We really need someone in midfield who can dictate the pace and pull the strings, someone like... Coutinho, ya know?

Yeah, missing either Phil or Lallana immensely. Our midfield is comprised of 3 almost identical players.

Missing that link between defence and attack.

Relatively convinced Phil won't play again until after the window shuts. Either for us or another team. Lean more towards us.

Even if he accepted he was staying, can't see him playing in the second leg.

Newcastle fans were spot on about Wijnaldum. I've never known a player to actively hide from the ball as much as he does, especially away from home.

3 league wins in 3 games.

Win in the league cup.

Scored 4 goals in one game.

I don't know what's going on.

Just shows what a mental division this really is.

Burton will likely finish bottom but other than that you might as well pick the other 23 teams out of a hat for where they finish.

Without money I don't think there are two more dependable managers at this level than McCarthy and Warnock.

Baby Trent and Old Man Carra

That's the face I make every time a defender is running at Moreno.

Yep siggy gone for 45 million. Not quite the price swans wanted but it's pretty good. Should give us some spending options (Bony is likely) as well.

Nagelsmann on Klopp saying LFC let TSG have ball in certain areas: "He would say that, he won't say ‘Hoffenheim played well & we were shit'"

German managers are great :lol

(Not being sarcastic! I like how honest they are in their pressers)

The truth is that Hoffenheim outplayed Liverpool today in terms of tactics, but didn't have the individual skills to materialise it.

Missed the second half, but great result. Wish we wouldn't of given up the late goal but we won't have a clean sheet all season.

This is my opinion as well....the "back injury" will persist for a few more weeks and coincidentally get better following the end of the window. Could be a good move by Klopp to keep him out of the spotlight, as he doesn't want his players distracted by off field matters.

I also think the result of the 2nd leg and whether 'Pool make it to the group stage will have a huge bearing on how things play out.

Embarrising the only team below us in the league is Burton Albion...... please do the right think Bruce and resign, 47 points in our last 38 games is appaling
Relegation in 3...2...1

Another good win for Boro. Monk doin' work.

One thing I can say is that at least Klopp and the club identified where they needed improvements. Keita, Van Dijk and Salah were the center pieces that would've improved the side from last season. It's just typical Liverpool to screw up the process. Lovren and Wijnaldum being bench players would've benefited us greatly.

I also don't understand why he keeps playing Moreno. To bump up his value? I get that he brings offensive qualities, compared to Milner and we need midfield depth, which is why Milner is being benched for the midfield right now, but why buy Robertson then? Is he injured?

TAA definitely proving his worth imo. I see him and Woodburn having a solid season and being Liverpool's next youth products to first team.

All in all, very lucky today. Could've easily been another draw.

Best wishes.

According to a few reports including the Telegraph, Chelsea have added Southampton's Cedric Soares to the two-week panic-buying wishlist.

Cedric who?

Better than Lovren. Y'all should sign him.

To be fair, most PL CB's are better than Lovren.

CM again today looked like a massive area of need for us. Teams are pushing the ball right through the centre. CBs have no one covering them.

In my FM17 save, I sold Phil to RM for 80m, then bought Asensio for 35m. Good biznis.

Three games, three wins for Wolves. Say what you want about our levels of investment, taking nine points off Middlesbrough at home and Derby and Hull away is a great start. Just hope Clogger Warnock doesn't have Cardiff kick us in the air for 90 minutes on Saturday.

I'd be dead happy if Mick got to take another team to success; he's still fondly remembered down the Molineux, and there aren't many more experienced and proven Championship managers.

Bony, Chadli, and Allen seem to be the three names being linked right now.

I don't think they could get all three with the £45m, but it probably won't be far off and it would be a much stronger team overall.

Yep, very pleased and Nuno seems like a very talented and modern manager so far. Though to be honest I probably thought the same about Solbakken!

Stunner from Neves

Mick did eventually run out of ideas in the Premier league, but he was fantastic at his peak.

Wouldn't mind another striker before the window closes and Costa is still to come back, dreaming.

I would take Bertrand and Soares over Van Dijk - could probably get both for the money.

Those 2 and Ox and I think that's a good window for us.

Newcastle have signed someone! Google anticipating server difficulties in Tyneside as people try and work out who the fuck Joselu is.

Good job Liverpools tactics enabled them to put the ball in the net twice then.

Your post sounds like something Michael Owen would say.

Apparently Jese Rodriguez is going to Stoke on loan. Is he any good?

Let's just say 4 years ago he was the new Maradona according to Marca/AS in Spain. Right now even those newspapers are saying he's shit.

He even struggled playing for Las Palmas in the 2nd half of last year so much that even Las Palmas refused to sign him for another year. He's also known for some bad off-field behaviour.

But he has a spanish Reggaeton band called Big Flow, so I'm sure the Stoke fans will love him for that, so you can always count on him to cheer a locker room.

Stolen from Twitter:

Wolves' starting XI used so far cost an estimated £23.5m

Their opponents' XIs...
Boro - £56.5m
Derby - £21.5m
Hull - £28m

according to an ed on liverpool rumours, klopp thinks lovren is too rash and matip was a stopgap and he wants to replace them both, contrary to what's said in public. also that they're not learning from the defensive drills.

if true this is partly positive because it means the coaching team isn't the problem. he really needs to try gomez at cb.

For me I think Matip and Clyne/Alexander-Arnold are fine. Lovren and Moreno needs to be replaced asap. They're fine squad players if anything, but they shouldn't start.
