Really hard to argue with this after the latest trailer. Xenoblade 2 is also looking much better now, and also releases this year. They completely, absolutely and utterly stole 2017.
It's probably best to dial down expectations; this year is absolutely crazy and would be hard to top in the best of situations. Zelda is a game we've known for years, and there are no similarly long-known games lined up for 2018. Of course, Odyssey itself wasn't known before 2017, which is nothing short of a magician act...
I'd have to agree. I think 2018 will still be a great year, but to ask for a one-two Zelda-Mario bang again is greedy.
2019, though? Metroid Prime, Pokémon, BOTW spin-off, an IP revitalization, and a new surprise are all very high possibilities.
