I really dont give he fuck if he comes back or not. Just give me more of that episode 8 and the last episode kettle shit. I love that weirdnes.

Mostly agree. With 3 episodes left, most likely ever, I want to know as much about the Woodsmen and the Lodges as possible. If that means little or no Cooper, fine. Then again, if we get little or no Cooper so we can see Dr. Amp for the umpteenth time or 20 more minutes of Chad, Naido and the drunk in the cells making noises, then boo I say. Boo!

The other thing too is that while it appears we are finally getting Cooper back, I still think there are going to be those disappointed by what we get - I can't imagine that a Cooper who has seen some shit and experienced what he has in the past 25 years is going to come back out the other side the same bubbly, wide-eyed optimist he once was.

Next Episode:

Janey-E: "DOUGIE, DOUGIE OH MY GOD DARLING ARE YOU OK?!?!"

*Cooper sits up*

Coop: "Ms Jones, you're a treasure but I'm afraid I'm not your husband"

Janey-E: "....Dougie???"

Coop: "I know it's difficult to understand, but I'll explain everything over a nice cuppa Joe."

Janey-E: "DOUGIE JONES WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT AND WHERE ARE YOU GOING WITH THE PHONE!!??"

Coop: "Rules are rules, Ms Jones-- I have to contact my superior Gordon Cole and file a report for the last 25 years"

*Doorbell rings, Sonny Jim opens the front door*

Harry: "Coop! I've been looking for your for 25 years!! Diane and I have been working together to find you! Look I even bought some Cherry Pie with me like ol' times."

Annie: "I'm here too Coop! Norma and Big Ed are getting married and you're invited to join!"

I stopped watching this trailer after 10 seconds since there were other things on Youtube at that point. The only way I would even bother watching the rest would be Morgan returning but it sounds like that won't happen and likely never will. Even if it did, we get three measly fucking hours of him or less? Might as well not even bother as it would be a joke at that point.

For me, The Good Life is as good as dead. This is the last post I'll make in this thread out of respect for people who do want the game and don't want to see arguments in here.

P.S. SWERY can go fuck himself with his bullshit

10/10 shitpost

Was there ever an explenation for why Dougies house has a red door and is placed in Sycamore street?
Sycamores are important imagery. Sycamore trees surround the scorched engine oil that is the entrance to the Black Lodge. Jimmy Scott sings the song "Sycamore Trees" in the Lodge. When Gordon is almost pulled into that vortex the house is at something Sycamore street. The red door represents the red curtains of the Lodge. Dougie was created in the Lodge so I guess he has a fondness for it.
It sure is something that Bobby is the one putting James in jail now when back in the pilot Bobby and Mike were the ones barking at James from those same cells.

EDIT: This made me look up the international pilot ending out of curiosity and found what sounds like the weird humming from the Great Northern that Ben Horne heard and that James heard in the furnace room, while BOB is talking:

https://youtu.be/MLrwVk7ywqo?t=323
I love the international pilot. "I'll catch you in my death bag." Seems like Mike is the one that makes that sound so the question is why is he in the walls of the Great Northern and in this furnace room.

*fist bump* I could watch a three hour movie of Kettle Philip talking about Judy.

So I guess we know now that the Place Above The Convenience Store is not the same place as the Black Lodge/Waiting Room eh?

Considering Mr. C has been avoiding being pulled back into the Waiting Room all season and he just waltzed into the Convenience Store.

Speaking of fascism - remember that time Lynch tried to do a lecture in Berlin and it didn't work out so well?

"I am not understanding the German"

Never saw this before...

were any of these schools actually built in Europe?

"Lynch is working to found a series of "invincible universities" across Europe. The institutions would integrate traditional courses in subjects like science and the humanities with the philosophy of Transcendental Meditation, a meditation technique pioneered in the 1950s by the Indian guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Plans for such institutions are underway in Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, and Scotland. The Scottish project is being co-sponsored by the 1960s folk music icon Donovan."

It seems to be a conduit to different interdimensional locations. He has to ask to see Jefferies and then the Woodsman did some electronic hinky shit before he arrived at the motel (presumably Dutchmans..). I watched a video where someone said that was the same Hotel that featured in FWWM where Leland was meeting Tereza Banks.

Last year, I bought a book about 'the music of David Lynch' as I was expecting it to be an interesting insight into both the scores of his movies (and work with Angelo) and his sound design approach, which I find fascinating.

Unfortunately, the book is 90% TM-pushing bullshit. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you care what Duran Duran thinks about TM. Do I have a problem with mediation? Absolutely not. But everything around TM has a Scientology flavour to it that leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

I watched a video where someone said that was the same Hotel that featured in FWWM where Leland was meeting Tereza Banks.

When Mr C enters the building and the Woodsman is sat down and flips the switch on the machine (that makes Jumping Man appear), the contraption is the same one from the Convenience Store scene in FWWM as well. Not sure if that particular Woodsman is supposed to be the same (the one in FWWM was a decidedly cleaner-looking fellow with a mighty beard played by Kyle's dad from Dune).

I know it's wishful thinking, but has anyone else considered what a fitting tribute it would make if Lynch licensed and re-purposed footage from David Bowie's last music videos for an appearance in the new series? It would be a great way to at least see Phillip Jefferies 25 years later along with the rest of the cast, and the videos definitely fit the vibe of the show this season...

I was hoping for anything, hell a over fx'd skype convo fading in and out of a vortex in the lodge would have been ace.

Lynch obviously won't do that, but Blackstar does feel a bit like the Convenience Store meeting from FWWM in how weird it is.

Talking about that meeting and how it relates to the latest episode, I guess that you can go from the Convenience store to the Black Lodge, considering one Woodsman used that light thingy and MIKE and Bob went into the Lodge afterwards.

It’s a real shame Bowie didn’t at least do the voice for Jeffries. What we have now just feels so...compromised.

At first it sounded uncannily similar to him, but the rest of it sounds... Eh. I can suspend my disbelief at least.

Jeffries' doppelganger got let loose.

That's my headcanon and i'm sticking to it!
I miss Bowie ;-;

Ending of the Cole's arch: *On the phone* "PHILLIP IS THAT YOU? YEAH I GOT A NEW CASE FOR YOU. IT'S IN BERLIN, I'LL MEET YOU THERE"

Eh, I didnt have a problem with the redubbing. Bowie's accent in the film was super over the top, and this new dub is also in that same vein. Its obviously not the best outcome, but Jeffries seems to be a very important character for david lynch, probably since before FWWM, so he probably wanted his presence very much in the series.

I do find the difference between the dub and the og FWWM scenes to be jarring. I know people didn't have as much of an issue with it that week but the ''do you know who that is there'' dub sounded way worse to me compared to the original, and I thought it was some newly released alternate take back then. I don't really have an issue with the new actor during the teapot scene though.

So, I get that they wanted things to sound consistent, but I would've preferred if they had kept the original David Bowie audio where applicable. OH well.

I'm gonna need a fan edit that doesn't touch anything but that. :p

Is there a fan edit that takes out Jame's storyline from the second half of season two? a friend of mine wants to get into the show but I don't wanna put her throught that awful experience.

lol, James' story isn't even the worse part of Season 2.

Season 3 is at least carrying the torch of half bad half good ratios. Should have expected it!

What in the fuuuuuuuuuck? I really hope that other dude was just terrible at public speaking or something and just monumentally misspoke when Hitler was brought up. It's understandable though, their concern. "Invincible Germany" probably sounds really bad to them whereas you say "Invincible Ireland" and the Irish are probably like, "right on!"

Finally catching up on this weeks episode. The scene in the diner with Ed and Norma at the start of the episode was just beautiful.

BorkBork

The Legend of BorkBork: BorkBorkity Borking
When Ed closes his eyes to his music and Norma's hand appears in the frame... Damn.
That alone makes up for all of the season's teases and exercises in frustration (even though I enjoy those)

Richard being born didn't kill that theory for me, but her house being decorated with pictures of Cooper did. I really wonder what's going on with her because her scenes are definitely 'off,' in the most deliciously unsettling way possible.

have there been unconfirmed appearences in the show? I need to know how Annie is.

Hard to imagine that Heather Graham will not be in it at all.

Huh? when did this happen?

You do realize that someone can be raped in a coma and their body stuff produces a child. It's also very likely she had a photo of Cooper - she was pretty obsessed with him for a bit.

That's too sick even for lynch, though it can explain why he is so messed up
