Shit, just realized that both the two-hour finale for this AND the Game of Thrones finale will both be airing on the same Sunday (Aug 27th)... I'm going to be up very late that night.
This finishes on 9/3 not 8/27. Link

Wait...
So after doing an amazing job of keeping everything under wraps, there's a premiere tomorrow? With journalists present, I presume? And celebrities (roll eyes)?
Does this mean it's going to leak before Sunday?

Edit: Hmm. Maybe I can't read.
Live footage of me trying to make sense of the schedule and how a three week wait would figure into all this:Yup, Parts 3 & 4 will air the Sunday after, so it'll only be a two week hiatus if you wait for the television airing and don't watch it on Showtime on-demand.
However, as Parts 1-4 will be available on demand right after Parts 1 & 2 air live, I imagine many (including myself) will be in the camp that watched all four and then the will commence the wait of three weeks until Part 5 airs.
EDIT: Nah, it's all good. The show will air every week until the finale airs in September EXCEPT for July 4th weekend (as Sunday itself is July 4th). But Parts 1 & 2 air this Sunday, Parts 3 & 4 next Sunday, and Parts 17 & 18 will air together as the finale on the same night. But because Parts 1 through 4 are available from the onset, there's going to be an initial downtime for many who binge it.
But it just will be weird to have four new episodes of Twin Peaks to discuss and theorize about. Like that realization to me is surreal.
I think most obvious reading of this scene is that what shes looking at is not exactly an angel but in fact or also a television (there is a dynamic engagement in her affect that cant really be responding to this static angel-figure) and what shes watching is Twin Peaks, crying at her own tragedy and the grief of her friends and family, laughing at the absurdities and the eccentricities of her friends and neighbors, and probably validated by the impact that her murder had on her community. There isnt just joy in her reactions, but great amusement and some raucous laughter. Whatever it is, its certainly the cream of the jest. I think its pretty clear that Fire Walk with Me ends where it began, with television. The closing credits scroll over a frozen close-up of Lauras blissful face, as if the incoherent television snow of the opening credits is now filled up with her presence. The redemption here may not only be for Laura Palmer, but also for the Twin Peaks television series, and even for television itself.
That's still a two week wait though.
May 21st - Episodes 1 and 2
May 28th - Episodes 3 and 4
June 4th - Episode 5
I'm absolutely going to watch all 4 episodes before the third and fourth air on the 28th. Though I don't plan to do it in one sitting. And knowing myself, I'll probably rewatch them too.

First time watching FWWM in a while.
That is one wild, traumatic, nightmare-inducing ride.
The ending is probably my favorite scene in all of Twin Peaks.
And I love this interpretation of it:
Oh, and Sheryl Lee should have been nominated for an Oscar.
Twin Peaks Rewatch is back! Podcast from Idle Thumbs. Really great listen if you're into Peaks.

I reached the 'Josies face in a drawer knob' part of my re-watch.
The worst has passed right?
If the last thing we ever saw was the drawer pull, I don't think we would be taking about Twin Peaks right now.
Wait...

Leak? As in the whole episode? Naw, it's the Cannes (most prestigious film festival in the world). But we'll likely hear impressions from a few people. I'm torn on it premiering.
Also there was that line earlier in the scene about Bob seeping in through a hole in his conscience.
I always felt it was Leland and not Bob that killed Jacques
Has it been mentioned if there are any big breaks in-between the episodes, much like The Walking Dead? Really hoping they don't slice the season into two.
So to be clear, will episodes 1-4 be available for streaming on Showtime via Hulu right at 9 p.m. EST?
It might be that 3-4 become available at 11pm, but yes, all four should be available that night.

You can install Showtime Anytime and they have a live feed to Showtime channels. You can sign up if you're subbed via Hulu.
Is there any evidence to suggest (Laura Palmer's killer spoiler)that Leland had any culpability whatsoever? I find that more interesting, like he had some darkness in him already that made him susceptible to Bob than just that he was some normal, loving father that was possessed

I'm guessing not on the Wii U (believe it or not, that's my main media hub).

I always was under the assumption thatLeland killed Renault at the hospital, not Bob. So at least there's that.

People come to FWWM –and the show itself– now with 25 years of hindsight, dissection and acceptance of the show as an artsy, off beat, unique creation. I can't really blame most people for not knowing what to do with it at the time. Finally watched FWWM. That was really.. Something lol. I can understand why fans in the early nineties would find it frustrating. I really enjoyed it, however, and now I'm more excited than ever for the next season.

For episodes 3&4 apparently you'll need to exclusively use Showtime Anytime site (or app) if you want to see it immediately after the premiere. Other apps using Showtime as a channel will get it a day later.
Source? AFAIK if you have access to Showtime's on demand content, such as through PlayStation Vue, you'll be able to watch it at the same time as everyone else.
I can access Anytime through Vue if I ordered Showtime through Hulu? Good news if true. Was more responding to blanket's situation which can't do that on Wii U.
Uh, well, you probably can't access Showtime through Vue if you ordered it as a Hulu add-on. You would need to purchase Showtime through Vue.
My point is that Vue has all of the on demand content that Showtime Anytime does, so Anytime isn't the only option for watching 3 & 4. At least that's my understanding.
Like, I have an HBO subscription through PS Vue, and I can watch The Leftovers on demand as soon as the new episode premieres 9pm on Sunday.
Watch SHOWTIME through Hulu on many devices, and watch both East and West coast live broadcasts by visiting SHOWTIME Live TV exclusively on your web browser on Hulu.com. Live SHOWTIME isn't available on Hulu mobile or living room devices.
I'm just going to use Hulu, and if the 3 & 4th episode don't pop up, I'll do a 7 day trial of Showtime Anytime.
Moby, electronic musician, activist, author and Twin Peaks fan had to sign a non-disclosure agreement about the show, a reboot of which premieres this Sunday on Showtime.
He couldnt say why, of course, but Moby told reporter Peter Larsen about the NDA at an Orange County Register Book Club talk and signing Wednesday night at The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana.
Are you looking forward to Twin Peaks coming back on Sunday? Larsen asked. Because Twin Peaks has a role in this book as well as one of your songs.
Im very much looking forward, Im going to the premiere on Friday. Moby said, adding that hes good friends with the shows creator David Lynch.
And heres what Im going to say, and you can draw your own inferences from it, I had to sign a non-disclosure around the new Twin Peaks. Why would I have to sign a non-disclosure?
I havent violated my non-disclosure, Moby continued, turning to the audience. Ive simply said that I signed a non-disclosure agreement.
I like the ending of FWWM as well. Have you ever seen Missing Pieces? asking as this scene has a few extended bits in that, though honestly I can see why they cut the extended bits for the final cut as I think the scene works in the much stranger and beautiful way in how it works in the final film after all the morbidity.
About to watch the season 2 finale for the first time. I got hyped reading about its greatness. Hopefully it's Eastbound and Down finale level!
A bit of a different vibe.Hopefully it's Eastbound and Down finale level!

Not saying that they are similar in anyway. But the Eastbound and Down finale was fucking gold. Went off the rails before kind of shitting the bed. That is...a weird comparison
