It doesn't even make sense, it's a continuation of a show they really like but with better writing and more developed characters
People and their nostalgia, I tell ya. Not that DBS is perfect, but I'mma give it its props when it does stuff right and/or makes things interesting, like bringing old characters back into the fold. Regardless, I see DBS in regards to the DBZ games as this very slow moving train. Those who don't like DBS at all think they can stop it, but... they can't. Slowly but surely, those characters are going to eventually permeate this game and others. SSB transformation, Caulifla, Hit, Beerus, Cabba, Goku Black, etc., they certainly won't all make it into the game, but people who straight up believe Super characters will be completely ignored are coming off as delusional.
So why is that okay? I just can't accept that a property as huge as Dragon Ball isn't getting the budget and talent it deserves with it's big revival.
Considering how One Piece only just sort of now got out of its long-ass slump animation-wise, it's not surprising. Toei does what Toei does. Madhouse it is not.
