Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Finally got the full MG Gorgon set. Pretty spiffy. I'm even using the security dudes staff to try and level up my proficiency with that style of weapon. I like how every weapon has a pretty varied and effective style with tons of move. Even different dodges can produce different kinds of attacks and the 2.0 weapons have some really cool extra abilities as well. Is it possible to use the shoulder cannon with the Gorgon armor? Or that move where they jump straight over and behind an enemy?

So I'm in the second zone and I kinda don't know where to go?

I feel like I've explored everywhere but I must have missed something somewhere.

What have you done so far on the area?

I got the shortcut that leads to the little offramp in front of Ops.

I killed a couple of the three legged robots.

I found two areas with human enemies that seems to be way too overpowered for me (including down the flag of stairs where the lady nice is standing).

Now that I think about it, the only spot I haven't pushed too much is where you get the elevator not too far from Ops that bring you upstairs where there's robots that are complete assholes. Hmmm maybe I should give those guys another try.

That exo lift that leads to the
4 legged robots is only for an implant you can run to grab, then run back to the lift for though you might die in the process as there are several of those enemies.

You should be able to find a way to advance where those 3 legged robots start showing up as there are a couple different routes to go to.
Have you encountered the area with two smelters or the toxic waste area?

You definitely want to try and take them on. They don't respawn so make sure you pick a different body part each time. Head, Right Arm (for the armor and the staff) body, leg. Theres four of them in this area and they don't show up again till later on.

As far as where to go I believe that shortcut takes you to Support Link 2? If you come out of Ops and head across the bridge there go to the left it should lead you to another bridge on your left. That should be where you want to head next

Hmmm ok thanks... I guess I'll poke around some more today.

I'm currently "stuck" at the same area, I feel like this is the first difficulty spike in this game for me. Kinda feels like the bridge in Bloodborne with those two beasts - but then you find a way around it.

A hint
the stairwell area with the female quest giver has one of those tripod robot enemies in a room at the top of her stairwell. That robot enemy is sitting next to a small ramp that leads up to one of those enemy gunner set ups as well as an exolift. That exolift should be a route to check out and everything that branches off of it.

Ok I found the recycling area and killed the big recycler.

BTW... What does the two controls upstairs do exactly? One of them is for the bridge which I get but what's the other one?

When you extend the bridges you can then move the Smelters so that they're separated and you don't have to fight them together. Also keep exploring that area and when you find the toxic waste area you're on the right trail.

Finally got to the third boss after unlocking what I think are all the major short cuts and other doors possible at the moment.
Wasn't quite expecting that whole moving platform to be the boss lol

HStallion

The third boss:
The first half is really easy and can easily be beaten without taking a single hit. The second part is annoying and tougher with all those arms attacking.
It seems to get the 2.0 weapon you've got to leave 2 or more alive before taking out the boss. I was thinking of taking out the two on one side to give myself a safe path to take out the main part but that isn't easy.

So I'm trying to kill the second zone's boss right now which, I assume, means that I'll be able to move to the third zone after.

That's great but it's killing me to see that there's still so many locked doors and exolift around the second area that I have apparently missed or something...

For example there's a lock exolift right after the first enemy when exiting the OPS that I still haven't found a way to unlock.

Oh, you'll find a way to use and it will blow you mind. Be patient.

You won't unlock or open everything the first time you visit an area. There are some locked doors and stuff in the first area as well.

Running around R&D and all I have to say is
I hate exploding enemies

What do you do with the Golden Coins?

Just started this game lastnight and it seems to have potential, really liking the setting. Two stupid questions I have in my head after playing like, 20 min total.

1. What's the point of the horizontal vs vertical attacks? is one basically a quick attack and one is a strong attack? Or are there actual benefits to striking one way versus another on certain enemies? Might become clear/obvious when I actually start investing time into the game, but right now I just feel as if I was randomly swinging with both options in the intro area.

2. I think i grasp the concept of the finishers and possibly "extracting" a piece of the enemy that I'm targeting... but I'm not 100% sure on how all of that works either. Like can I target an enemies weak (blue) point and when it comes time to finish the enemy, can i then switch to another part to perform the finisher? or is the finisher only available on the area I've been hacking away at?

It seems like combo potential a lot of times as interchanging the horizontal and vertical attacks can produce different combo chains. Also remember to time your presses and not button mash as attacks will use a lot less stamina. Just watch your stamina bar and when it flashes is time for the next button press.

I also believe depending on which body part you target affects what attacks happen especially for vertical attacks. A vertical attack on the head often comes from above but I noticed that those that are used on the legs can actually come from below.

Also there are multiple attacks for each kind of dodge and the different kinds of blocks/counters. You can also jump/duck to dodge attacks by holding the block and moving the right stick up or down. The timing is pretty generous.

You just need enough energy to perform a finisher and the enemy to have been weakened enough. You target armored parts of enemy bodies because you want to chop them off as they tend to take less damage than unarmored ones which lead to a quicker kill. If you attack a body part enough and have enough energy you can cut it off by holding R2. The more you attack a particular part the better your chance of getting it once you do a finisher.

Awesome, thank you! Really wish I was at home now playing.

I've actually never really played a Souls-like game before, they didn't interest me. Something about this game though made me want to take a crack at it. I mostly think it's just the sci-fi / robotic stuff that has me really interested. I just love the concept and everything that was shown. Once I saw it receive good reviews and some positive impressions here I figured I had to try it.

Hoping I finish it!

So how hard is this game compared to the Souls games or BB? I'm not terrible at them, but I've had times where I needed to summon. Since you can't do that here, I don't want to hit an impass. I see patches have changed some things so I'm wondering where it stands.

I would say... Mobs are harder, bosses are easier?

HStallion

I'd say it's generally a lot easier due to the many healing implants.

I find this is balanced out by the fact even with a ton of health implants and upgraded armor you can still be one or two shotted by most enemies in the game.

So I dropped +6'000 scrap and on the way back there it just walls off a section and activates a boss.

What the fuck is this shit?

I've lost over 50K scrap in the game. It's not that big a deal in the scheme of things.

I can deal with losing scrap, but not in this bullshit way. Activating a boss in an area that I've walked through half a dozen times before is a stupid design. I could've probably even missed it had I not died that time.

That can happen in any Souls-genre game. I lost over 200,000 once, it just happens.

No it doesn't. Bosses in the Souls games always activate the first time that you walk through their area. I've spent hundreds of hours in Souls games and this here left me perplexed, so I'd know if it had happened before.

I've not beaten the game yet but the other bosses are not like that so far.

Which boss is it? The only one I can think that happens is the first one after you turn on the power and at that point 61,000 is an absurd amount of scrap to have on hand

HStallion

Is it by design or just bad luck that it activated then?

I believe its by design as you can pass through that area several times without the boss activating but once you
turn the power on
it comes back online. I encountered it without realizing it was going to show up as well.

The first one, yeah. 6000, not 61000.

Oh I see, fair enough. It makes sense from a story point then, just my bad luck.

I'm enjoying this game a lot more than I thought I would. I am still in early-mid game I guess (Biolabs) and fighting mobs is still really satisfying. Bosses have been rather easy so far. I feel like I am constantly making progress, be it finding shortcuts or leveling my weapon proficiency.

7 hrs in and this has got me hooked now. Just found the waste disposal or something.

I really want a new weapon to replace my starting chainsaw blade thing. I don't like the slow stuff.

So I had an interview today with Deck13. During the interview, they mentioned that the surge will get a new DLC this holiday season. They were planning on letting us know about this in a couple weeks however they mentioned that to me doing my interview.
