Finally went through the re-translation of Vento Aureo.

Guido Mista was probably the biggest change.

Went from what felt like a quirky oddball with OCD to a #simplelife bro with minor superstitions.

Abbacchio came off differently as well. He actually has personality this time. It's short and bitter but it's still an improvement to the meh he was in the original fan translation I read.

I think it was. That and I'm pretty sure people on here stated that Jonathan's design is modeled after Kenshiro. Araki didn't start developing his own style regarding the protags till Joseph.

Sooo, that DNA one-shot...

I guess those two guys are completely unrelated? And just have similar habits?
How did he not notice his son got "camouflaged"?
Why does he has "wet feet"?
Why did the guy say they should marry, but then the woman said she was "newly-wed"?

What a nonsensical story.

The frienship dynamics between Josuke and Yasuho are definitely one of my favorite things about Jojolion and one of the things that makes we want to keep reading

I definitely agree. I would actually be surprised if they don't get together in the end, barring something awful happening to one or both of them.

Karasu was before KQ
I'm kind of not surprised though I do misjudge how old the parts are relative to other mangas. So Araki liked Karasu? I don't know what to think now. Karasu would fit in as a Jojo villain design wise. He's not that far from Risotto design wise.

YYH started about a year before Part 4, so yes Araki definitely based a lot of stuff off YYH. I wouldn't be surprised if Togashi and Araki compared notes and shared a lot of ideas, actually. They're both people who're not at all bothered by taking ideas from other things.

So either Araki got the idea from Togashi, or they came up with explosion villains together over lunch or whatever.

Togashi: "My explosion man is going to look like a goth dude that likes the Cure."
Araki: "My explosion man is going to look like David Bowie."
I will admit that Part 4 does remind me of early YYH in a way.

Gen's still one of the more
devastating characters
in HxH
(with an arguably more reliable ability than KQ - when it comes to the place of Greed Island) but not really enough to the main cast so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
