Holy crap Bayonetta is awesome now that the cutscenes have been turned a bit down. I used to SSS rank Devil May Cry (1-3) back in the days so it gives me a fuzzy feeling. Never played DMC4 though. Bayonetta has been one of the few Platinum Games I haven't played too.

bish gets all the credit :)
You should play the NES Bionic Commando and Rearmed. Stop there. If you're feeling froggy, Rearmed 2 (only on PS360/PSP) isn't terrible.

Guys, I'm really glad to say that my RX 480 arrived today (I was with a GTX 570), and I've already noticed some big improvements. However, I'm still not 100% sure if it is performing as it should, would like some feedback.

I've downloaded 4 demos before getting the card, ran some tests with the GTX 570 and now I ran the same demos and performed some tests with the RX 480. All of them were much better, but I'm under the impression Doom performance isn't how it should be.

GTX 570:
- Dishonroed 2: 900p, very low to mid settings, generally at 25-30 fps. (constant drops though)
- Mafia 3: 900p - low to mid settings, generally at 25-30 fps. (constant drops though)
- Doom: 900p - mid to high settings, 30fps. (with some spikes to 40~50)
- Forza Horizon 3: Couldn't even launch the app. It seems the card didn't support the minimum VRAM recquirements.

RX 480:
- Dishonored 2: 1080p, highest settings, 30~40fps.
- Mafia 3: 1080p, highest settings, 30~40 fps.
- Doom: 1080p, max settings, 45~55 fps.
- Forza Horizon 3: 1080p, highest settings, 50~60fps.

I've seen some benchmarks of all these games, and it seems Dishonored 2 and Mafia 3 are really bad ports, and the results I got seems to be more or less lined up with what I saw regardig the same card, considering these are all demos and they may not have received any update.

Forza Horizon 3 actually performed a little bit better than I expected, since it was considered such a bad port (click here to see some screenshots I took) . In ultra settings I was able to maintain 50~60 fps during pratically the entire demo.

But Doom........ this one is acting strange. It's performing way better than before, that's for sue, but I've seen some benchmarks (of the full game though) running it at 90~100 fps with my card. I've tried changing the API from the demo to Vulkan and it just crashes. Tried resintalling all the drivers and nothing changed, am with the latest AMD driver, and used DDU to remove all Nvidia driver could be left.

What do you people think? Is Doom demo really badly optimized? Is there any solution to make Vulkan work?

Which one do you guys recommend
lol

i actually think ass creed 3 is a bit underrated, at least among people that like those series.

i wouldn't say it's a fantastic game but it has a really good villain and an interesting setting and if you completely ignore desmond (which you should be doing anyways) it's kinda alright

it's no ass 2 for sure but you know, if u like fake videogame parkour tourism things it's not a waste of your time

just like every other assassins creed game just run for the main story and skip everything else

I gave Punch Club an honest go. Put nine hours into it.

At first, it was pretty neat. A bar-filling game with a few different playstyles and a couple of storyline branches. It's at its heart a time management game: balance training with working (to get money for food and/or other better training) and fight every few days. Your skills decline each day so you have to train pretty consistently.

Things went pretty well up until a certain point in the story - I assume it's the endgame. Suddenly you're asked to balance a whole new stat: fame. I found myself training day in and day out repeatedly, and after like ten days none of my stats managed to go up a single point and I hadn't fought once. There's time management, and then there's pointless grind. And apparently, before a fix it was even worse. So I had to let it go.

Up until that point it was pretty fun, though, with decent graphics, gameplay and pop culture references aplenty. Shame about that shitty late-game.

Random aside, but it's REALLY nice see Shadow Tactics ranked high on that list.

I know it's on sale, but it's nice to see that it's got some visibility due to that.

I think it flew in under the radar as it launched in mid-Dec. last year, well after most outlets had their GOTY lists already finished.

Shadow Tactics is the textbook definition of a hidden gem.

It already sold about 120k copies according to Steamspy. It's a fantastic game, it was my GOTY last year. Word of mouth really helped it.

So I need a new headset and after that a microphone. I want to go separate because having two in one sucks.

Any suggestions?

This might be a stupid question, but why does two in one suck?

Audiophile headphones don't usually have a mic. That's more for gaming headphones.

They made a survey asking for what games we wanted to see on steam like 2 years ago and have been silent since. Their CM was posting here but I also haven't seen him in a long time.
I really wanted Grandia 1 and Lunar on steam :/

Well, I've tried finishing the prologue several times, but I thought I'd actually do it this time and make up my mind about this game once and for all. If it's bad I'll just jump on 4 or Unity immediately.

but what does the game manual say about it =o

There is no manual :x Is there ever a manual?

But even if there was, I don't think it would actually say anything about it. I'm fairly sure I got this dialogue because I own the game on both Steam and uPlay.

I am not speaking for everybody =p.

Thing is the mic keeps breaking no matter how much I take care of it. Even my headphone stand doesn't save it lol. SO figuring nicer headphone and nicer mic is better than the okay 2 in 1.

With Destiny 2 coming out on PC, does peer-to-peer networking put players at risk of being cheated?
Matt: The PC platform poses unique security challenges for Destiny 2, but our security Ninjas have spent several years building a plan for how to engage with this new and vibrant community. We have a variety of top-secret strategies to ensure that the life of a cheater in Destiny 2 PC will be nasty, brutish, and short. And, regardless of what platform you play on, all changes to your persistent character are communicated directly to our secure data center with no peer-to-peer interference.
Several years of preparation to enter PC. PC gaming is serious business.

Yeah, I was wondering about that recently. I vaguely recalled some hints that Grandia 1 was coming but it's been silent for a while. I found these SteamDB entries, which seem to suggest they might no longer be coming. Perhaps someone with a better understanding of SteamDB than me can make more sense of the most recent updates.

i won't say it's like a good game when put next to like real games but i think it's pretty ok compared to the other ass creeds

I expect cheats in the first couple months of release.

I give it a couple of weeks.

how if blizzard is good with anti cheat?

Blizzard can ban cheaters if they catch them. The cheats will still get made though, so it's not like they can do anything to stop that. Also, we don't actually know what kind of infrastructure support Blizzard is providing in this whole arrangement. It's entirely possible that they are just acting as a storefront and content delivery system.

Yes.

Just treat it like a linear game.

The open-world part is pretty empty.

Story is great. Kinda falls apart in the 3rd act, but it worth it up to that point.

The tech is incredible.

Really nails the time period and noir mood.
