, keeps it fresh and distinctive. I'd say that even the first Captain America film still manages to make it's WW2 setting feel like every other (Earth based) film in the MCU but WW, albeit from the trailers, feels utterly different from SS and Man Of Steel for example. To me, it has the aesthetic of a 'proper drama' rather than franchise entree no. 3514684.

Ok so there's some confusion with the wording, it hasn't outsold any of the movies, but is selling at a faster clip.

an argument can AND will be made that it was assisted by coming out during the holiday season!

I guess expected but the funny thing is folks seem to pay a premium for the DC flicks.

Deadpool's average is $16.70
Civil War - 18.78
BvS - 20.80
Suicide Squad - 25.39

At least in 2016

Remove Superman and this poster is better

Squad's past $70M now. Pretty much all the proof you need to squash the idea of upcoming DCEU fatigue in reaction to the films released.

Civil War made over a billion in box office money. But the amount of people who actually liked it and cared to bring it home is probably less than Suicide Squad in total, way less when you consider the disparity in box office.

Suicide Squad being so popular is kind of a shame but if people like it, I'm happy for them. Where it gets worrisome is when you get folks at Warners talking up how big the licensed soundtrack business was for it. Rick Ross getting a phone call to make a track for Aquaman. ROZAY.

Eh, i'll give the suits some credit and not think they're that clueless. Licensed soundtracks fit certain properties, Suicide Squad being one of them.

I think a fitting soundtrack could go over well with Flash.
You find MCU threads to troll. You're in no place to "lol" if someone clicks your post history after you do it, especially when you ignore people in the thread calling you out.

Stop the childish crap.

Yes, i'm the one being childish.

Keep in mind, I actually rarely post in Marvel threads. Switched it up a bit recently and made a total of like 5 posts in Marvel threads in the last couple weeks, and gathered a mob already.

Who's the fanboy again?

I don't think doing the same thing you claim he does (which I don't know/care) is the appropiate way of calling him out. Just saying.
