I played the demo and it looked great. Is it too hard? I'm considering buying it for my wife, she likes cute games, but being easy and simple is a must for her.

I didn't find it too hard, some bosses I had to try more than one time but I feel the difficult was spot on

I had a lot of trouble against one of the early bosses, so unless I am a total noob, yes, it can get hard.

Which boss did you had trouble?

I need this.

---

Now I just need Dark Souls 3 around the same price (Don't need the DLC I never bother with it).

---

Still debating on buying PUBG. So I can get that Twitch Box, since I think I claimed that on my account.
Since if it was it'd pay for itself.

Just grab PUBG and lets play together!

Sorry about that! I sometimes confuse reality with my fever dreams, where a third Dino Crisis was released on the original Xbox and took place on a space station.

EDIT: And where a fourth game, which was a side-scrolling remake of the entire series, launched the Virtual Boy into mainstream success.

And where a fifth game tanked on PS4, which saw the Dino Crisis franchise turned into a Bust-A-Move style puzzle game. Critics raved, but alas, only 14 copies were sold.
No that ish actually happened
Dinosaurs in space is some cool ish tho
There was also a on-rails dinosaur shooter for the ps2, a spinoff of sorts of the dc series. It had shinkiro doing art for it so it gets a thumbs up from me

The Automatician is a first person puzzle game where you take on the role of Emma, who needs to solve puzzles and problems in a Victorian mansion. To prove your worth as a candidate to become "The Automatician" players must build increasingly complex chain reaction machines (Rube Goldberg Machines) to satisfy their challengers. Take on a series of increasingly complex hexagonal puzzles that ask you to create chain reaction machines. Can you become the new Automatician?

DreamPunks is game development studio from Breda, The Netherlands. The Automatician was developed by about 30 students from the NHTV University in Breda. The game was developed part time, as a part of our studies.

The Automatician is released, and the price is lower (5€) than I would have expected.

Which boss did you had trouble?

Some big rolling monster in some caves.

I lost my savegame, but I will try to find it again.

Edit: It was this one. I have managed to beat him now.

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
I love your avatar, Tizoc.

Something else I love, although unexpectedly: Jotun.
Why the hell didn't I know about this game? It's ticking so many boxes. Just what I needed in my life right now.
I wish there was a in-game encyclopedia of sorts regarding the Gods and terminology. My knowledge of Norse Mythology is somewhat rusty. (and quite limited)

Long live Wikipedia.

I almost feel bad playing this for free. Which reminds me, I saw the people behind Jotun are releasing a new game this month called Sundered and it looks stunning. It's also coming out on my birthday, so now I have to buy it. :p

The twitch prime crate seems to be dropping like a rock.

Still put it up for the price I wanted to though. So long as it's selling and people arent putting up listings quickly, I might be able to sell it for the price I want (Not looking to make a profit, just want to cover the PUBG purchase)

Just got the Normal Ending in Root Double .

Wow, that escalated. Very captivating and thrilling sci-fi mystery thriller with basically no animu aside from the character designs.
Very high production values, too. Everything is voiced, a ton of unique backgrounds and CGs, lots of audio use, animations, effects and music.
But yeah, seeing how that Ending played out I'm far from done, lol. Really far from done. Probably ¼ that I've seen at this point.
Well, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest, as there are still quite a lot unresolved mysteries left - or rather, nothing has really been resolved yet :p
I am a couple hours further into the meat of the story (just finished Route C). Some mysteries have been revealed, but many remain (plus some new ones). I am really awed by the production values too. I read a lot of Visual Novels, but few feel so "big budget" (Grisaia comes to mind).

I wish we get a Steam release of Ever 17 as well.

So, what would you say would be the best way to continue? The screen at the end said I could get a better ending by making decisions that waste less time. But there's also the entire Before Crime part.

Didn't get any crate from PUBG, linked and unlinked my Twitch with free trial two times but nothing. Something I missed or I'll just have to forget about the crate?

You have seen most of Route A (except many bad endings and the true ending). I'd say look up a FAQ and skip through Route A(fter) to see the true ending, then start Route Before blind.

Grimoire Opening Discount of 10%
I have decided it is just a nice thing to do for people who have been waiting years to play my game if I offered a 10% discount on the game during it's first week. After this ends, I want to assure anyone waiting for the game that Grimoire will never, ever sell at a discount at any time it is on the Steam store ever again. I won't permit it to be sold below it's retail value for any reason. I am too proud of my finished product to permit it to be turned into simply another commodity in a Steam sale. If Valve ever decides that sales of the product no longer justify it having a page then I will move it to another venue - but as the author I will never offer my game at a discount again anywhere. I'm not a corporation that turns out games like sausages and computes their price curves over rates of decay in market value. Grimoire is my unique and proprietary product and I only want to sell it to the most hardcore fans of the genre. I was never targeting the mass market or casual gamers. It is in the first paragraph of the original design document I wrote more than 20 years ago when I was putting a proposal together that described the entire game end-to-end in both story, design and implementation. It was an aristocrat's manifesto when it was written and the language was specifically that of an aristocrat declaring the game was not going to be designed to appeal to the masses. Only fans of the genre.

For you.
Will never understand this reasoning. One thing would be being stingy with discounts which is perfectly alright. But no discounts ever in the lifetime of the product? That's quite frankly ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever. Mixed with the "if you don't pay full price you're not a real game", it's pretty dumb.

Well at least it isn't a multiplayer title. There was one that had this same "no discounts ever" policy. Of course, it died very quickly. Congrats on self sabotaging your game, I guess.

Good morning.

I have been playing Axiom Verge over the weekend and it is really good! I dont know why but when I started I thought I would be disappointed coming off of Hollow Knight and Ori but it is a really good Metroid clone. There are a lot of cool power-ups and tools and it is pretty hard (which is good). The one bad thing is the backtracking, and I know that is a huge part of metroidvanias but it feels a lot more tedious than I remember.

So I'm having a 2 week annual leave from work soon, as such I plan on posting a list of games to look out for in August, well before the Aug thread goes up ;P Keep an eye on this thread for the list in coming days.

Until that time, here are some interesting tidbits about Sonic Mania, which is releasing in August. There was a Sonic panel at SDCC and Mania was discussed-
Old post but here are my notes from the SDCC panel just a few hours ago. They talked about the Super Emeralds.

Sonic Mania Panel

1 - 1 year anniversary of Mania Announcement trailer today.
2 - First meeting in 2016. Sonic Discovery was the original title.
3 - Iizuka writes Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, S&K on a board and then Sonic Mania.
4 - "By the Mania for the Mania" is something Iizuka kept saying.
5 - 2nd story revision. What has Eggman been up to after 3&K? He falls into depression, no will to fight Sonic, goes back to base in pajamas. What happened to all the Badniks after he left? Then 3 words, Hard Boiled Heavies.
4 - Length longer than 1, 2, 3 and K. Comparable to 3&K, and with more game modes. They think we will be happy with the length.
5 - Keep records of favorite bugs. (I forgot why I typed this, I know they kept records of their favorite bugs and showed us a few, hilarious, not sure if we can)
6 - Special stage - Sonic 1 back ground, looks like CD with 3&K spheres. Get blue spheres, go faster, catch UFO. Get emerald.
7 - Rings increase timer to catch UFO.
8 - true to how Saturn would render 3D.
9 - Dimension heist music. I like it! Going to grow on people. YouTube soon.
10 - Has Sprite cut scenes between stages 3&K style.
11 - Animated short, full animation for the opening of the game. Like CD. aug 14th release.
12 - I got this amazing classic style game manual! Some goons walked out early and missed it! That'll learn em! This thing is nice!
13 - Only this weekend can you preorder the special addition clear vinal of the sound track.
14 - No Super Emeralds. Iizuka felt like they would have to keep 1 upping themselves after that so they decided to go back to Super and just cap it there.

Fuuuuck this and all that Falcom goodness is gonna make it hard to vote for GotY for me. In fact I may not even vote unless the Steam voting is public :p

Also nice throwback to concept design Eggman
