I can't wait to dive into another 100+ hours of Destiny content. I'm frankly surprised at how hype I am for all of this.

Curious who this is. She seems to show up a couple of times in the trailer.

haha...
wait you're serious?

It actually has fantastic lore, it was the way the story was told in Destiny 1 that was a genuine clusterfuck. And there was also no character development whatsoever and pace was a catastrophe.

Rise of Iron and The Taken King handled these 3 aspects much better though. And the story in Rise of Iron had a sense of trajectory to where it was going and had solid pace.

The lady in the second picture is Hawthorne

She's described by Edge's article as one with withering sarcasm, so I can see she and Cayde would get along very well

Her name is Hawthorne. She's in charge of the farm you go to in Destiny 2.

This bag is hers also I believe in the Collectors Edition.

I want to love Destiny, but I can't find it in me to love it. I still remember the reveal magazine from game informer and how awesome it sounded. My imagination and desire created a hype for the game, it could never meet. The game being the big new pillar for Bungle, I wanted an epic story with twists and turns and betrayals accompanied by excellent game play.

Played vanilla Destiny and never went back. Played the demo for 2, again I want to like it, excellent game play but I don't find that universe interesting at all.

Hopefully by the time the collectors edition comes out, it'll peak my interest.

Not for me. All the drama can't wipe away what the game will most likely be. And no Nathan Fillion being Nathan Fillion in Marvel world lol so crazy so deadpan so rolleyes again doesn't cut it.

Keen to see what players think a couple weeks after launch though. If it's genuinely progressing, then I'll be in.

She showed up in the Edge article.

Her name is Suraya Hawthorne

sarcastic sniper that you meet almost immediately in EDZ, she takes you to the farm.

At least, I assume it is her.

Edit: oh beaten

Destiny does have great stories and lore. Unfortunately it wasn’t actually in the game itself and instead was located online through the grimoire.

Destiny does have an excellent and deep lore, for sure, and I'm loving it so far, I would read books about the Destiny universe before the Collapse without hesitation.

But for the story, I can't say it has been good so far, even with The Taken King and Rise of Iron. It was sure improved from the first one we got with D1 and the Black Garden, and it was a very good way to introduce us to the Raid, but I always felt the story was the weakest part of Destiny.

Even the mission design for story mission has always felt flat to me, and the mission we got in the D2 beta gave me the same impression, that the mission in the Destiny may be the less enjoyable and replayable contant in a Destiny game (I will have to wait the full game to be sure of this, that's just my impression after playing the "Homecoming" mission).

Oh just curious, as I've been myself very disappointed by Destiny 1, what were you expecting from Bungie new game when it was announced?

i actually watched every cut scene and it was terrible from start to finish.
i hate the CaydeWhatever character and he seems to be even more prominent in this -> skip.
Yeh, you're confusing the story with the lore. I'm not going to criticize you for not knowing it since it required you to actually look it up externally to the game but you shouldn't shrug off the praise for it. The lore surrounding the characters, both seen and unseen, is incredibly rich in areas. Particularly around Oryx through the Book of Sorrow.

Assuming the lore is now actually in the game, you should be excited for it as it's very compelling. I'm guessing the storyline will largely focus on the situation unfolding at the time, but I'm holding out for in-game Grimoire of the same calibre as D1 to fill out more of the history and surrounding events.

Cautiously optimistic. Have it pre ordered to play with friends but I can't help but be a little skeptical. Hoping my fears will be alleviated.
