Meh, I think Ghostlight are doing great work and I love them for it but they've yet to announce anything that I've been interested in, so I'm not getting my hopes up this time.

It's not actually one we've licenced. Another Western publisher picked up the rights to it, and they asked us to do the port.

I must admit I'm not 100% sure if they've announced the PC version previously, I think they have but I'm not certain.

Are the Shadowrun games still connected to each other but with different campaigns like Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, or are they completely separated like most Final Fantasy titles?

Sorry for asking this ross, but are there any other unnnaounced projects that Ghostlight plan on publishing?

Same universe, there are minor references between the games

If they've announced the PC port would you be allowed to confirm what game it is?

Thats great news. Your ports are mostly really great compared to some other big AAA publishers.

I mean you were one of the publishers who actually believed that the PC userbase wants JRPGs and proved that.

There's no general thread for game troubleshooting, but you can create your own request for assistance and/or just ask away in here.
Would be nice to have one. And not bother people too much.

I haven't been successful with Hitman Absolution. I get the "has stopped working" window. I've tried google, but nothing has worked.

Thanks for sharing news with us and bringing these J-RPG's for PC!

Has anyone else found Steam running unusably slowly recently? It has been for me for the past week or two, barely responding at all to any inputs. From some background reading, this seems to get reports from time to time (I've seen discussion of the issue dating back to at least 2015), happening for some people where Steam is set to start automatically with Windows upon boot (as I do).

Killing the Steam WebHelper task fixes the issue (the task will restart, that's fine), but a more permanent fix would of course be preferable.

Playing hidden object games, so you don't have to.

(Also, c'mon guys, one of you needs to grab Nightmares from the Deep 2. It's good. Sure, it's been bundled so often that you might all have it by now? But if not, you should take it. Yes, YOU!)

Man, thanks a lot for this post!

As a kid, I loved the Where's Waldo books, but it never crossed my mind that the hidden objects genre actually existed in video games. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

For now, I'll wishlist Nightmares from the Deep 2 (waiting for a sale), but do you have other recommendations in the genre?

It was a bad idea to start Nier: Automata while I'm still playing Bloodborne on my PS4. In both I'm missing features from the other...

And I wanted to do a giveaway with my leftover Humble Telltale keys with the games I already owned. Turned out I owned them but on different platforms. Oh well, next time maybe.

Never fails. I make notes for myself with impressions, and then completely ignore my notes.

There was one thing I wanted to add in terms of that Black Viper game:

NOT FOR KIDS.

Most hidden object games prefer to keep things relatively innocent, with a few exceptions for murders and violence. But I can say with no hesitation, this is the first game where "panties" was a hidden object. What they asked you to find allowed you to paint a pretty vivid picture: whips, handcuffs, panties, black boots, scratches on the footboard. The cop was very professional about it of course, not referring to the playboy's BDSM fetish as anything "wrong" or as a sign of other criminal tendencies. So while there's no kinkshaming, these are probably not questions you want to be answering to any kid who plays this.

So as I said, while the game is bad and I don't recommend it, make that double for kids.

For now, I'll wishlist Nightmares from the Deep 2 (waiting for a sale), but do you have other recommendations in the genre?

The Grim Legends series is pretty good too. The first one is great, the second one is good, the third one is probably the best hidden object game out there.

I recommend these: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?sort_by=Reviews_DESC&developer=Artifex Mundi

keeping in mind they are more puzzle and p&c games than hidden object ones, but that's what's so good about them.

Interesting! If you can't confirm what it is, can you at least say whether it's less obscure/niche than the JRPGs you usually license?

They're standalone stories in the same universe, different from both of your examples. Different protagonists, though events in one game might be referenced in another, say in the news. A character or two also recurs, but it doesn't feel forced the way a cameo would.

And y'know, Shadowrun is probably a top 10 fictional world. It feels like an incredibly lived-in and real setting, filled with lore, character, and history. It's really quite something.

Shadowrun 30 years ago seemed too chaotic to be believable with widespread crime due to rampant poverty except for a small middle class who basically work for anyone rich or the megacorps. The few hyper-rich spend their days just fighting each other to see who can amass the most wealth with no regard to anything else.

Nowadays? Looks a lot more believable to me.

Baby Driver was great. It has a few flaws but is otherwise a terrific action movie, with a great main character that is well developed.

Can't wait for the dragons and magic.

Thinking about the amount of incredible music I've been exposed to thanks to gaming can be quite overwhelming.
And when you combine the quality of the music with the emotions it evokes from those games...
I was going through some of my favorite tracks from franchises like MGS, SMT/Persona, Nier, TLOU, Stein's Gate, Trails in the Sky, FF, etc and there is just so much amazing music.
Going back further, music from games like the first Sonic games hits me with so much nostalgia.
It's an endless source of fantastic pieces, heightened even further by the emotional connection to the games.

Metal Gear franchise definitely has the best and most memorable soundtrack in gaming.

Anything here help? Do you have GTX 600 or 500 series graphics card? Fresh drivers? Restart your computer? Turn off any odd background programs, like anti-virus, firewalls, video capture, or overlays like FRAPS and CAM?

So I'm interested in Albion Online, but why is it not on Steam?

Any info of it going to Steam soon or later? This will make things complicated for me.

From their FAQ page:

Will Albion Online be available on Steam?

This might happen in the future! For the foreseeable future we will keep distribution via our website only, which allows us a lot more control over what’s going on. We’re a big fan of the helpful features of Steam, though, so we will look into it again at a later date.

Servizio

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
does it include the entire campaign or only multiplayer?

We're thrilled to announce that our Free Weekend for DOOM on Steam has begun! Play the first two levels of the campaign, plus all of multiplayer and SnapMap game modes. That includes the brand new Update 6.66, which unlocks all DLC content for free, revamps the game's progression, and adds bug fixes and improvements.

Just the multiplayer, since you can play the demo any time. Kinda lame, really. The first two levels and the multiplayer are not where the game really shines.
