Edit: This topic isn't THAT bad. People don't really mention other games or spend time shitposting. Most complaints here are legit and there are people who want the game to get better. Plus, I don't usually see the same things over and over again here versus on Capcom's official Twitter post, or on Twitter in general. There's no real malicious intent here, ya know? It's just dudes who want MVCI to be the best it can be.

Outside of some instances, this thread is actually pretty tame. Hell, I actually respect most of the people in here.

Kinda funny how Capcom actually made their avatar character female by default, unlike Nintendo/Sakurai/Bamco in Smash (Wii Fit Trainer aside).

That's not Kirin armor but that's still sick as fuuuuck. Hopefully she has actual proportions in-game and doesn't look like a tall dwarf like all of the MH avatars.

Some people with legitimate concerns, some memes, and then 2 or 3 psoters that regurgitate the same type of bullshit over and over and over again, which is very strange to me because I always thought Gaf didnt allow trolling but here we are.

Why is everyone saying that monster hunter and venom are dlc when that hasn't been confirmed anywhere?
The starting roster is confirmed to be 30, so either Hunter and Venom are DLC or they won't be playable at all.
Similar to the statue posted earlier.

Not just the gameplay, though. The roster is one of the most important aspects of the game. There's hardly any newcomers and that shit is hella wack.
So with the roster revealed, I have a question.
I am a little sorry for digging up the functions argument again, but... I'm missing one. We can probably agree, to some degree, that in UMvC3 Wolverine, X-23, and Felicia all share a role. The fast moving, all-offense, many hit combo pressure style.
In MvC:I, who's going to be that character? All-melee high-speed pressure. Since none of the above made it in, and neither X, Jedah, Captain Marvel, Thanos, nor Gamora look like it, aren't we actually missing this archetype? I mean Zero can combo, sure, but he's a hybrid. Dante and Gamora, too. Firebrand flies. I guess DLC Black Panther could of course be that guy, but from what I know of him, I don't expect him to be all out offense either. He doesn't waste movement. He hits you or he does not attack. Swinging wildly is not his style.
So who is the Wolverine function in the game, for lack of a better word?

I think Chun-li fits that description best. Spiderman kinda too but he's got ranged webbing and a lot of aerial based moves too.

The zip leak just covered story mode assets. A character being in the story mode doesn't necessarily mean they are playable or dlc.
I like Winter Soldier but I think he'd be a bad character and I really hope DLC isn't wasted on him. He's just too much of a generic gun and punch guy.

So, do y'all think Thanos is gonna hijack the plot? With Death making an appearance, I would think Thanos would take centre stage at some point.

Hm, I could see Chun-li do that. She's not as much of a charge character in this game as in Street Fighter, is she?
It's a shame we lost all the claws melee characters. But Wolverine and X-23 are mutants and Felicia is a naked catgirl. I can see why all three were dropped in any case. Could have added Blanka, I suppose. Or if any of the other Darkstalkers fit the bill.
I'm still betting on Meio. Yeah, Capcom said he's only an NPC, but they're not above lying.

aye. Thats the question isnt it. I mean, could be that Strider boss I guess (they said hes a npc and...he is, in the base game) or someone not in the files because it's like the last character released and they didnt know at the time of the leak?

I honestly expected Tong Pooh or one of the other Winds (or Solo) if we were gonna have more Strider reps, but Meioh is fine, I guess.

I don't think it'll be grandmaster meio. He's too much of a nobody and I think they'd have deflected like they did with monster hunter if that was the case. They gotta start with characters who aren't in the story mode at all. Be a bad look if all of them are just pulled from the story.
It's a bad look that 80% of the roster is pulled from UMvC3, but that didn't stop Capcom.
They want these characters out before the end of the year, right? It'd make a ton of sense to use characters that already had models made for story mode.

If there's no parity for roster reps. Would be the quickest way to fix the issues they probably didn't realize until later.
