Random thought/question: couldn't Roshi or Piccolo use mafuba to ring out any opponent since the tournament's rules effectively make the outside of the ring a container? Not that I expect them to but it would be pretty trollish if they just ring out Jiren that way.

For Roshi it would probably drain a huge amount of his stamina. He mentioned it in the one episode, so I assume he'll use it at some point. But it's something he'd use when he's nearing his limit.

Same for Piccolo.

They don't have to seal them, they can just throw them out.

We know he's using the Thunder Shock Surprise against them.
Be neat if he used hypnosis or the Mafuba.

We do? Awesome. Did I miss an episode description?

Yes. Tien and Goku can use it, too, but I can't see it happening. At best, Roshi will either use it to ringout a mid-tier enemy or screw up an attempt on one of the more powerful fighter. Goku's never using it, and Piccolo and Tien have a bunch of other tricks.

You know deep in your dark heart, that I am right.
I am, and you should go to sleep my man.
Go and rest some.

What teamwork?
Kuririn is already out, and I'm OK with this, he is trash.
Tien an Piccolo are next and bye bye team work.
Actually team work is a good idea.... but with the weakest characters fighting.... they were doomed from the start.

Now the final Kamehameha vs the trio da dangers.. that was effective and cool as fuck.

Vegeta&Goku show, so cool.

Believe there was an episode description that mentioned
Goku working with Caulifla and Kale,
while Master Roshi is stranded and has to use techniques like the Thunder Shock Surprise while he waits for his team.
It was the first episode description of 101 we got, like a week ago. Everyone was mad about the bold due to more
U6
focus.

Roshi is going to outlast Vegeta.
Never forget that.

Eh, nowadays, the shtick is getting old..
Beerus when Goku considered teaching his opponent Blue.

Cool, I just looked it up. Thanks.

And people get mad about pretty much every episode description
Remember when everyone was mad that Caulifla was "getting Blue" just because based off the episode leak she had the audacity to ask how to get Blue. Was only one line of dialogue. That was funny.

It is kinda funny the most effective "teamwork" so far came from Goku and Geets, wiped out the whole universe with some assists from Frieza and 18, the other loners.

vegita finally witnesses a new transformation and wasn't the first one to get beaten down.

i can see them doing a team mafuba to ring out some powerful fighter like toppo.

I mean, I think Final Kamehameha, at Blue level, was a little bit overkill.

I mean I agree with posts that say it has been a Goku and Vegeta show so far... but there's still a lot to go. Vegeta is probably gone. We might end up with Goku and Gohan. Piccollo, Tien and Roshi aren't really competitors.

So far there's been 4 TOP episodes and Goku has only been the focus on one of those episodes. 2 of the other episodes had a lot of Goku but I'd say 97 and 100 were under 10 minutes in terms of Goku focus.
Vegeta has had even less of a focus.

It's still more than anyone else in U7, but we've had a lot of focus on other universes fighting.

Edit: forgot about Frieza lol. Probably joins Universe 11.

Given all the buildup and it seems like it will happen though. The ending doesn't seem entirely random either given it gave away the altered arena before it happened in the show.

I honestly will be surprised if Toriyama leaves Gohan and his teamwork group as the last people standing.

I also don't think the people making the ending would give away the order either.

Pacifier arc is better than RoF.

this is a really compelling statement you made here, but no. That copy Vegeta arc was just abominable

i say compelling because it really just made me stop and think about just how abhorrent that arc actually is

i'm shook

I know I migbt be in the minority here, but I like the Goku/Caulifla interactions last episode. That he almost instantly shut dowm her learning Blue while acknowledging her potential was a good little moment imo.

I also like the idea of Goku getting a taste of being a teacher through this dynamic. I know technically he's already done that witb Gohan/Goten and possibly Trunks, but I feel the circumstances here are different.

If done right it could feed nicely into whatever they do with Uub.

Super 17 and RoF are pretty much tied for me. I like everything up until Ginyu Tagoma died, after that the arc went to shit.

I do need to rewatch the Super 17 arc, but a lot of it was boring to me, especially SSJ4 Goku vs. Super 17. There were some enjoyable parts, everyone else besides Goku trying to take on Super 17.

Goku ruins everything :(

Copy Vegeta arc was better than RoF arc because it had a better sense of danger and was more fun to watch. Seriously, Vegeta cheering for copy Vegeta and Goku was great. Monaka fainting is always good.
Besides, RoF featured a former galactic tyrant, who got humiliated by Goku, then humiliated by Trunks. There is no sense of danger in that arc, zero.

Rewatch Super 17 arc. It isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. At least there was a sense of danger and some emotion to the arc.

This is the only consistent thing about Super, power wise. (Copy) Vegeta is much stronger than Gotenks, so it makes sense Gotenks couldn't scratch him.

But isnt copy Vegeta still Base Vegeta there? Base Vegeta shouldnt be stronger than Gotenks...

Base Vegeta shouldn't be stronger than Gotenks? Why...? There is no indication whatsoever that Gotenks became stronger since the Buu saga, while Vegeta trained a fuckton under Whis in his base form. Base vegeta (SSB ability)> SS3 Gotenks no question.

So Gotenks really fell under the train, if even Base Vegeta is stronger than him, I wasnt aware of that. Well then it all makes sense, thank you

Wow the manga does a way better job at treating things with respect than the tv show.

The SSG/SSGB stuff is actually is way more impactful

I liked the Pilaf/Mai interaction in the last manga chapter.

I wonder if he'll end up becoming earth's next god or something similarly funny. This chapter had a lot of more characters interactions compared to the show.

Yeah was very respectful of the Trunks character.

Or how Goku outpowered an older and stronger version of himself fused with a god.
And shit out God powers that were never foreshadowed whatsoever.

Made lots of sense.

As silly and weird as Trunks's performance was (and yes, his god level rage boost + magical spirit sword were weird) on the anime at least he DID something.

On the manga it was full on the Goku+Vegeta show, for better or worse. Them having access to the SSG form out of nowhere was super weird. Also Goku knowing the Hakai move would have only really made sense in the anime, where he sees it being used (or rather, in the manga we never see Goku at the very least observing the technique to learn how to use it on his own).
