Persona Community Thread |OT9| SPOILER TAGS OR DIE

I'm also in agreeance that the games may be a month or two apart. Though I wouldn't really mind either way. I already plan to double dip on both versions. Hell, if they all have a collectors edition and it's the same between both platforms I will probably double dip as well.

This would be bad business. Hype is at its maximum on launch, which is why season passes sell. If they release the second one a month after the first it will sell loads less.

I really don't think it will happen.

What'd also be bad business is to sell two different games with similar audiences on the same day, and expect them to be able to afford to buy both simultaneously and play both simultaneously. Each product having their own hype cycle would maximize efficiency and hype, with it moving naturally from one product to the other once the first is released. This isn't like Pokemon.

But we also need to know more about the games themselves, first.

Fire Emblem Fates would suggest otherwise.
Each product having their own cycle only works if they're more than, what, four weeks apart?

Pretty sure a brand new, mainline Fire Emblem game far surpasses the popularity and sales of a Persona dancing spin-off. This is a large part of what enables them to go for it.

There's no reason why both games couldn't be a month or two apart and still fit within "Spring 2018."

I guess we'll see. We need to see more about the game, and anything before that is pretty baseless.

What if they don't have a story?
I'd be happy to not have a "serious" story that is forced into having dancing as a solution (a la the end of P4D). I think you'd miss out on some comedy potential by foregoing a story mode completely--for P3D especially, because people like the MC and Shinji don't really seem like dancers--but Persona comedy isn't always the best.
me either. P3D looked further along in the initial trailers.
I've seen this mentioned a lot, but I don't think the differences are that noticeable between the two.

They could do random disconnected skits rather than a full story mode, that could work ok.

I think there's more visible issues with the P5D trailer (crowds), and Paulownia Mall is the only location actually dressed up a bit for a stage.

Wonder how certain Personas will work for whatever they do with those, specifically Johanna and Necronomicon.

Initial plan is buying both P3 P5 Dance CEs. Hoping there is a bundle.

Then later on, I plan to double dip with the PS4 version because why not.

Even though I'm double dipping, I'll probably play the PS Vita versions first. Never liked playing rhythm games on HDTVs because of latency.

I hope P4D gets ported to PS4 at some point. Would be cool to have all 3 titles available on both platforms.

I interpreted the crowds in the P5D trailer as a callback to P5's early game when the metaverse navigator gets activated for the first time.

I just play on my monitor. Less latency than the vita screen

We have a BenQ monitor in my apartment, but it's attached to my GF's PC so I'd rather not deal with the hassle of trying to hog it when she wants to be on her computer haha. Hopefully by the time these games come out, they'll be another BenQ or equivalent in our place.

Probably a good investment at this point, since latency is the main reason I haven't played any of the console Project Diva games (but also because none of them will ever be as good as Project Diva 2nd).

I have no idea why they love the protagonists so much in Japan.

Also here is a preview of the opening themes of the P3D and P5D using sounds from the trailer and concert

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LArvtWyfzY

Hmm, I preferred P3's song on the trailer, but listening to them both here I'm not so sure. P3 has a much stronger "finish" (I'm assuming it's the chorus), but I'm not really feeling that first half. Guess I'll have to wait for the full versions.

Anyway, I finally finished P5. I don't really feel like doing anything else right now. Guess I'll just listen to the OST non-stop and hope I'll get over the post-Persona abstinence soon. Oh, and I feel under moral obligation to say that With the Stars and Us is a damn great track.

With the Stars and Us really grew on me over time. Still least favorite credits theme but it is definitely good.

I'll keep shilling Hoshi To Bokura To because it has honestly become my favorite ending theme. But then again, I really liked the Swear To My Bones track to begin with.

For those of you who've seen the concert, anybody else absolutely love the Futaba tap dancing part? It's so odd and charming.

Ha, thought I was the only one. It's become my favorite credits theme as well. Can't wait to hear the remixes in P5D

Its really good, but imo it doesn't leave a lasting impression like Memories of You and Nevermore.

Its good tho.

Some light final boss spoilers:
Man, they totally should've played Our Beginning towards the end of the actual final boss battle. It's kinda frustrating how much they reuse some songs throughout the game and then when something new and pretty good shows up they play it for like 40 seconds. It's a much more climatic track than the one they chose for the actual fight too. I guess that's the point, but still, at least make the scripted sequence longer like the conclusion to (P3 Final Boss)
Nyx's fight
.

This seems a little too obvious to say , but i wonder if having the dancers of P4DAN cosplay specific characters of P3 and P5 is intentional , like those are the characters those dancers will be working next , like example they had the lady who do Nanako dances in DAN cosplay Caroline , so you already see in the concert what kind of dancing style the twins could had and she will be doing the role of the twins.

(Unless they let Shihoko Hirata have some fun as Justine hahaha).

Like i say is something damn obvious , i think that was the point of having them outside of tease the games and backup the performances they let the dancers dance as their (next) chars too.

Funny how the idea not came to me until i see "Haru" ballet dancing. (Tap dacing for Futaba seems fitting too).

It would help justify them being onstage, since I honestly didn't care for the addition all that much...
(pls back me up on this, Sophia)

Have you beat the game yet? I wanna hear your thoughts on the cast and story. Also wanna hear your favorite party member. You can't say Joker! Lol and 10 points if you don't say Makoto. But if she is... that's fine.

Yeah, I just beat it. I'll Take My Time before writing about it though, right now I just want to reflect on the experience.

I don't know if I can choose a favorite party member though, I like most of them pretty much equally. I wanna say Ryuji right now just because he's a bro and gets way too much unwarranted shit. :p
His voice actor is also the best in the game imo. His delivery is great.

Not any more every single p super bomb video got copyright claim right now.

Wish I would've saved it.

I saw that it was uploaded but was on shitty internet and didn't download it. Didn't anyone arquive it? The NicoNico stream is only accesssible until the end of the month, I need the recording to tide me over until the bluray is released.

Confidant Ryuji is best Ryuji.

His English voice acting is really good.

Regular story Ryuji... well... lol

Early game Ann is best Ann.

Later game Ann is... well... lol

Morgana, Makoto and Futaba are all fighting for number one party member for me.

I was an idiot and put the video on Watch Later instead of download... :(

It's on youtube again. Wonder how long this one will last lol. This uploader had already uploaded it yesterday but it was out of sync. Now it's fine though.

How do you access the niconico stream? The twitch one that was on YouTube has a portion of Gangnam style and some talking during your affection.

Forreal

P3 and P4 have stupidly long final boss themes for their long, protracted final boss

P5's is similarly longish, but only 3 minutes...

Man I can't stop re-watching the P3DMN trailer. P3MC dancing, those awesome shots from the opening(?), the gorgeous track/remix and Yukari looking amazing
