Sean Hannity's losing his fucking mind & not even Fox can handle it.

Running theories:

He's been told he's gone but they'll ride out his contract, so he's acting a fool to get bounced early

He's part of the Russia thing

He knows they won't renew his contract so he's going HAM to build more cred with Trump and the alt right. Guessing he'll move to Info Wars or do his own thing (YouTube, podcast).

When he's let go he'll claim it's due to Fox trying to silence the truth.

He was pretty fucking insane about the benghazi thing, so I'm not sure if this is new, but it is a bit more desperate.

Edit: and Obama's birth certificate....and the Tea Party nonsense....

correct about everything
Hannity strikes me as the type of guy who is gonna end up in a Straitjacket when the Trump administration collapses on itself.

it would be nice to think that people like hannity would get some sort of comeuppance, but unfortunately that is not going to happen. he doesn't care as long as he gets paid, and as long as nutjobs abound, that's not going to stop any time soon.

When's his contract till/when's it up?

No clue

He knows they won't renew his contract so he's going HAM to build more cred with Trump and the alt right. Guessing he'll move to Info Wars or do his own thing (YouTube, podcast).

When he's let go he'll claim it's due to Fox trying to silence the truth.

That's my thought process on that. He'll get more juice this way vs just being normal shithead Hannity

The hardcore conservatives at the network are in panic mode. Their ratings are in decline and its obvious their Dear Leader is in deep shit.

FoxNews will likely moderate quite a bit with the Murdoch kids in charge but its going to be a gradual process they better hope can work because right now Foxnews is poison pill

A darkest before the dawn type of situation. The problem with that is so much more damage could be done before they even get a chance to come out the other side of this change.

That's great, I'm sure T_D will take this news in a great way lol.

They still believe the story to be true, and the russian connections a conspiracy theory.

Every other thread is about Seth rich being murdered by Hillary, and hebother half how Ariana grande wanted all her American fans dead back in 2014.

We're witnessing the actual Fall of Fox News

It took a Trump presidency. Think how much it'd be thriving with Clinton in office.

Minuscule favors, I know.

I think I need to hear it from Smith and Wallace themselves that, despite both working at Fox News for years, they were somehow unaware of the culture of sexual and racial harassment that Roger Ailes created, before declaring them salvageable.

Yes and no. They were always propaganda. But pre-Trump they weren't THIS bad. PreTrump they would only dogwhistle the conspiracy theories instead of outright suggesting them.

I dunno. They had Glenn Beck on there for quite a while, suggesting conspiracy theories was his main thing.

As shitty as Fox News is, they generally don't peddle Infowars-esque conspiracies.

Hannity is pretty much the only one who can't even remotely handle even talking about Russian influence.

At what point does fox decide that the damage that this guy is doing to their Network isn't worth it, when they know he'll probably up and leave them to work on whatever Freedom News Network pops up in a year or two

Wow, when even a class-A shithead like Jonah Goldberg thinks you've gone too far, it's time to pack it up.

For reference, Goldberg's the same asshole who wrote this:

41c95cZRicL._SX322_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

WGBH/WBUR having shits like Goldberg on and letting them go through their nonsense without ever being questioned or challenged is the reason I let my sustaining membership lapse. They basically give them a platform to say anything and everything they want in some attempt to be 'fair' in the worst way possible. They're barely even interviews - host will ask like three general questions and never follow anything up.

Goldberg is in some ways worse than the idiots they have from the Federalist on - he sounds/presents like he's a legit intelligent person, while the Federalist just has straight up crazies. The crazies are obvious, Goldberg makes it sound like he might have a point, when if the facts are presented he's almost as out there as they are.

Makes the nonsense with Leak and Lawerence O'Donnell at MSNBC make no sense. This is the time to capitalize on Fox News downward spiral this yet Leak wants O'Donnell gone because he calls Trump out for what he really is and that's a liar and he isn't afraid to say it on air and back it up with examples.

My best friend growing up went to a Hannity/Trump rally during the campaign last year and proudly boasted about it with FB pictures of himself with Hannity. I've never been so simultaneously disgusted and heartbroken in my life. We never discussed politics growing up and we lost touch somewhat after high school, so I did not see it coming. I honestly hate Fox News, they are responsible for destroying so many of my relationships.

In addition to my once best friend they also took my last remaining grandparent from me. The man I am named after. After they poisoned his mind I have more or less lost all respect for him. It's incredibly sad and infuriating at the same time.

It makes me wonder what compelled these employees to work at Fox in the first place. I'd assume if they were the least bit interested in working at a news outlet, maybe they should look up what's been said in the news about said news outlet?

He's completely lost it.

The best part is when he indirectly admits that this is all to distract from Russia/sow doubt to get Trump off the hook.

Deep down he knows what fact based reporting is, how credible the NY Times and Washington Post are, and he knows the GOP is fucked. Yet, he probably has not been able to reconcile that to the Seth Rich story, which he so desperately wants to be true so he can be one of the early discoverers on.

They can't go against Trump, though. Have we all forgotten? They tried way back in the primaries, and learned fast that their viewers wouldn't stand for it.

And that's true. But they're at a very real impasse where they can either be an outlet for delusion, resorting to lies, deceit, deflection, shitty practices in order to tuck in old white American and tell them that everything will be alright, the scary brown people are gone, but are at the foot of the bed and the light of the TV will keep them at bay...

Or they can be JOURNALISTS.

Political shifting aside, I bet there are a LOT of people at Fox news who, while being super conservative and right leaning, WANT TO DO THE FUCKING NEWS! And as long as they continue being the mouthpiece of the shuttering, cowering, specter of aging white America, they cannot be journalists. I'm sure there are lot of people at fox news who are fucking pissed off that comedians who haven't done a single days worth of journalistic education have more credibility than they do because the show that pulls in the biggest numbers is run by a wackjob who hates people and handwaves constantly and makes everyone associated with the network he's on look bad.

But you make a lot of money being a mouthpiece, convincing people that the country will be there tomorrow.

::Shrug::

I don't know if he ever wasn't, but it's damn certain that he's legitimately fucking insane now.

Sean Hannity strikes me as perfectly sane. Like if being a crazy liberal news host had been the fad in the early 2000s, that's what he'd be doing now. He doesn't really have any allegiance other than to manipulate people for his personal gain which is why he's pushing a conspiracy theory from the_donald.

doesn't Hannity have Trump's ear?

I believe he has incentive to do the shit he does. And it's not about him losing his mind.

looking forward to shit finally coming out about those two.

I dunno. They had Glenn Beck on there for quite a while, suggesting conspiracy theories was his main thing.

Yes, but that was basically ONLY a Glenn Beck thing back then. And even back then eventually they kicked Beck because it wasn't winning enough viewers.

Brad Bauman, spokesman for the Rich family, told CNN last week that "anyone who continues to push this fake news story after it was so thoroughly debunked is proving to the world they have a transparent political agenda or are a sociopath."

Gonna go with sociopath.

I love this tweet I saw last week.

"Crazy that a neck learned how to scream and we all just agreed to pretend it was a person and call it Sean Hannity."

A lot of advertisers pulled from his show I think because of some insane Nazi analogy he made.

It was both. Advertisers didn't like Becks Nazi comparisons and Beck was also declining in viewership, so fox let him go.

But my main point stands that pre-Trump, fox was very careful not to let their prime time shit go full Breitbart.

If Hannity gets canned I'll start to believe there are phantom thieves taking down Republicans

First Ailes
Then O'Reilly
Hannity, if he goes next
and then the final boss, Trump
