Best Rogue Galleries in Fiction

Seeing all the hype for the new Spider-man movie reminded me how much I love his strange and interesting roster of villains he cycles through on a regular basis. It's been said a billion times, but he and Batman have the most iconic collection of villains in fiction. But I wanna know what other fictional stories have great rogue galleries and tell stories with their collection of characters as well as Spider-man and Batman use theirs. Oh, and the Flash's is pretty up there too!

Tell me your favorites!

The majority of us will be saying this, but it's true, like you said: Batman.

Spider-Man would be the best rogues gallery for Marvel for sure, though there's a wide berth between his and Bats.

Nothing else comes close. Flash may be a third.

Was it the Bombcast pod that talked about Injustice 2 and had zero idea who the Flash's enemies were? I can't remember, it was definitely one of the gaming podcasts. Regardless, the Flash's rogues gallery is decent, but its waaay less mainstream than Batman or Spidey.

As far as another rogues gallery that's great, I'd go with He-Man's. Just look at these dudes. So dope in a completely cheesy 1980s kind of way.

I dont care what anyone says, Superman has one of the most underappreciated rogue galleries in comics.

I think it's pretty average for a superhero of Supes' stature. His rogues gallery should be one of the best, but instead it's just meh.

Metal Gear Solid has pretty fantastic villains. Namely Foxhound, Dead Cell, and the Cobra Unit. But even the normal patrol guards are memorable in their own way.

Batman's is classic. You can't go wrong.

Yup it's for sure Batman. Most A-list villains would be top billing in any other property, and the Joker is a classic.

Behind Batman, it's Spider-man. His villains aren't as classic as Batman's, but they're also fucking great.

It was the Beastcast and they barely knew who Wonder Woman was, let alone Flash's villains, so it's hard to take their superhero knowledge that seriously.

In terms of superheroes I'd definitely say Batman, Spider-Man and Flash are top three.

I agree with this.

Lex Luthor, Mercy, Mr. Mxzsptlk, Metallo, Parasite, Toyman, Bizarro, Livewire, Zod, Faora, Mongul, Silver Banshee, Doomsday, Cyborg Superman; and shared with the Justice League, but I still associate with Supes; Brainiac and Darkseid (and other Apokoliptan New Gods).

So good.

Angels from Evangelion. They start off as your run of the mill kaiju but after a certain point shit gets abstract.

Sure, but they represent the mainstream. I bet they could all name at least a half dozen Batman villains, and at least a few Spidey villains, but they talked about Gorilla Grodd and Captain Cold yet had no clue they were the Flash's enemies!

In the public conscious, Batman is by far #1 here, with Spidey a really solid, kinda close #2, and then #3 is a good step down from there.

I would agree. He would rank third, behind Spiderman at two, Batman at number one.

outside of that probably the only other prominent and very robust gallery I can think of would be Star Wars.

Jojo villains are very memorable. Even disposable mooks have some creative powers and personality quirk. Part 4 has my favorite villains though because a lot if them become regulars and basically the whole manga and anime is about weird shit that goes down while Josuke's crew chill around town.

Seriously, The Powerpuff Girls have a seriously underrated rogue's gallery

HIM, Mojo Jojo, Rowdyruff Boys, Princess, Medusa, Ganggreen Gang, Fuzzy Lumpkins, the Amoeba Boys & Boogie Man

Darkwing Duck isn't one that's been mentioned yet. Some really fun and clever fun villains on that show. The Fearsome Five everyone.

That's cause The Flash isn't Superman or Batman, so WB didn't care for decades, really.

Spider-Man hands down. I always decide this by this simple reasoning. Spideys rogues would destroy Batmans or Flash's if it was a battle. No question about it. Plus spideys would do serious damage to Bats too. Flash is just ridiculous OP.

IMO.

Batman. And it's not even close. Spider-Man is a strong second.

This

But if I were to add a strong contender I would say FF has a pretty good one. Main reason I read FF is for the villians: Doom, Galactus (and his heralds), Skrulls, Annihilus, Namor (at times), Inhumans, Molecule Man, Physco-Man, etc
