Could you imagine all the endless, online bickering that could have been avoided had Hillary won in 2008 and Obama in 2016? The US would likely be a whole different beast today. Twitter, on the other hand, would be on life support.

That didn't happen. She did mention it and she's right but she still took the blame. We had a thread about it and the same bad arguments were made then.

Do you find it odd to live in an alternate reality?

Has Hillary?

You think Clinton takes no responsibility? Come the fuck on.

"I take responsibility for every decision I made, but that's not why I lost."

Clothed, sober, cooperative
Have any other losing candidates refused to take any actual responsibility for their defeat and blamed it entirely on factors outside their control?

Yes. All the candidates who endured thirty years and tens of millions of dollars in slow burn character assassination and the first major assault on our democracy in a cyberwar by a hostile agitator. But you're correct in noting that she didn't have a catchy slogan or go to Pittsburgh enough.

All the polling before Election Day showed this failure and we all knew it was going to happen.

Luckily we were never exposed to her boring slogan free competence and everything is fine.

No they're satirizing a character that barely exists, but everyone on the left-wing of the party gets painted as
The article satirizes the sort of viewpoint I've seen on NeoGAF every time Hillary Clinton opened her mouth after the election.

The ultimate funny part about Trump invoking Pittsburgh is that Pittsburgh went for her at the tune of 75%

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Yup. I swear there has been actual threads with the title "Clinton needs to go away" around here.

Least we cleared that up, it is no longer about Hillary, it is now about the people who voted for her. Glad the goalposts have moved, what can I do to absolve myself?

Maybe it shouldn't have been satire, it seems to be lost on people.

Do you rabidly make every single excuse for her losing to one of the biggest human garbage shitpile in existence and not acknowledge that she repeatedly fucked up during her campaign trail?

No? Well then I might not be talking about you then.

No reasonable person would dispute that external factors played a role in the outcome. That doesn't make pinning her loss entirely on external factors reasonable or defensible.

She was ahead just fine before the letter. It makes no sense to demand she pin full responsibility for her loss on campaign mistakes, especially if you argue when it suits you that it was a combination of factors.

She does not. She's just saying the election was so close the meddling was enough to swing it.

So who are you talking about cause I don't see those people anywhere but in your head.

She took full responsibility for mistakes but correctly stated that those mistakes are not what led to her loss. Again we have the data to back that up.

Well I wouldn't characterize it exactly like that, because I do think she probably could have run a better campaign and that probably did contribute to her loss. But I won't deny that Russian meddling also had an effect on the outcomes. I wasn't being too serious just then - I do think it's kind of silly to say that you take full responsibility for some outcome, but that it also wasn't your fault.

Sexism was always a huge part of the overblown Clinton hate. She was not perfect, but great by American standards

That said, I don't think she should run again. The US is not ready for a female president

Yeah I can't count the times I've recently seen left wing posters question why they stopped investigating her emails or expressed disgust at all female politicians. The article is super on point with those two things that are real beliefs held by leftists.

An article that tries to portray Bernie supporters as sexist? What year is this? Why are we still throwing out these useless insults?

Some Hillary supporters are so salty about Bernie supporters, despite them showing up to the polls to vote for her. Sorry the rest of America "failed" you, but it's been 7 months since the election, and a year since the primaries. I think after Hillary's historic loss, people have a right to blame her and want her as far away as possible. She was very clear that she was the only one that could win, and shoved it down everyone's throats. Well...you didn't win, in what should have been an easy election. It wasn't even supposed to be close, let alone him winning.

She is far away... Dude.

Again that's like the whole joke here, she is far away but people freak out every time she says anything at all.

I mean shit there was a story wherein someone who wasn't her or anyone who works for her said that she was going to work with Howard Dean to raise funds for grassroots activist groups and people still told her to fuck off....

Seriously. If Clinton seems close it's only because of people like Trump that keep mentioning her and making her relevant. The way some people talk you'd think she was the President of the Democrats.

We severally underestimated how well the southern strategy still works, and how effectively it can be applied in the Midwest.

Republicans could have nominated a literal talking turd mixed with radioactive uranium and Ebola, and as long as it "tells it like it is" aka said what the racist and xenophobic fucks were thinking, it would still have a good chance of winning, even though it's a literal pile of shit.

While I would disagree, because actively fundraising for the party and doing interviews isn't being far away, that isn't the point of what I said. Being mad at people is for being upset with Hillary, is like pretending that Trump isn't president.

Are you really going to waste so much energy on demonizing someone for just interacting with others?

Also, that second sentence doesn't make sense.

So your definition of Far Away is literally don't speak ever.

She is fundraising for the party, something the Clinton's have done for years, something they are exceedingly good at. You are mad about that. How? It isn't money for her or her people, it is money for down ballot grass roots candidates...

Where you mad when John Kerry did the exact same thing after he lost? Did you even know he did the same thing?

People want her to stay far far away, move to Mars. Then they want her to talk about what a failure she is and take responsibility for losing. Shit is amazing.

That's a disingenuous oversimplification. While Team Racism enthusiastically voted for Trump, turnout among traditional Dem voters was severely decreased (see https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2017/05/08/why-did-trump-win-more-whites-and-fewer-blacks-than-normal-actually-voted/?utm_term=.93049ad369cbhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/news...normal-actually-voted/?utm_term=.93049ad369cb). "America is already great" doesn't play too well to the working poor. The Flint crisis was ignored (by Obama, not Clinton). These issues were not a result of Russian or FBI interference, they are ignored by Clinton supporters and they need to be addressed.

Only at the insistence of Hillary and her supporters.

lol

To be honest, the only reason I have a clue what Hillary's thoughts are on current events is because Bernie supporters immediately bring it to my attention on facebook.

Regardless, the point was that re-hashing the primary for the billionth time is not productive. The only thing I can imagine that's even less productive is to argue about who brings up the primary more often.

lol i love this.

i will never understand the Hillary hate on gaf. She lost to a sexist, race baiting and lying pig. Shouldnt we be angry at the people who chose him over a well qualified candidate like Hillary?

That would require white moderates to hold their family members accountable for their evil choices

Article got a good laugh from me.

Its sad and infuriating to see people lose their shit now at the mere mention of her name. How dare she want to raise money for progressive candidates or give speeches to women's groups.

Its like some want her to just drop dead

But it depresses me how many people still support and want another run from Clinton.

Fake news

Do you foam at the mouth when Clinton so much as tweets?

If yes this is about you.

If no it's probably not about you.

This. All of this.

I know it's satire and all.
But it depresses me how many people still support and want another run from Clinton.

I'm not sure if this is a dig at me for creating the thread in the first place, but just so we're clear, no, I don't want her to run again.
