If three rows of people, all of whom were bigger than me, and after years of throwing abuse at me online, showed up at a panel I was talking on about bloody computer games with the express stated intention of intimidating and harassing me, I'd be calling the police. It's not 'trolling' or 'shitlording' at that point, or whatever 'harmless' terms these wankers hide behind while conducting hate campaigns from behind their keyboards, it's fucking stalking. It's one step away from one of these fruitcakes taking it to the next step, at which point the ringleaders will be the first to put their hands up and say 'nothing to do with me, I just egged him (and it will be a guy) on for years and told him where to find her and bought his ticket'. Why event organisers don't take this more seriously is beyond me. If the industry itself doesn't crack down on this creepy shit so fucking hard someone will end up dead one day, either by their own hand or at the hands of one of the disciples of these professional stalkers.
I mean, Christ, there are pundits in this industry (and various public figures) where I don't believe a word they say and think they are fundamentally dishonest crooks, but what I don't do is spend my free time following them around the country with a pack of other lunatics for shits and giggles.
