Crackdown 3 (XB/PC, Sumo Digital) E3 Trailer out Nov 7th

That was a terrible trailer. The game might turn out good but they're not exactly showing it off very well. Terry Crews live action part was more hype than any of the footage from the game.

Sumo really need to be called out here, it honestly doesn't look like the improvement you'd expect for Xbox x game, it looks pre alpha, like a test map with everything turned off. MS should delay this one more time, if it ships in this state the game will not only bomb it'll kill the franchise

My 2 cents on the "reveal"
The idea is fine to focus on the SP. As that wasnt really shown yet. But we didnt see anything really. It was just alot of shooting in a trailer. I mean we didnt get anything new about the SP. The should have gone with this vid like they did in 2015

Single player there looks waaaay better, even its just from a visual point of view. This is what I expect from a exclusive 4 years into a cycle.

The few seconds of single player in that trailer look like a completely different game to what we saw yesterday.

This gives me hope. Which begs the question, why approve such poorly animated basic looking gameplay as the sp reveal? As others said, there a world of difference here, and this was what..a year ago?

Well find out tonight hopefully

Its a 2015 vid.

Because the animations look so much better in 2017

Not read past the first page, but saw the destruction posts. Was the cloud based destruction discussed? Alluded to?

E: I ask because even though I'm not interested in C3. The technology behind it (if it works as advertised and not just best case) has to be good for multiplayer gaming.

This does not look like the AAA launch game that scorpio desperately needed...

I'm quite surprised it's made by sumo digial, assumed it would have been a MS studio.

Your post would be ok if it didn't mention 2015. It's a first party game, for the "most powerfull console ever" reveal conference, and it looks like that.

Not sure what you mean? Jusy saying they should have went with the same style of trailer for this reveal.

They discussed it, but they said their focus at this e3 is the campaign mode - which doesn't have the cloud destruction ...

Its amazingly stupid not to show the part of the game that people were anticipating the most.

And this is why I don't come to GAF for impressions on games. It looked like Crackdown and not like Crackdown 2, will definitely buy in the W10 store when it drops.

Yes! I felt the conference was rushed. I wanted more Xbox X.

It's not the visuals or the animations that concern me. Crackdown has never been about that.

It's the fun factor that keeps me playing, the writing, the jokes etc.

Need to see more definitely.

No way they showed enough of it.

Particle effects look nice, but the rest of this game looks like a relic from a previous console generation. Hopefully they can bundle a Halo 6 beta key for the next Crackdown entry to hopefully save this dumpster fire.

As it is one of the more bigger releases coming to xbox this year why no stage demo? They could of had a stage demo showing some Single player and a bit of multiplayer with the destruction elements.

I couldn't agree more. They showed too much of AC and not enough of Crackdown.

Looks really dated long before it even comes out. Can't say I'm impressed at all.

Also expected more of a blowout in footage than the 20 second snippets we got for a game that's been in development for ages. Not exactly surprised Microsoft didn't give this front and center attention though considering it looks pretty poor.

It is truly disappointing. I loved the infamous series and I was looking forward to this game. Compare the fluidity of animations and physics to this:

PS3 game btw

We should wait for more footage though.

That 30 sec gameplay dident look bad but it just looked way too similar to the original game.

No wonder they delayed it from last year.

This is what makes it even crazier. First, they made the conscious decision not to bring the MP build to the show at all, despite that being the mode that has been generating all the hype.

Then, what they show of the campaign, doesn't even show anything... it's just a bunch of shots from weird angles of poorly animated agents shooting into space. All that accompanied by low res effects and explosions- It literally looks less visually impressive than the 360 version in this regard.

If the campaign is anything like the original, I'm sure it'll be fun, but this was just a terrible way to sell the game People are now more confused as to what is actually being offered and unimpressed with what they know to be coming.

I remember giving the original Crackdown a shot and not seeing much of the appeal. This one looks okay from a gameplay standpoint but I'm not seeing anything to get excited about in what they showed. Maybe the series just isn't for me though.

Can't remember for sure but I think it was the Waypoint MS/EA recap podcast where they mentioned that Sumo Digital took over the project from another dev (they didn't specify but apparently it was Reagent Games) after the game hit development issues.

I was kind of wary of this one from the start considering the first game was good but flawed and the second was an all around worse game except for upping the co-op player number to 4 from 2 in the original game and that new reveal trailer pretty much vindicates my apprehension I think. It looks like a worse and much more generic version of Saints Row 4 to me.

I am going to assume if the destruction is still there they would show it off at Gamescom.

I know they keep saying its still there on twitter but I really suspect its super downgraded.

Also word of the wise if the official website changes away from the destruction its downgraded. https://www.crackdown.com/
As the main website is still showing it. If that were to change assume its super downgraded as not to mislead people or false advertising.

Definitely looked horrible . Crackdown has never looked that impressive anyway, but this latest trailer was below anything previously shown before.

Love Sumo Digital, I'm said they were probably dragged to finish this mess and salvage something.

Looks like a next gen Crackdown to me, why ya'll mad?!

Does need a better showing though. And the Multiplayer stuff needs to be seen in action, pronto!

Where did they actually say SP won't have the cloud destruction? That sucks if true. I omly care about the SP. Could care less about a random MP mode just for destruction, but maybe this will change my mind.

It is one of the reasons I have always been a bit dissapointed in Crackdown. I always expected it to be a full AAA game with a campaign, but 1 and 2 has a generic as they come campaign and no real focus. If ir wasn't really fun it would totally suck.

The destruction was the only thing this game had to bring to the table. Crackdown was stale already with Crackdown 2. This just looks like more of that. Not really anything about it says to me this justifies a $500($700 cdn) console for getting the best out of the game either.

I'd love to be pleasantly surprised but it was glossed over so bad in the presentation I don't have much hope.

Damn.
I'm left wondering if they thought technology would catch up to their idea before release.
As it stands, I'm convinced it's incredible in perfect conditions, I remain skeptical about real world usage, and I think they want Crackdown 3 out the door, so I'm expecting a scaled down version on release. Weather the storm and talk Crackdown 4 when it settles. All mad speculation based on the lack of anything from the conference, because the old E3 footage is still crazy good, and if it was working as intended, we'd get something...

They've said this since the game was announced.

The campaign SHOULD be like CD1, but with an improved structure. But it can't do the destruction because it's playable offline.
