I haven't really touched my Switch since I beat Zelda.

I've got Zelda, Mario Kart, Snipperclips, Rabbids and Shovel Knight. But if you got your Kart fill on WiiU and played indies on other platforms already it's a bit limited. But Rabbids is really good and Mario Odyssey will be amazing.

My GF stole my Switch to play Zelda in March and only gave it back yesterday, lol.

I'm still enjoying my Switch. Finished the story in Zelda and will go in on the DLC around Christmas. Picked up Rabbids yesterday and it's pretty good. Mario Kart keeps my son and I busy too. The Switch is all I'm playing on atm.

Going to japan on weekend of tokyo game show, worth my time?

Also, hit me up with recommendations of places to go!!
If you haven't been to the Ghibli Museum and enjoy their films, do it. You'll need to book now from a local agent and have the tickets delivered before you go.

Just jumped back into botw after a couple of months playing. Joycons ran out of battery whilst playing, i swear the universe doesnt want me to complrte this game.

Back to overwatch. Deathmatch is quite fun!

Hmmm EB is selling Steamlinks for $27. I grabbed one. Will be interesting to see if it's actually viable to play games streamed from my bedroom PC into the living room. Anyone have any experience?

Steamlinks are great, especially over ethernet.

We don't need ours anymore, but when we did we played through multiple games on the TV.

Have used on both wireless and wired, works fine, wireless obviously dependant based on your location.

Thanks for the heads up, glad they went on special again. Picked one up myself :)

The only other somewhat recent gaming platforms I have now are a Wii U and a PS3. Well, I've got a Macbook Air too but that can only do so much. I left my gaming PC at home when I got married and then just realised that I could do without it, and PC gaming is not really that compatible with marriage + fatherhood. I catch a train 1.5 hours each way to work 3 days a week. The Switch is pretty much the dream console for my use case.

Obviously it's never going to get the same quantity of third party support as the PS4/XB1, but it seems to be getting enough for me. Give me Nintendo games, indies, sports games (FIFA looks like it'll be good enough, I'm hoping NBA 2K18 is as well), and Japanese third parties and I literally don't have enough time to play all the games I'd want anyway so at that point extra third party support is moot.

Now just give me Virtual Console Nintendo you morons.

I am guessing we will see VC once the SNES minis have come and gone. The Switch is a great piece of hardware, it's everything the Vita wanted to be with the bonus of being a console as well, love it.

It's actually, objectively, better than a dream console for this purpose. I find myself playing it undocked at home even when there's a perfectly good HDTV available.

Only accessories you'll need are a screen protector and carry case and I'd recommend the Pro Controller for home use. This first-party case comes with a screen protector - you won't know it's there. Pro Controller also comes with a USB-C cable that can be used to charge the Switch itself so you don't need to buy this separately. Battery life on the Pro Controller is pretty good, so maybe leave the USB charger at work to make sure it's juiced and ready to got for the homeward commute.

Now just give me Virtual Console Nintendo you morons.

The selection of indie titles went from barren to gluttonous in the last couple of months so that should tide you over until Nintendo start offering whatever service it is they're implementing to succeed VC.

Yeah I'm getting a pro controller and that case/screen protector. I didn't know that about the USB-C cable, so that's good. Yeah I was trying to think how to charge it at work. So does it only charge with a USB-C cable?

Yeah, the indie games look good, but really I need them to give us GameCube games so I can buy Super Monkey Ball.

The Switch only charges via USB-C. Same plug for the controller. The dock is the only dinky piece of kit in the box and is a cheap contrast to the stellar design of the Switch itself. It's literally just a plastic tray with that connects your Switch via UCB-C and has external connections for AC power, USB and HDMI out. No biggie - it will sit under your TV and you'll never look at it.

I didn't buy a Pro Controller until a week after getting the Switch, so getting the cable was a nice surprise as I was researching third party cables and discovered the nebulous world of USB-C.

Can you get someone in Australia to do it?

Clipper's about to buy a $1,300 LEGO set, I'm sure he could shout you $50 of credit until you pay him back =P

Thank god Blizzard fixed this culturally insensitive sign!

LOL the fuck is that TAKE OUT shit. I don't now what they do in America, but you take your food and then you take it away with you.

Yeah, they probably meant take it out of the restaurant? When I lived in the states took me awhile to get used to it. "Doggy bag" is another.

the take-away is that aussies say takeaway, americans say takeout for food but use take-away as meaning "thing we learned from an event."

now, i feel like getting a takeaway tonight after work. Thankfully, Brits use takeaway, too (I have a UK Pizza hut Takeaway menu staring at me right now).

Fuck, so many games. First reviewed Everybody's Golf, then Jak 1 came through, then Wonder Boy, now Uncharted Lost Legacy & Yakuza Kiwami turn on the same day I start another new game! Feels like Q1 all over again.

Bout bloody time! Damn galahs!

The sooner everything is USB C the better, no more fumbling with cables which always are around the wrong way the first time you try, never mind the power benefits.
Yeah quick charge is insane. Phone is good to go after like half an hour lol.

I might be having a moment since I've been out of aus for too long, but what's the standard way to ask for leftovers to be packaged up then?
I would say "can we take this plate to go please?"

Phew looking at getting a new 55C7 oled tomorrow and a PS4 pro any advice with regards to getting a discounted rate ( hidden vouchers?)

getting one with the old man as well

My TP-Link TD-W8970 router keeps dropping out every time I use P2P. Not just torrents but games that use it too. I think it gets overloaded by the number of connections. Is there a way to limit p2p connections that won't effect playing games?

If not...anyone recommend a decent router?

Have they learned nothing about the internet?

"VICTORIANS HAVE A ONCE-IN-A-GENERATION OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THEIR MARK ON MELBOURNE BY NAMING THE METRO TUNNEL’S NEW UNDERGROUND RAIL STATIONS."

http://metrotunnel.vic.gov.au/stations/suggest-a-station-name

Luckily it isn't by popular vote, though now I'm curious about some of the names they'll get.

Bruce (Stanley Bruce)

Bazza (Redmond Barry)

Davo (Lex Davison)

Johno ( Getrude Johnson)

Jacko (Williams Jackson VC)

Fully expect to win.

All depends on how much you want to spend. Picked up an Asus RT-AC68U ($190) at the beginning of last year and it has solved pretty much all the issues I had with my Billion 7700n ($60). The Billion would saturate with P2P connections easily and couldn't cope in the summer due to the heat.

I really like my ASUS router. RT-Ac68u I think it is.
