"Racism is as American as Baseball" -

Racists and conservatives almost never identify themselves as racists

Have you ever met a conservative that actually thinks of themselves as a racist? Think, guys.
Yes.

Very blatantly too.

"My parents raised me to avoid Black people and it's worked so far in keeping me out of trouble."

If you're a PoC that White people have identified as "an exception" compared to everyone else in your racial group, then you could navigate into White spaces where their racism is very self-aware.

Racists don't believe that racism actually exists (unless of course black people dare criticize white supremacy - that would be racism). I think the intent is pretty clear.

This isn't ambiguous at all, it's clearly anti-racism. Yeah, I know it's Boston, but it's very clearly calling out America's racist history.

As a non-American, I thought only the south was stereotyped as being racist. Why Boston?

The ambiguity leads me to believe this is them trying to get both sides worked up to turn this into a money maker for them.

What ambiguity? The people holding the banner aren't smiling, so I doubt this was any fun for them, and they were ejected almost immediately, which they probably expected.

The message is pretty clear: White people need to get over being "shocked by all the racism on display since Trump was elected." It has always been here, white people just have the luxury of forgetting about it or ignoring it when it suits them.

I assume this is pro racism and disagree wholeheartedly. Baseball was racist for a long ass time, and may still be a little, but I think the sport has made incredible strides, maybe more than most sports

I know nearly all racists reject the r word, but after the time i heard a pro-union pro-science young dude explode into n-bombs and racist tirades I've stopped making assumptions.

Boston has a long history of racism, much of it stemming from anti-busing riots in the 70's. It continues to be a very white city with an unfortunately large group of very vocal asshole racists.

Let's be clear - Boston has a problem with racism, but this sign isn't part of it.

Edit: just so I'm clear, I shouldn't have said the racism "stemmed" from the busing riots, more that the view of racism in Boston in modern times usually starts there, because it's such an obvious touchstone. There's been racism in Boston for as long as there's been Boston, I'm sure (which, again, is kind of the point these people were trying to make)

He wasn't alone.
Maybe they were just trying to get a hotdog and the dude was ignoring their section.

"Yo!, 2 dogs here!
OH FFS
I know something that'll get their attention"

people in the north and in predominantly liberal areas like to pretend racism is only in the south or at least much stronger, but it's pretty evenly distributed these days.

There is a history of racism there. We have racism all across the country but Boston was particularly bad for the more progressive areas of the country,

I meant calling out Boston in particular though.

Boston typically gets called out as the most racist city in the north.

Oh okay. I see it's pretty racially segregated as well.
