Forza Motorsport 7 E3 4K Trailer (XB1/PC)

That's why having all that 'hidden' in a hardcore mode would be the best idea.

I don't think anyone is advocating FM casting off its soul by suddenly morphing into iRacing for Xbox, but having optional concessions to actual motorport would ultimately broaden FM's appeal, not narrow it.
Driveclub had a sim mode in it and it was the closest thing to a sim on a console I'd played (up to that point). FM getting something like that would be fucking awesome.

Interesting new lobby system confirmed

https://www.gtplanet.net/info-blowout-revealed-forza-motorsport-7/

In previous Forza titles, the game would immediately throw you into the UI once you had jumped onto a server for an online race. Giese informs us that this has changed for FM7.

Instead, you're now able to hot-lap the track as you wait to start the race – even if a race has already started. This is a welcome opportunity to quickly tweak your setup before you start your race.

Furthermore, Giese told us that the ability to start non-racing rooms, in essence, ‘open track days', is possible.

Additionally, the Forzavista mode has migrated to the pre-race pit scene. This means that you can explore around your car prior to heading out onto the track. This is a nice feature to see, as it gives that much more immersion to your career within the game.

Wheelspins gone, new system in place

While the levelling system remains the same, the rewards system is set for a shake-up. A new ‘collection tier' rating replaces the love-hate ‘wheelspins' reward system.

Turn 10 will reveal more about the collection tier at Gamescom, but the concept is that the more cars you have, the better rewards you can receive. After the countless heartbreaks in the past of just missing out on a high grade car, the new system should be a hit with players.

Ah, you fucker. I'd managed to wipe that shitstorm from my memory.

What on earth were Turn 10 thinking? R1 races on narrow cobbled streets. Jesus.

Yeah you think they would have given it a test run and said "Nope" after the first corner.

If this means you're pro sidewinder, there is a special place in hell for you.

*triggered*

Thanks for reminding me of that abomination...

Yeah it was not a good track for anything over A Class I'd say. Super fun with slower cars though.

New York was kind of fun too. I wonder why they don't make a bunch of new fantasy tracks with each release. They clearly have some talent there. Is it just monstrously time consuming to get them looking good on current gen systems or something?

Probably a time constraint more than anything. The fantasy tracks from the 360 era would probably need to be almost redone completely, then with only ~2 years between each game they have to weigh-up whether they want a few new tracks or bring back old favourites. I think during the 360 era they said it took ~6 months to create a track from start to finish, not sure if that is representative of how long it takes these days though.

I don't want to sound too dismissive, but if Driveclub's hardcore mode is what you think a sim should feel like, what he's talking about may not be for you. He's not talking about handling options, so much as game structure options.

Dude... Driveclub's "sim" mode isn't very sim at all. The Forza games with no assists are far closer to being a simulation than that game could ever be. Then there is Assetto Corsa Dirt Rally, PCars and the most recent F1 game (with a wheel with assists off), all of which are also much, much better in that department. If you're interested in seeing what sim racing can be about check all of those games out.

Wheelspins gone, new system in place

I quite liked wheelspins :( . The suspense was real.

Interested to see what the new system is about though. I hope car upgrades are included in rewards instead of it just being new cars and credits.

Does anyone know if that silly mod system from Forza 6 is still in or not? I really hope they have scrapped it.

I liked sidewinder.

They should bring back NY
the one from PGR 4 not theirs

There are 30 environments in FM7, compared to 28 (including DLC) in FM6. Looking at the confirmed track list they must have cut a lot of tracks. I don't like that.

I don't see how they must have cut lots of tracks. They've confirmed to add 4 new ones and 30+ doesn't have to mean 31.

Sure, Top Gear is a likely goner. Maybe they could have lost rights to a few more. Yas Marina sucks too.

Nobody is going to shed a tear if top gear and the shitty events in the career mode that are attached to the top gear track are gone.

Fuck that Forza bowling showcase series.

We got Suzuka now anyway. Suzuka guys!

Since i am not a racing expert, how does 30 tracks compare to other racing games?
Pc2 GTSport AC etc

Can we expect more tracks patched in later?

PCars 2 has a lot more but Forza has more than the other 2 you mentioned.

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.

It was their attempt to try and mitigate the lack of PGR, but it didn't work with sim handling.

Top gear was neat for a gimmick track and if you wanted to hot lap like the tv show.

The events were a bit lame and it is a shit track to actually race on since it's a figure 8 with no barriers.

30 is a ton. Pcars has more but they're also doing rally now.

Forza has had tracks added in with dlc since Forza 2.

Sounds good then, although i read some complaints about missing few tracks from Japan.

You think they will surprise us with some similar kind of expansion like FH3?
Maybe off road/rally?
Or they don't expansions in FM? Only thing i know is nascar in FM6 but i guess that's easy to do

Presumably this is 30 routes, not 30 different tracks, right?

Correct, 30 locations 200(?) tracks

The wording I have heard is 30 locations. So I assume at least 30 different tracks. Perhaps with 2 or 3 routes for some.

Project Cars 2 has 62 tracks.

Assetto Corsa has 18.

GT Sport has 19.

Forza 6 had 2 DLC tracks with the Porsche and Nascar expansion.

62 unique locations?, is there a list somewhere?

Yeah 62 unique locations. From an interview on Gamingbolt - http://gamingbolt.com/project-cars-...unctions-career-mode-project-scorpio-and-more

The sequel will have the ”largest track roster of any console racing game ever" as per the Steam listing. How many tracks will we see and across how many iconic locations?

Andy Tudor: Yes, Project CARS 2 does have the largest track roster on console. As of today, that number is 62. If you break the 62 down by number of individual layouts, you can make the number even bigger.

There's also this PCars forum thread: http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?49905-Project-CARS-2-confirmed-track-list

The general consensus so far appears to be quite positive. Personally I'm okay with it too.

Im fine with it also,
but long time Forza fans all regard Rossi as that shit driver who runs you off the road, I just dont want to see a bunch of women driver jokes

However in Forza 6 a single variation counts as three tracks (sunny, rain, night).

Man, the FM7 vs GTS vs pCARS2 thread...

It's gonna be legendary.

Mods will need to declare it a DMZ where shitposting is actively encouraged.

No, it doesn't. Only different track variations count as different layouts(long, short, etc...). Weather variations were not counted as different track layouts in FM6.

You might want to check your game again. :) Of course they don't count as different track layouts (why would they), but they count as different tracks in the sense of those 200 tracks that Forza 7 will have. They all have their own leaderboard in Rivals. There were approx. 160 tracks/variations in Forza 6 (which includes backwards, night, weather each counting as a "track"). Now with Forza 7 there will be 200 "tracks", a number that is only possible if again every night or something variation counts as a track. There are only four new settings, Mugello can have two track layouts, Suzuka three, Maple Valley I think had three in the past as well, Dubai looks like it has three layouts at most. The only way to reach 200 is to count every variation as its own track.

Unless what you are saying is that you added new layouts to every single old track as well. But then you would market the larger number anyways. There's 85 track layouts in Forza 6, 160 tracks, Forza 7 will have roughly 100 track layouts and 200 tracks.

It's been confirmed. It's the best news right?

I know it's sad but that track excites me so much for some reason.

Absolutely. It's about time I can race the legit version of Suzuka without it having to be in a licensed F1 game. Wishful thinking, but I hope Motegi and Tsukuba make the cut too!

So glad Suzuka is back, MS have some deep ass pockets so I didn't think the license cost would a major problem. Tbh I'll be a little gutted if TGTT is dropped though, I like it just for lapping.

Been really super busy lately... Is the dynamic weather on xbox one and the X enhanced version?
Also, is it on every track or just specific courses? Thanks in advance. :D
