Goku's forced inclusion into everything is honestly getting old.

Sure he's the hero, so what. What's the point of having 80 fighters if Goku is in almost every single episode forcing his way in ?
Almost makes me wish we just had regular turns now so that the asshole couldn't do what he's doing.

I'm not seeing the forced part here. Goku has a relationship with Hit, especially after Episodes 71 and 72, so why wouldn't he jumped in when Hit was being double team? And how exactly is Goku an asshole here?

Well that's sort of the point
He has a relationship with everyone. Everything revolves around him

I don't like that Goku has so much focus, but this is an episode where I think his inclusion fits.

No, after 106.

The only episode that felt forced Imo were Episode 102 and 103 when he checked on Gohan's fight.

97 - Tournament stated and almost everyone got spotlight with Basil stealing the show.

98 - U9 attacked Goku.

99 - Goku was only in the beginning of the episode to comment on U9's erasing.

100 - Cali and Kale attack him when he was fighting someone else.

101 - He tries to attack Jiren, Toppo attacked him and sent five Pride Troopers specifically to eliminate him. Kale and Cali were more shoe-horn since they weren't even the main target and Goku just happens to land next to them.

102 - Goku could have been excluded here.

103 - Since Goku wasn't excluded from the last episode, we saw the end of his fight and he check on Gohan, which wasn't needed.

104 - Goku helped Hit because he has a rivalry/friendship with him and he only helped because Hit was being mugged.

So yeah, I only really count two periods where Goku wasn't needed. Most of the time, other people are attacking him.

He could kill all of Goku's friends and son and goku would still save his life just so he could fight him.

You mean like Vegeta?

Lol @ Goku stealing Vegeta's invented moves from the Super manga. He's truly allowed nothing.

Can Vegeta even go SSG at all in the anime? Probably not. Final Flash and thats all you get mate.

He'll go 'Super Saiyan God Super Vegeta'

sad to see my favorite universe before this arc get beat down hard like chumps. Going to hurt even more when Jiren falls like the rest and the universe is then deleted.

After all the working up of the justice team or whatever they are called I forget, they are getting wiped out rather easily.

I only read the manga. (Waiting for a release in german before I watch the Anime.)

Did they really steal Vegetas technique and gave it to Goku? Goddamnit. Why can't they let Vegeta have anything? Vegeta getting the shaft isn't even a funny meme anymore, it's reality.

Why even recruit any people at all if only Goku is allowed to have nice things?

Don't worry gohan will pull out mystic god form any day now,
only to be undercut by goku 3 episodes later
but still

HELLO

KRILIN

Krillin didn't get double teamed.
He probably also didn't even know what was going on with Krillin.

What ArchedThunder said. In fact, Krillin was the person who did the double team when 18 was having a perfectly fair 1-v-1 fight.

Also, why are you only getting on Goku? Where was the rest of team? Where was 17 who saw what happened and even comment on it? Heck, why didn't he even try to help his own sister when 18 was willing to help with 17's fight?

Again, what is this double standard?

Yet he knew what was going on with Hit ? What ? And since when has Goku cared about 2 on 1, he's usually happy to fight multiple enemies at once, he's not 17.

We're talking about Goku directly interfering with someone else fight, which was a fair one-v-one. Goku being jumped doesn't bother him, but he has a problem when someone does it to another. Like was fine with U9 mugging, but didn't like U11 teaming up on Cali and Kale. If Dypos and Hit stood one-v-one and Hit got ringed out, I doubt Goku would help.

Actually, Vegeta got the idea for the move by watching Goku and Hit's fight in the manga. So it was Goku's technique that he improved upon.

OK, that was a great episode. Easily one of the best in the tournament so far.

Structure-wise, the tournament should've been like this from the start. The episode focused on one major fight with its ups, downs, and conclusion, instead of jumping awkwardly between fighters. I hope this continues in the remaining episodes.

The SSG retcon was whatever, but I can live with it. The rest was really good and full of nice details and character moments.

I hope they don't go all creepy with Roshi's episode next week.

But it's a battle royale it should be like that

Learned one thing this episode. Zeno cannot keep up with high speed action. If alone or in favorable conditions, I think Hit could actually assassinate him.

Hit can assassinate a person who tanked his own multiverse attack? That would be pretty impressive.

This episode showed us that it didn't have to be that way, and gave us the most fleshed out tactical fight in the tournament so far while taking advantage of the battle royal format with 4 different fighters from 3 different universes involved.

Now imagine if the Piccolo/Gohan fight last episode got the same treatment, instead of being squeezed in the last 10 minutes of the episode.

I agree, the best episodes of the tournament are the ones that are focused.

Hit and Dypso was the battle of two powerhouses who gave the ace of one universe one of the hardest fights of his life. U10 at the end of the day was fodder and really didn't need an entire episode devoted to them. I would see your point if the person Gohan fought could actually hurt Ultimate Gohan.

The fact the the Roboverse still has 7 people tells me that they're gonna do something cool with them.
Or they all just get knocked out together.

Well if they're going to be more focused wouldn't it be a good idea to leave uni 7&6 out for a few episodes maybe have two other universes go at it
None of the other Universes outside of 6 and 7 are developed enough right now to carry an episode.

I don't see them pulling another U9 unless it's something drastic. Like Jiren getting off his butt and eliminating all of U6 in one episode.

I think U11 could and should carry one episode, just so can get something from Jiren. I even think U2 could carry, if paired for with U11.

Well, they're fodder because the writers chose for them (and most of the non-U6/7 fighters) to be fodder, and looking back that wasn't the right call to make.

Anyway, since we got rid of most of the "fodder", I hope that the next episodes will be more like this one, with longer, more fleshed-out fights where the opponents are on an equal footing.

There are two things I'd guess could happen, after the magazine reveal that they're all controlled by Paparoni, the scientist looking one.

-The robots all combine into a giant robot. Although that certainly means them all getting taken out in the same episode.

-The scientist is taken out, and, while most robots just stop, that super hero-like guy is actually freed from his control and power ups due to that. That's why he has an unmasked design.

Well if you don't count the two protagonist Universes and the remaining Pride Troopers there are only 22 fighters left, so I think most of the upcoming episodes will be pretty focused, but maybe not all of them.

Less than half of U7 can be classified as fodder: Roshi, Tien, and Krillin. We then have the mid-tier which are Piccolo and 18. The other half, are god or closed to god-level: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Frieza.

Most of U6 is mid-tier with Cabba, Cali, Kale, and Megatte. Botamo was fodder and we have no clue about the two Namekians and that doctor.

U10 was going to be fodder and it makes sense for a story POV given Gowasu and Zamasu's reaction to Super Saiyan 2 Goku in the Future Trunks Saga. Having some random mortal even closed to Goku would raise questions. The fact that they had someone who could give base form Gohan a hard time is actually pretty good. Plus, Gowasu was too paralyze with guilt to chose a good team and U10's God of Destruction was a lazy idiot and went 'muscles'.

lmao Dyspo ain't no power house

When your only shtick is 'I'm really fast' and you get countered within a few minutes, you're just a jobber waiting to happen

Dude got knocked of the stage twice in the span of a few minutes.. come on

That isn't the correct used of the word 'jobber' and Dyspo took hits from someone who could floor Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, even 'killed' him, and is an overall smart fighter. That's like saying Goku isn't a powerhouse and is a jobber because he got his ass kicked by Black.

Finally puts the rumours to rest that SSJG is stronger than SSJB, would've been nice to see more of an explanation but whatever could have been a lot worse. Better than the manga interpretation.

Hit is such a badass, great to see his dynamic with Goku develop.

I wish Toei had the balls to create new techniques for Goku, Vegeta, Gohan etc. Some variation would be nice.

Mainly want it because they can use it for DBFZ

Dypso did more against Hit than either Goku or Vegeta did in their first fights. And Hit couldnt tank his punches. He's Blue level at the very least.

I wouldn't call Kale mid-tier, but other than that you got a point.

But then again, why didn't they match the fighters of similar levels to each other? I think it would've been far more interesting to see the earthlings handling and outwitting the U9 fighters who seem to be slightly stronger than them, than what we got with Goku and Vegeta eliminating them in one go.

Same goes for U10 who all just got dominated by much more stronger fighters, some of them off-screen even. I think things could've been more and interesting and tense this tournament if the opponents were on an equal footing most of the time, instead of one always dominating the other.
