Your favorite non-retro Mario Kart 8 [Deluxe] tracks?

I always love seeing what levels from each Mario Kart game make it into the next one and the graphical improvement that comes along with it. I was wondering what new levels in Mario Kart 8 could end up being contenders for revamps in the future.

So, I will list every new level here, and that includes MK mainstays like Mario Circuit, since they're still new levels that are interpretations of themes from previous MK games.

Shy Guy Falls is my favorite. love that track. obviously Mount Wario is great. I also have a soft spot for Mario Circuit. it's a simple track but it's always fun. as far as the DLC tracks go Dragon Driftway is great, Wild Woods is great, and the two F-Zero tracks are great.

I love the Excitebike Arena as it feels like the new Baby Park.

In terms of actual fave I'd have to go with the first track, Mario Kart Stadium. It's an all around solid track and there's just something about the music that just *feels* like it's a celebration. Kinda like Rainbow Road's theme on MK64, it evokes memories of good times playing the game.

I hope that came out okay as I'm still feeling rough from last night.

Elctrodrome is one of my favorites. The airport also seems like the most iconic level from the game, and I imagine it'll be the most frequently revisited in coming games. It's MK8's Coconut Mall.

Tough choice, but gonna go with Mount Wario.

The non-retro tracks are much stronger here than in MK7, which only had like 4-5 halfway decent new tracks.

Of course, the retro in MK8D are essentially new tracks. Absolutely love the effort they put into the GBA ones.

So many good courses. Shout out to Moo Moo Meadows and Rainbow Road 64 despite being retro courses. Especially for the sound track.

Man, I can't believe I forgot to mention Shy Guy Falls and Electrodome as favorites of mine. Two wonderful tracks. I LOVE the music on Shy Guy Falls, too.

I love that everyone loves Mount Wario. I wasn't sure if that was going to be many peoples' answers, just because it IS pretty different. I would love to see tracks like it in future entries.

Cloudtop Cruise, and I admit a large part of it is down to the music:

The moment you fly into the storm clouds and the music shifts from a Gusty Garden Galaxy-derived orchestra into full on rock, shit is just amazing. Not to mention the course in general is visually gorgeous, being one of the few levels explicitly set off the ground. Also has some pretty creative shortcuts, with my only sore point about it being the ship you have to drive through. Hard angles and Mario Kart do not mix.

Mount Wario is great.

I didn't play Excite Bike until Deluxe but really like it so far.

There isn't a single MK8 course, unless I'm forgetting one, that I don't enjoy though.

Edit: wait Mute City is that Fzero one where it's super fast and the course twists and turns instantly upside and back? Yea that one is new to me too but it might be the best. So fun.

I'd say the only one that I don't enjoy is Dolphin Shoals. I don't really know why, it might just be the hard turn right before the last straight away.

I also really love Hyrule Circuit, especially the jump past the Master Sword that only opens when all three switches in the hallway are hit.

I just love that they incorporated a Zelda staple into a racing game.

Mt. Wario and it's not even close.

Also speaking of Excitebike, I didn't realize until yesterday that the track pieces switch around. Neat little touch. I wish the stage music was longer, I love the bridge before the theme starts looping again.

The stages I'll go out of my way to pick are:

Thwomp Ruins
ShyGuy Falls
Mount Wario
Cloudtop Cruise
Excite Bike Arena
Big Blue
Wild Woods

These are not the stages I'm best at, just my favorites.

Probably Electrodome. It's got such a great style and the music is great and it's fun to race on.

Mt. Wario is also top tier.

All of them are excellent, but if I had to choose a couple it'd be a toss up between Mute City, Big Blue, Electrodome, and Mario Circuit.
The F-Zero tracks still get me incredibly excited when I play them, Electrodome looks stunning, and Mario Circuit has the some of the longest sweeping turns in the game which are really fun to drift through.

They're all retro tracks! teehee...

But seriously, I don't remember the name, but the one in the clouds. All the dlc is damn good too.

Most of the new tracks in MK8 are great, but those are probably my favorites.

Good topic idea.

I can't get enough Shy Guy Falls. It's just too cute with the chubby little Shy Guys humming the tracks music in the background. Driving up and then down a waterfall was a really cool use of the gravity mechanic and the track has a really pleasant atmosphere.

Sunshine Airport is a great example of Mario Kart 8 doing a bit of world building with it's tracks. Lots of little details here and they really captured the look of an airport. I just wish there were some more NPCs hanging around to give it a bustling feel like you expect from an airport. The music is great, of course.

It's gonna be mentioned a lot in this thread, but for good reason. Mount Wario is a damn good track that escalates to the very finale. It's full of diverse hazards, neat shortcuts, and is a nice change of pace from the typical Wario Stadiums.

Those are my top 3, but I love almost all the new tracks in MK8. It's a fantastic selection! One of the few tracks I'm not too keen on but have seen a lot of love for is the Electrodrome. It's an okay track with a neat setting, but there's not much to it. It's a pretty standard track, layout-wise.
