SNES Classic Preorder Shitshow Discussion (Please Read Rules in OP)

So I realized I have every game on the SNES classic in some form or another (sans Star Fox 2), mostly real carts, and I'm thinking to just cancel my preorder.

My reasoning for getting it in the first place was a) it's cool and b) those classic controllers for use on Wii and Wii U. I took a look at the list of games that even support classic controllers and uh it's pretty sparse in terms of what would be even nice to play with those controllers.

Anyone want to convince me to keep it? The more I think about it, the more it seems like a waste of $112 on an emulator box.

I bet you'll find plenty of people who would like to convince you to sell them your preorder

Yeah I just don't like selling things or dealing with idiots or shipping. At best I might be willing to send it to someone in Quebec at cost due to the stupidness of it not being sold there.

Yeah, very understandable. Shipping, especially when something goes wrong, is a huge hassle

Cancel it.

You totally won't regret it on the 29th when you see all the posts of people hyped to be getting theirs

Just got an email saying that my Target pre-order was canceled due to a "technical issue". I am beyond crushed. :'( what is this world coming to?? Seriously?

That's bull crap, man. Sorry to hear. This is why I smh when people say we create inventory issues ourselves by ordering multiple units. Yeah -- because if we don't, we're likely to not get one at all, because it seems none of the retailers can actually do what they exist to do -- sell products -- without high risk of shitting the bed.

Speaking of Target, they put what I believe is the third authorization hold on my card this morning for the SNES I preordered. They reeeeally want to make sure I can pay for this thing. Maybe there is an issue with your card and their attempt to place a new auth hold triggered this "technical issue"? I'd call 'em up and ask for more details ASAP in case there is anything they can do.

That sucks. If it's any consolation, Nintendo will make more in 2018 so hopefully they will be easier to find.

I want one at launch and my friend offered me his extra for 120, should i brave the lines that morning or take him up on it?

Nice "favor" by your friend, lmao.

Yeah I have two extras I was hoping to make some money from, but now I'm just going to sell them to friends who didn't get pre-orders at cost.

I would go as far as saying a person scalping his extra SNES Classic to you for $120 is probably not someone that you should want to consider a friend.

Just lost my preorder due to misclick on the game.co.uk mobile site, not having a confirm cancel option is beyond maddening. Spent an hour on hold to be told tough shit. No more shopping at Game, almost seems worth it.

This is really only a $20 markup after tax and shipping depending on where you order the snes classic. Really depends how much your time is worth.

I had my order cancelled by Amazon because I live in Hawaii. Just got a call from Amazon. Guy on the phone told me that my order was indeed not supposed to be cancelled. They still can't do anything about my old order, but they did set me up with a new order on their next shipment, I guess. It's a placeholder item with zero indication that it would be a SNES Classic. Dude added it to my cart and then had me confirm the order. I asked if he knew when it would ship and he said he had no idea.

So there's that. This basically confirms that it wasn't an issue of the item being "dangerous goods" and that they probably oversold.

I got the same email too about my debit card. Best Buy won't let me change my payment method. Hopefully it will be fine since it's a pickup order.

The best thing to do with Best Buy is just to wait. It'll notify you if there's a problem with your current payment method and to update it at that point. If you try to deal with customer service, you have a higher risk of losing the order if they screw up.

Same here. Pretty satisfied now :)

Didn't get that yet. But they did give me some credit last week or so for the inconvenience.

I wonder what would be worse paying your friend extra for the SNES Classic, or if the friend refused to sell you the SNES Classic because he didn't want to gouge you.

So...

When will Amazon updates the delivery date for the SNES Classic? We're approaching the deadline (only 17 days) and we have 0 info on our orders... XD... This is the most tense preorder I ever had in my entire life... :/

All I got was a $5 credit when I contacted them through chat after my order was cancelled :( I'm assuming you contacted them earlier to get a call back now? What did you say to them?

Edit: I wonder if they did try to call today. What area code did they call from?

Wtf....nice friend you have there.

I was able to secure a second for a friend and told him to just pay me what I paid for it. I wouldn't dream of trying to make money off of a friend for a preorder. Gross

Is it normal for my Best Buy status to still be "Processing"? It's been like that since I preordered a couple weeks ago.

I would like to attempt to get one of these. How would a simple gaijin go about this?
