So after having a stack of Star Wars singles on my desk for months, I'm bailing on physical for digital. Just bought a Kindle, so how should I get my comics on it? Should I just wait for the cheap collections to come to Amazon and get them there? I would catch up with the collections and then start getting them monthly as individual issues but that would make my library kinda messy and be way more expensive.

Amazon has good prices on digital books and Comixlogy always has sales going on.

Get a CMX account. Then link your Amazon account to it. Comixology is running sales *constantly* and they rotate both weekly sales, monthly sales, short term sales, etc. They will also have huge discount line-wide sales at seemingly random times (Image has done two "anything published before January of this year is 70% off" sales this year already, etc). Once you get used to the discounts, it gets really, really hard to pay full price for comics moving forward and it gets pretty easy to wait for the collections to go on sale and discount (especially if you go HAM on a few linewide sales; your backlog will grow pretty damned fast)

If you're thinking of buying something on CMX full price, check Amazon real quick as well. A huge chunk of kindle comics they sell also give you a CMX copy (Amazon owns CMX), and Amazon is frequently cheaper than the main CMX app.

Also, do you have a library card? If your library is part of the Hoopla digital network, you can "borrow" comic collections digitally as well, and the Hoopla selection is way better than a lot of people expect.

Also check Humble Bundle now and then for big bundled discounts by smaller publishers.

Ultimates #100 is probably the most I've enjoyed a comic in a long time.

It's absolutely bonkers and somehow keeps building and building until the final page. It also sets some very interesting groundwork for the future.

Had no idea it was the last issue, shame. Can't wait to see what comes next.

I love Ultimates, why was it #100?

And its the end? Ffs, is that forever?

He should really do another book then.

Why? Wasn't New Avengers almost universally praised? Justice League has had a long history of having some interesting out-of-the-ordinary characters, so it wouldn't be crazy to see a new Justice League.

Just to be clear, I would want him to do LOSH, but I wouldn't be opposed to an interesting JL book.

Like Detective Chimp and B'Wana Beast

Beautiful.

Legacy numbering at a convenient time (counting the old Ultimate Comics).

I don't know if they made a big deal about the finale but it's a real doozy.

It's an oversized issue, so they squeeze out a teeny bit more comic before it's through.

New Avengers was pretty much the Illuminati, but the main Avengers title, on the other hand, had problems as it went on.

These runs are almost never good. It's the Justice League cycle of Big Seven (or close) -> change some shit -> everyone shits on it -> back to another Big Seven take -> staleness sets in.

The JLI were vindicated by history, but there were a lot of people who disliked it back then. It's a big part of why they get Worf Effected in Morrison's JLA.

I covered this on the podcast, but people buy Justice League because instead of having to buy separate comics for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc, they get a single comic with all of them. This was a big reason behind the original pitch for Bendis' New Avengers, which had the infamous incident with Mark Millar going "What the fuck is a Jack of Hearts?"

People are dumb and only appreciate greatness later.

Al Ewing said on Twitter he didn't let the secret out that it was the last issue because some people stop buying the comic when they know in advance that it's ending.

Apparently Royals isn't solicited past #14 so it sounds like that could be ending too. Wonder if he's moving onto something else after the post-Legacy relaunch.

Damn, I really liked it. Nothing else scratches that cosmic Marvel itch.

Ewing implied on twitter that he's working on new stuff.

SHE-HULK #159
MARIKO TAMAKI (W) • JAHNOY LINDSAY (A)
Cover by MIKE DEODATO JR.
JEN WALTERS MUST DIE Part 1
The LEADER is back and he’s using his gamma-enhanced super-intelligence to strike at She-Hulk! But how do you hurt an almost indestructible She-Hulk? By turning Jen against HERSELF!

Didn't we do this arc already without Leader? Nevermind, I dropped the book after Issue 6.

WAT? So without wings, did Hawkgirl just become Girl?

Yes she became THE GIRL!
Has this been the Hawkgirl that been around for a while? I recently realized that Hawkgirl in the JL show is actually based on something a touch different that is Hawkwoman lol.

Invincible #139:
ANISSA NOOOOOOOOOO! Kirkman, you fuck.

That issue felt so rushed.
We didn't even get to see Robot whip people in his Virtumite-buster before it was destroyed. And yeah I'm mad about Anissa dying so she never has to apologize in person to Mark for what she did. And I'm still wondering what asspull Kirkman is gonna do to make Mark fighting Thragg by himself not be the silliest thing ever.

Pretty much lmao (well she could technically be called a Blackhawk now I guess). She destroyed her wings because she's now devoted to ending nth metal because it's evil.
Yeah she goes by Lady Blackhawk now.
Actually on a side note, having seen the JLU episode with Blackhawk island last month among the others, it was kind of neat seeing it here.

I really liked how they combined the Hawks' mythos with the Blackhawks. 'Twas a nice touch.

I want Hawkgirl back though and have her and Red Tornado join the league.

Hawkman can stay in the dark multiverse for all I care lmao

Doubt anything comics related will come of it, but man, the thought of Hickman on Legion of Super-Heroes...

As long as he doesn't have to deal with continuity problems and tieing into other books/events, he should do great! Would love to see him back on Superhero books no matter what they are lol.

I would like to see her as Lady Blackhawk for a while to see where it goes.
It could have potential of being a good comic with all the stuff that they did with the Blackhawks in this event so far.

I really liked Batman this week. Best dinner.

Astonishing Xmen was interesting, and I'm really curious if they'll be bring back
Xavier
after this book. Probably, right?

Metal was crazy and fun. I knew they were gonna combine when I realized the panel structure and colors. Great touch. I know nothing about Hawkman/Hawkgirl, so that's a bit lost on me. The multiverse map is also super confusing to me. Considering
Dream of the Endless
was in the issue right at the end, are we gonna see more
Sandman
characters? That is bonkers.

I actually didn't know the case with Latour's dad passing was why the delays were so bad. His eulogy in the back was touching. Waiting for Southern Bastards to really get to whatever they're building up for.

I guess that map is from Multiversity, which I haven't read personally, but the map does look confusing lol.

Finally got and read the final issue of Jupiter's Legacy. Felt like a lot of shit happening very suddenly due to lucky timing. Probably my least favorite arc in the series.

I thought the ending wrapped things up too pretty, but I had no idea it was getting a sequel, so I was pretty shocked by the last page. Where the hell would he go with this now??

Can't wait for the dark knights to make their entrance. They are a badass looking group, and I hope they don't turn out lame or such.

And we know a little bit more about the Batman who Laughs.
He has kids (Maybe robins?) with collars around their necks and chains as leashes that he uses like dogs.

I picked up Metal#1 today. I missed The Casting though (I did read the Forge), should I wait until I track that one down, or just go ahead and read it.
