It makes me laugh when people say Harley Quinn is a feminist icon or a role model or something.
Do you even know the character?

Eh recently while don't agree i can sort of see unlike poison ivy due to D.C. recently building her up outside of joker and becoming more independent and her recovery from domestic abusive relationship

In Suicide squad ....。... She's quirky?

I got around to read Doom Patrol vol 1. by Gerard Way & Derington this evening. Would have been last night but I watched Kong instead (which was really awesome!). Yea, I really liked that. Totally new to Doom Patrol so not only was I navigating the kooky plot and delivery, the characters in general were all new to me, so it was an interesting experience. What I loved is that on one level, it's this twisty dense heady at times kinda meta story-within-a-story that you can really take in page to page and unpack, and pick apart. And then at the same time it's just delightfully wacky, very heartfelt and colourful and it's saying to you - hey, this is pretty confusing right now but just roll with the broad strokes, don't worry about it too much. It walks a tight rope between the two, and it goes a long way imo to placing your trust in the team that they will pay everything off if you are feeling confused. The whole team work brilliantly in tandem, and the art just brings the whole thing to life, I don't think I could garner the same enthusiasm for this book without the right art to drive and deliver such a energetic world, but Derington & Bonvillain kill it.

2 for 2 with YA then, really great stuff. I would probably pick Shade (or Megan) in a knife fight, but honestly why pick when you could just have both these books.

Injustice Harley is probably the best way to go about it. She's secretly the best Robin.

"You ever gonna trust me 100%?"
"I don't trust anyone that much."
"Riiiiight....I'll settle for 80."

There is escaping from an abusive relationship and there is allowing yourself to be dominated by a psychopath and being a willing accomplice in his crimes.

We have Renee Montoya, Batwoman, Cassandra Cain, Supergirl, Superwoman, and Lois Lane, but nope it's Harley and Ivy who are the true heroines of feminism.

Yes, because Harley Quinn is so vital in a fight against Doctor freakin' Manhattan.

Come on now.

I'm not asking for a Harley to jump back into an event. I simply want a Harley Quin ongoing that Gels with how she is in simply very other book in the dc line. I want something akin tTo that Harley/Ivy webcomic that Sejic made.

To the kind of person who thinks that, that list would be "Who?", "I thought it was Batgirl.", "Who?", CW Show, "Isn't that the same as the last one?" and Not A Batman Character.

The webcomic that is completely at odds with how Harley is portrayed in suicide squad? That's the main DC Harley and I love that webcomic but no.

I like suicide Hsrley too. I just want an ongoing that's a bit more serious, it'd not like they couldn't run them in tandem.

How do you think it compares to Umbrella Academy (UA was Way writing Doom Patrol without it actually being Doom Patrol)?

Doom Patrol and Shade both exist in the same place where if they had different art teams I don't think either would be near as good, Derington/Bonvillain and Zarcone/Fitzpatrick both bring such strong visual identities to their respective books.

And Casey has the single best origin issue of any superhero ever. That entire sequence was just pitch perfect amazing.

Like, I can see the positive aspects of her: a woman in complete control of her sexuality and how sexual she is, not too mention dominant nature of that. The problem is that it mind-control is typically involved and there's some incredibly dark implications there.

It's the abusive relationship aspect, but in ordwr for that to work you then have to ignore how she's a psychosexual, hypermanipulative, homicidal maniac who knew exactly what she was getting into and stayed in it knowing full well what it was. She willingly committed herself to an abusive relationship, causing a lot of intentional damage to others. She's a psycho.
I'm gonna have to ask for a source on the mass murder.
Mind rape is also questionable.
This is weird. Her fans really want her to be an anti-hero like Harley.
There is nothing heroic about her.
I don't get it either

Fandom are weird

You also forgot WW
Vixen and Black Canary

Zatanna
Emma using Sentinels to slaughter random inhumans.
She didn't kill any. Attempted, though.

Vixen and Black Canary
For the casual fans it would be laurel and Vicente is a decent side character on legends
