Yeah, I don't know why anyone thinks she's strong in base.
Because Caulifla, who is clearly a classical Saiyan who values brute strength, takes her in as her own and obviously had reason to believe she has potential?

If she were seriously that weak I can't imagine why she'd even bother.
Ok. My opinion of a parallel reality is that you are allowed that level of flexibility with the characters. Also it didn't have to be SSJ4. Could have literally been anything else.
I dnno. The way I see it, the mirror universes have most things the same except for minor differences (albiet differences that can result in things like Earth being barren of life - though that's more down to a chain of events (like a nuclear war) than any fundamental difference on a foundational level). If you go so far as to give them an entirely separate chain of transformations, I have to start to question why you bothered with Saiyans in particular - why could you not use some other, fresh and new alien race instead, if you're going to change things up that much?

There's also the little thing where Saiyans have by far the largest number of transformations in the entire series, something I still hold against Toriyama and something I really, really wish would change before they give them anything new. Of course, that's not happening now that Goku is getting yet another new form, but dreams are dreams for a reason...

Universe 2 Kaioshin is called Peru, what's the pun?
Universe 10 angel is Cus, maybe from Cusqueña, peruvian beer?
Interesting...

I dunno Caulifla seems to genuinely care about Kale beyond what Kale can do on the battlefield
She obviously does, but she also immediately signed her up for the ToP without knowing whether or not she could even turn SS. She wouldn't do that if she didn't at least have faith that she would contribute.

It was cool seeing Caulifla go SSJ Grade 3, and it made sense since she couldn't simulate SSJ2 again, so she went for the next best thing.

Goku's about to learn his SSJ3 is false SSJ3 when Caulifla goes Ikari in a few episodes.

It's weird how the titles for the upcoming Boruto episodes are already out there and yet the DBS titles are nowhere to be seen.

She doesn't have that many left.

I think the U6 saiyans are safe for a few more episodes. based off the NEP they're not a huge focus next episode. The episode they're out, I would think they'd have a huge part within that episode, at least more than a second in the NEP. Kale's safe until we see her other form.

We still haven't gotten a Cabba vs. Vegeta fight, but I think they'll tag team the U2 fighters, and they'll both lose.

Cabba saying he'll defeat Vegeta was so weird. He knows about Blue, so he should know he has no chance unless he suddenly pulls out Blue himself, but there's no build up at all to that. I guess it was just a senseless line.

I mean it was 3 vs. 1, and Vegeta wasn't powering up to Blue, so I think he wanted to ring Vegeta out before he could get to Blue.

What's annoying is how they've dropped that fight next episode. Nothing interrupted it this episode, so it makes no sense.

Not alone, the three of them had him surrounded.

If Kale didn't go all notice me senpai, he may have had an actual struggle if he avoided just going full power. Auta Magetta alone is pretty strong, still don't know how he survived that punch-out with Toppo.
Toppo called Magetta evil. Magetta started crying. Toppo realized Magetta wasn't evil. Fight ended.

I think the first episode was chaotic enough to show that people switch fights every 10 seconds when they don't have a personal beef with the person.

The preview doesn't even mention 17 and 18.

It's a U6 saiyan centric episode.

The FujiTV one does:
Five warriors from Universe 11 swoop down on Goku, Caulifla and the others! While the enemy’s unique abilities give Goku a hard fight, No. 17 and No. 18 come running in there too! As a result the outcome of the match is…!?

I just noticed that insect warrior from the left wasn't seen before. The other two near him in this shot are from Universe 4 too, so this might be one of the "invisible fighters". I wonder if this one and the fat insect in the opening are the same one? He's supposed to be able ditch his shell as an explosive attack. Although if they're two different fighters then I guess this basically confirms the design of both.

Edit: Nevermind, one of the U3 warriors seems to have shadowy insect wings, and white braces, so it's just him. His legs weren't visible in the group shot and his wings were hidden by shadows, so I never noticed before how insect-like he was.

What? Cabba is by himself when he says that Vegeta will be kicked out. Vegeta leaped away from Botamo and Mageta, and they didn't follow him. Cabba and Vegeta are shown to be facing each other by themselves when Kale transforms later too, with Botamo and Mageta seemingly elsewhere even before they run away due to Kale's attacks.

In a perfect world, strategy and technique would mean a whole lot more than SSJ level.

I'm kind of hoping that whatever new form Goku finds, is actually an evolution of Kaioken instead of SSJ, that way we could even the playing field for all the non-Saiyans.

According the wiki, Cus' name is indeed based on Cusqueña, that's pretty cool for us Peruvians! No clue about the Supreme Kai Peru though.

Just watched it again, Vegeta jumps backwards through battle fog, and is still in prone position waiting for the other two to come attack him. Cabba comes from his rear-side.

In tournament time, it seems Kale happened right then, so we never got a chance for the three of them to close ranks on him. But Cabba was blocking his rear exit while the other two were in front.

I kinda want 18 to get ring out because she lowered her guard (again). After she eliminates someone.

She would have been the first KO if Krillin hadn't been there, which makes her commentary this episode pretty shitty.

The more I watch Super, the more I get convinced that Blue form is useless clueless and that SSJ4 is the natural ultimate form a saiyan needs to embrace.

This.
I don't care how much DBGT flopped, the best thing they brought is the SSJ4 transformation which justifies and emphasises saiyan features. In fact, I think this is the best thing the series brought. They should bring it back whether cannon or not.
It may come back, but it may look different.

Maybe he thought he could ring out Vegeta before he had a chance to transform.

There's a scene later where Cabba and Vegeta react to Kale's transformation, a while before she starts blasting everything, and they're still just by themselves, with Magetta and Botamo nowhere near them. For some reason, they just didn't follow Vegeta.

I just really love what they're doing with Kale. How she's Broly done right, and that they just continue to make it as obvious as possible that she's a huge play on him.

SON GOKU = KAKAROTTTTT

I also think it's surpising and cool how much of team player Hit is. I really hope he doesn't job.

That was such a disappointing episode.

The art was really questionable especially during the Goku vs Caulifla stuff. Choreography was meh at best for the entire episode.

And the whole story execution was just bad.

First we have Caulifla transforming to the bulky SSJ form even though she can already go SSJ2,,, And then she says she's struggling going back to that form but does it vs Goku immediately...

Goku makes out she'll be able to go SSJ3 soon which completely mocks any idea that it was a unique transformation born from training in the other world. There is literally no reason why Vegeta and Gohan didn't turn SSJ3. It was also established so many times that SSJ3 is a garbage transformation and you were much better off perfecting SSJ/SSJ2 instead. But now its being implied that its the next logical step after SSJ2.

I can't believe Kale is just a brain dead Broly rip off. Literally nothing interesting about her and her trigger is almost as stupid as Broly. Apparently you can't talk to Caulifla or Kale might just kill you.

Someone with little to no SSJ experience is already stronger than SSB. Just lol.

The only cool part was when Jiren stepped in. Other than that it was largely a mess. I really wanted to like the female saiyans but they just seem so poorly written and it seems like the writers will need to constantly retcon DBZ to make them relevant.

Goku saw Gotenks go SSJ3, so he might think it's possible for SSJ3 to be achieved. His view that it could only be achieved when you were dead could have changed then. I don't see that line as anything but Goku being Goku and having to say at least one stupid thing per episode.

Grade 3 makes sense because if she can't go SSJ2, and she might not have even known it was a new transformation until she saw Goku do it, it's the next best thing.

Caulifla will probably do the transformation Trunks did in the Future Trunks arc next, and that'll probably be revealed to be the SSJ3 when you aren't cheating death/ fucking around with time like Gotenks.

Disappointing is a good word for it. Thankfully next week looks a lot better.

For me the weakest episode was 99, with 97 a close second. And 18's my second favorite character :(.
But I've enjoyed every episode of the tournament so far.

I hope Goku gets knocked out before he gets to fight Jiren, he doesn't deserve to be rewarded, Gohan's the next strongest person not being a jerk.

Poor Krillin had to pay for 18's sins.
