Likewise:) Pcars2 looking dayuuum sexy i see. I didn't sign up this time, and i'm really sad about it. How's it compared to the last game?

It's shaping up really nicely. In the end I wasn't a huge fan of the physics in Pcars 1. They were inconsistent and poor over the limit, especially in the road cars and the ffb was a mess. The tire model and feeling of weight transfer is SOO much better now. You can actually easily drift cars now and really feel the rubber and tire bite, something that again was really lacking in the first one.

AI is massively improved so far too, as well as the menus. Since I have a rift I'm also happy to report that VR is way better. The overall image quality in VR is much more stable and there's a lot less shimmering and pop in from objects and shadows. It's up there with Assetto Corsa now for me in VR.

If they can launch the game without any major bugs I think they'll really have something special on their hands.

Sweet! Glad they got their act together about all the stuff you mentioned as well as FFB. It was pretty rough in the 1st game. Gonna pick it up once it's released. Thanks for the inside scoop.

Lol I would also add that it's extremely playable with a controller now. The first one had pretty bad controller support. I haven't tried the MP or Career yet either so I can't speak to those but from my brief quick races in VR it's much much better.

Nick Pal, are you using a free camera for Dreamfall Chapters or is it just portraits taken from high resolution shots?

There's no free camera available afaik so yeah just cropping into shots. The Final Cut actually supports 21:9 now but DSR still doesn't seem to work and neither did a registry hack above1440p so I've set my desktop resolution to 6880x2880. Realized I'll have to go higher than that though since I'm cropping for portraits..

Any ReShade / SweetFX in there? The game is looking quite nice judging by some of these.

Nope default graphics and settings but that bottom shot has a filter from the photo mode. Photomode is real time though. There's no extra processing like in GT sport/forza.

Nice. I'll keep an eye out for this one - I bought Team Member access to the first PCARs and liked it quite a bit but didn't end up playing the game much at all once it was out.

The new update has improved terrain textures quite a bit. I'm just playing the game, not particularly screenshot hunting, but the photo mode suffices when I see something I like. I want to investigate removing or at least extending the bounding box/dome of shame that restricts the range you can roam in freecam, because it's quite limiting.

Do Otis' tools for Hellblade work for the GoG version?
I usually buy the DRM-free stuff when ever I can, but for the sake ot taking some pics I would switch to Steam...

Okay, why almost everybody are ignoring fact that this game looks just crazy good?
Is there any chance to get the beta build now?

Can you say something about performance? What GPU do you have?

If my GTX970 won't make it with this game, this will be the final reason to upgrade.

I have Project Cars 1 and honestly don't play much - I bought it only for VR tough. But 2 looks great and I don't need any more reason to buy it.

Speaking for myself, but I expect racing games to look better\more realistic than anything else. So a good looking racing game just doesn't surprise me anymore.

Your guess is as good as his:

v1.0.1 of the hellblade tools

Changes:
* Less strict window find logic so it should also work with the GoG build of the game (not tested, but I think it should work)

It doesn't appear so, sorry. Marcellus tested them and they still give the error at the beginning which suggests it can't find the main window, despite the name of it being exactly the same as in the steam version so I have no idea why it fails :( . So to be on the safe side, I'd go for the steam version.

Performance is better than Pcars 1, especially in VR. I have a GTX 1080 and get around 120 fps at 1080p ultra details and around 60-80 fps at 4K in good weather. Rain still drops the fps by a good amount though.

Here's some quick shots with FRAPs showing fps counter. Photomode is capped at 60 FPS though.

If you have a VR headset you really need a 1080 or 1080ti for supersampling. You can see so much further in race sims in VR if you have the pixel density set to 1.5-2.0. Feels like having a new headset.
