Dunno where you live but it's illegal to ask for last month's rest in Quebec.
Yeah, renters need to look into the laws in their jurisdiction. Lots of things aren't allowed that Landlords will ask for and if you don't look this shit up you wouldn't know. An example is "no pets" isn't a legal request in Ontario but you'll see that in ads and even the rental agreements all the time.

Moved into the apartment before the one I'm in.
Said no pets in ad.
Brought my dog anyway.
She tried to kick me out and said she would call her "lawyer sister" and have me kicked out.
Calls me back the next day apologizing saying that if I could just not get anymore dogs that would be nice.

Kept my dog there no problems but ended up moving out due to massive black mold hiding in the walls lol

I meant in terms of battery life for the joy cons and stuff like the screen durability. Not a fan of screen protectors. But wouldn't probably use much of the portable mode anyway.

Edit : Are the left joycon issues gone from new boxes? Or I'll have to send it in?

Battery life is disappointing for the console given it's basically a $500 machine, fine for the joycons and pro, but my 3DS still remains as the primary portable. I had no joy con issues and even managed to pair with an 8bitdo controller. Hardware quality is top notch.

Speaking of Puyo, that game has the most generous demo I've ever seen. It's my #2 most played game behind Zelda probably and I don't even own the full version lol.

Lol well done. It's nice to play local novices since the imported PS4 release from years back puts you against experts based in Japan. (Or whomever is so darn good at it abroad)

IIRC it's only enforceable if the landlord lives in the same residence and can prove they have an allergic reaction with the pets in question.

Illegal in BC to do last month as well (damage deposit equal to 50% of monthly rent is max they can ask for). I remember paying it in Ontario though.

Best Buy Mario Kart/Switch Bundle Update

Got an email with an eReceipt for $451.99 charged to my credit card. Calling it in. Cancelling it all and returning the game. Those who got an outright cancellation got a deal in the end.

Same here, I think I'm going to keep the switch. I want to play Zelda.

Wow I actually had no idea about the 'no dogs' thing. I have a dog and this is going to make it so much easier to find a nice place.
Read the following article for things to watch out for then follow the resources at the bottom of the page for more info.

The amount of landlords that actually know what they're allowed to do and what they're required to do is pretty low. Most don't know or don't care and will lie.

Of course I did all my eBay shopping last week... You literally have to spend so much in Canadian, it's not even worth it. Doesn't include shipping charges, so prepare to spend well over $100.

Thanks for posting though! I'm just bitter.

Sorry man, that sucks.

I lucked out I guess. Been looking at some items for a week or two but hadn't pulled the trigger yet.

New Ebgames flyer has trade 2 get one free but isn't showing up online, wanted to trade 2 towards Injustice 2 out of Neir and mass effect, or guilty gear.

Got my Mr. Noodles for the Super Mario Odyssey pre-order. Gotta love how they'll send 33 cents worth of goods by itself for free instead of with the game itself.

What does Freehold mean in terms of property. One of the places I've found has that word in this description.
Most houses are freeholds because they don't have to pay a community fee for shared property like you would in some townhomes and condos.

They don't want you to stave before the game comes out.

Awwww yeeeeaaa, my Best Buy restocked John Wick 2 4K.
Can't wait to watch it tomorrow, I've only seen it once in theatres.

Where's the best place to buy novels online? Amazon is outrageously expensive unless it's Kindle Edition, and Chapters has some really slow shipping. I need a virtual Value Village.

$75US, so it's actually more like spend $100 and get $20 off.

Go into the used section of Amazon.COM

Lots of deals and seller ship for cheap because I guess it's a paper document not merchandise

Why is SMO and Prime 4 $100 on Amazon?
Oil is $43 a barrel and headed in one direction. Dollar was at par when it was over $100. The Canadian economy is about to go into a pretty big slump in the back half of 2017, a lot of bad news incoming if you follow the markets.

It's always fun seeing your doom and gloom. You said the same thing last year and maybe the year before. Let's see if you are going to be right or might end up doing the same next year.

Has oil gone up or down in 2 years? Down? Was I right? Oh wait, I was. Is the forecast positive or negative for oil in the next reportable quarterly periods for 2017? Let me guess, you deny we have a petro dollar too? Was the dollar at 78 cents this time last year and has fallen to as low as 72.7 in the last few weeks before rebounding because Buffett decided to buy into Canadian mortgages? Was their NEGATIVE GDP growth reported within the last 4 quarters? Guess.

Have some backable objective facts instead of making blanket statements how everything is okay. It's extremely foolish for you to post with no objective proof in a question about $100 placeholder games when people are asking why it's happening. If you were right, games and electronics would be going DOWN in price not up. Yet here we are. They are priced at placeholder prices because prices are going up and they don't want to guarantee or risk supplying games at current $80 prices. It is as simple as that.

Work in O&G and I can totally confirm this lol. We have a petro dollar whether people here like it or not, and past september it'll be a coin toss as to whether there's an even bigger slump or whether things stay mediocre as they sort of are now.

Mr Noodles were delicious! Brought me back to my university days lol

Now eat them 2-3x a day for months.

Really bring back those university days.

What's dickish is that somehow Nintendo is the only one hedging their bets with the 100 dollar price.

Yeah, nobody else is being like that - does Nintendo really think they're such a premium brand that they can ask people for $100 per game?

All this dollar talk has me nervous. Sold my Switch today in hopes that issues are fixed, deals can happen, and games will be released by the time I get one to keep...

... But now I'm worried prices for games & hardware will go up by then...

I mean, I asked a family member before going through with things (they're studying economics) and they expect the dollar to stay the same. (But not improve)

Yeah it looks really awesome, very excited to play it finally.

It's what you expect and more.

The so called "experts" has predicated that dollar will fall to below 70 cents on Q1 2017 and yet we didn't see any of it. They did the same in the previous years and we all know it didn't happen. Sometimes you wonder if they really what they were saying and just talking on their ass. One thing for sure I am happy there are wrong.

.

This was a major reason I'm happy that I got a switch at launch even if I don't have a lot to play on it other then Zelda at the moment. After what happened when the dollar tanked and the ps4 went UP in price forcing me to wait even longer before getting one I really didn't want to repeat myself.

Given how hard they are to find, I can rest easy knowing that later this year when the games I want start to come (Mario, Fire emblem warriors and especially Xenoblade 2) I'm good to go and in the meanwhile, well that's why I have multiple systems for.

Yeah...

I don't know if this is just a nintendo thing or if the CAD is going to slump again.

Because back when game prices were turning to 69.99 back in 2014 I thought it was a Square Enix only thing because only their games seemed effected.
