Like i said, women are not relegating guys to nice guy status because of a goddamn disney tie. So, when you say that, don't put that off on anyone but yourself.

Wow, you are WEIRDLY defensive about this.

1. No one ever said nice guy status
2. First impressions matter, fashion included. If you can't go a single date without wearing a nerdy or fandom related item, that's on your wardrobe decisions.

What app are you using?

I recommend not sending unsolicited matches if it is through OKC. Just do the Double Take or match system, and only match people that like you back. My response rate from unmatched messages is, like, 5%, and few of those have led to actual dates.
That shit ain't free. I have no idea 98% of the time who even likes me.

Need your help dating-gaf. I just had a first date with someone I met on app. We exchanged numbers and met to grab drinks after work. The conversation flowed pretty well naturally for the 2 hours we were there. After we exited the bar I did the awkward one arm hug and said "I had a good time, see you later" and then we walked away in separate directions. I'm sure there was some interest towards me on her end at the bar. What should I do now to redeem this all and potentially get a second date... I've never done the awkward hug before.

Am I just over thinking this all

you're over thinking it. don't even bring it up. just talk to them like a normal person and set up another date

I am the king of overthinking.

Youre overthinking.

To me they were always the guys Mickey Mouse tie = wanker or "nice guy". Obviously the women thought similar as they were mostly single guys.

Now sure why you're throwing these basic dating platitudes at me. Has nothing to do with the original tie statement that i simply thought was ludicrous. sorry next time I'll let you believe any kind of self indulgent advice is keen

Guys, wear a Disney tie if you want to wear a Disney tie. It could start a conversation. Or follow their advice and show up looking like a basic ass H&M model. The point is no one cares.

No, plenty of people care. You're utterly missing that point. There's nothing inherently wrong with wearing a Disney tie, just like there's nothing inherently wrong with collecting Amiibo. And I agree that there's little point in self-censoring to the extreme; it's imperative to be comfortable with yourself - and with someone who's comfortable around you.

But doing (and wearing) certain things broadcasts messages. For instance, yes, I have a Charmander t-shirt. I'm sure as fuck not wearing it on a first date because it's not what I want to lead with, nor does it define me as a person.

No, I dress well, accent certain physical attributes, and look as attractive as I can. I expect my date to do the same - because that's how things are done. In my apartment, I don't hide things anymore, and I've got a "fuck it, yeah, those are video games" attitude.

"Not wearing a Disney tie" is functionally equivalent to "not starting off your very first conversation with someone about how fucking awesome Metroid Prime 4 is going to be."

Wearing a mickey mouse tie with a suit would only cheapen the suit. Why anyone would want to cheapen a classic look that all men look great in is beyond me. If you could get away with it, then the tie simply isn't necessary. Disneyland's Dapper Day is the sole exception here.

I save all my quirky pop-culture formal wear for my socks.

Humor is a very difficult this to display, let people discover that by talking with you is the better method. You probably didn't live through the pre-internet days of many men wearing Mickey Mouse ties to display they were fun men.

Nah don't try to put that stupid as shit thought process off on women

Shit is totally irrelevant

Not surprised to see you scrounging for a burn instead of just admitting that no one is avoiding dudes because they wore a fucking disney tie.

God, i honestly dont know why dudes take advice from people who are so clearly pulling shit out of their ass

Your posting style is giving me strong confirmation bias for the bolded. By all means you can disagree and offer your opinion instead of going off and a swear filled rant.

You still single?

How do some of you handle someone who is coming on way too strong when you don't have feelings for them, as well as facing pressure from peers and family members to be with someone?

You have to be firm and clear your not interested. While also respecting the other persons feelings so that it's not a criticism about them as a person.

1) have great photos where you look attractive or hold a cute puppy

Looking attractive, got it.
I'm fucked
. My stupid staffy sleeps on me and eats my food all the time, least he could do is be cute, ugly old dog he is.
Love him tho

2) the rest isn't really a big deal. Don't be too wordy or nerdy, I guess.

Tinder limits you to like 500 characters, so that should be fine. I guess I'll wing it lol

Mine says "World traveling video game lawyer ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)"
Short and sweet. Don't get too wordy.

I'm dtf with anyone who wears postman pat shirts, ties, pants.

You just have to wear a specially designed postman pat mask I have. And you have pretend your stroking a cat while we do the dirty.

Speaking of Disney I might be going to Paris/Disneyland with one of the girls I'm seeing (the Kiwi) before she goes home in August.

Maybe it's a bad idea, but I need my Disney park fix and she wants to go... 🤔

Am I nuts?

Why do girls get offended by everything?

I texted my gf what she was up to. She said 'making tea for the family... why am I in charge of tea?'

I replied back 'because you're a girl and you belong in the kitchen lolololol'

I was clearly joking.

She took great offence to that and said she is really, really upset by me. I told her it was clearly a joke, but she said it was a horrible thing to say and couldn't believe what I said.

Why can't they take a joke? Why so sensitive?

Some people are really not into sexist jokes, I guess. I don't know her personality and what she can tolerate. Have you made up with her?

Haven't posted in months, and found this joke so bad I took the time to log in and comment. Really poor taste. There's a way to make a sexist joke work if the delivery is really on point and you have a history of sarcasm with your GF. I don't know your style of humor or how she reacts to it normally, but on its own, this is really bad.

"why are all women so sensitive"
"why can't any women take a joke"
"why do women get upset when I'm sexist"

Eh, the delivery wasn't really funny, more so obnoxious if I'm being honest. Should've said "I don't know, that sounds really tea-dious. Tell them next time that making tea is not your bag".

Rule of thumb with humor is that sexist jokes are a tough sell and not funny to a significant other because they communicate a lack of respect, and should be avoided.

If you have to do sexist humor, and you don't, at least say it in a clever or original way.

Dude maybe because that's more like a 4chan troll post than a joke.

Yeah, that wasn't a good joke.

Speaking of sexist jokes. Yesterday, the girl I'm seeing and I were talking about military conscription. She said it wasn't fair that women didn't have to enlist while men did. Later that day we were lying in bed watching Skyfall and when the scene came up where Bond gets accidentally shot by Eve, I said something along the line "See, that's why there are no women in the military". It was clearly a joke and she actually laughed but then gave me the evil eye after that :) . But it's all good.

Not the time to be making a joke about something she is already pissed off about, and text delivery can easily misread the tone without lots of diplomatic immunity emoji's. You should have had empathy with her and directed the joke at her family, not her.

See now that's pretty funny, it makes sense in the context of your conversations and isn't some dumb typical 'get in the kitchen' joke.

You guys are incredible thin skinned lawd have merc. The horrific things I say to my friends and vice versa makes that look incredibly tame, including two friends that I have that are girls.

To me it depends on your girl's humor. Some can take it, some can't. Some might just be pissed so when you say it, they get even more angry which is understandable lol

Relationship context is the difference. Women are not a hive mind that all think/react the same.
