SNES Classic Preorder Shitshow Discussion (Please Read Rules in OP)

Don't click the spoiler if you don't want to get mad at me:

I've had a preorder since the thing was announced but I'm not sure whether to keep it or cancel it

If I cancel it I'll post here just in case it becomes available on Amazon UK for a few moments afterwards

You think you are returning something to a physical store or something?

No, it does NOT work like that. How did you even imagine it worked like that?

He's not the first person or the last to think like that (and say/do the same thing) in this thread and other sold-out pre-order threads (I remember it from Switch pre-launch threads).

But yeah, that's not how it works.

Although to be fair if you order something on Amazon that says "only 1 left in stock", it will become unavailable to purchase after you place your order, and then if you cancel your order before it ships the 1 unit will be back in stock a short while after you cancel the order (like ~30 minutes to 1 hour after, from my experience). But I don't think this happens with pre-orders of unreleased products.

that sucks i really should make my job the default address. ups loves to f me over when it comes to delivery at my house.

That's a good idea. I use my work address as default since I know I'll most likely be there. I live in an apartment so if I ship it home they usually drop it at the rental office which is annoying sometimes.

I have 9 pre-orders. Fight me.

Please no, I would lose the fight so easily lol

Haha nah. 100% serious. It's for my big sister. We kinda bonded through playing the SNES (Super Mario World, Mana) back in the day. She was excited to hear about the product, so I told her I would buy one for her.

I feel like I am in the clear, but I still cannot help being worried about a sudden cancellation. I'll be keeping my pinky toes crossed for me and everyone else in this thread.
I'm crossing my toes and fingers as well, good luck to you!

I have 9 pre-orders. Fight me.

In chronological order:

1x Amazon.co.uk
1x Amazon.de
1x Amazon.it
3x Amazon.com
2x Amazon.fr
1x Amazon.es

G L O B A L B O Y Z

Many of these will be cancelled once release date approaches and I know which options are lowest cost for me and some will be shipped to friends/GAFers.

please give me one of your amazon.com order...:(

An ad I just got on NeoGAF:

I hope by "indirectly" you mean the co-worker is giving this to you as a gift because if any money exchanges hands, your co-worker could lose his exchange privileges for life. The rules about who can shop at the exchanges and what they can do with the items purchased there are very strict. Not only that, but exchanges are a benefit designed to thank and support those who have served. They aren't supposed to be abused by civilians looking to save on tax or to obtain an item that is meant to be sold to someone who has agreed to potentially give up their life in defense of this country.

As someone in the military, lmao for an item like this, who gives a fuck.

So I moved into a new house a month ago but I am deathly afraid of updating my address/bank information until I have my snes classic because I dont want to give Best Buy any shred of possibility of cancelling my order. Kind of insane.

Stock Informer is kinda useless. I've been signed up for email/text alerts on it in the UK and always receive them 10 or so minutes after it's back in stock.

By that time it has always been sold out again. Looking like I'll have to take my chances on eBay or hope a gaffer sells one in the BST thread...

Serious question...

I'll be in the US on the second week of November... what are the chances of I getting one?

November. These things sell on the 29th and will most likely be sold out by the people lining up to get it. Extra shipments will probably happen, but will go out the same way.

What I've learned from this thread and RetroPie builders is that Nintendo should simply release a dedicated, mult-system Virtual Console unit. It should at minimum cover NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, and GBA games. It should also have a WiFi eShop and stay in stock indefinitely. Give it a new yet somewhat small design, include 2 controllers, and it should run about $100.

GC, Wii, Wii U, DS, and 3DS games are graphics heavy and or need special inputs. For those games I'd go the remaster and or VC routes for newer systems. And I still want Nintendo to do a massive Switch Virtual Console. The best one yet. I'll also need a D-Pad Joy-Con too. Yes, I'll buy a mini N64 if I have too for N64 games, but these limited edition mini consoles are starting to get silly. Just how many of these things do we really want lined up in the living room? I can't say I really want more than one.

I just deleted my PTO that day and I'll rely on the fact that I hope my Amazon.com preorders come through. So far haven't had any issues with them so I'm fine.

Does anyone else keep getting temp charges placed on their card by Target?

They charged me three times already

Yes, I got charged on the 5th of September and on the 28th of August, I checked my account this morning and it seems to have disappeared. Probably a temporary charge.

if the NES is any indication, you'll never get one.

Well, some people were able to get them ;) Just takes a willingness to wait at a store before launch, as well as folllowing Wario64 on Twitter.

I was able to get a NES Classic by buying one off Amazon Prime Now, shipping to New York, and then my co-worker there mailed it to me.

There's always a chance.

I just moved and changed my shipping address and no problem so far.
Yeah and it's probably safer to do it now before Amazon gives delivery estimates to the orders. Changing it after that might cause your delivery date to slip or become "pending" again (although that hasn't been my experience in the past).

Yeesh what a troll
My debit card that I used for two snes - 1 USA 1 Europe expires in 2019 but I got an email saying it may have been compromised and will deactivate on September 21........
A new one is on the way

Fuck

Yeah I can't change all of these charges to my credit card huh
I'm fucked :/

I got the same email too about my debit card. Best Buy won't let me change my payment method. Hopefully it will be fine since it's a pickup order.

Will drop pants for Sony.
So this showed up on my twitter. If I am reading this correctly reservations start on Saturday September 16 and more units will be shipped after 10-5.

Except Quebec. :(
Maybe when they re-print these for 2018, they'll fix the language issue and you guys can reliably get them. Hopefully. :/

But yes, incredible news about SNES Classic Mini running into 2018, as well as a re-release of the NES Classic Mini (although I already own one of those, so I'll be passing).
