Hearthstone |OT10| Ultimate Infuriation

I was able to hit legend with miracle rogue last month pretty easy but this month I'm stuck around rank 3-4. People have gotten better and aren't making as many mistakes in the matchup. Tried several variations and nothing really helped. Really sucks that Valeera is the only DK that doesn't anything to immediately effect to the board state.

So I switched to the quest druid I saw Dog playing with and immediately got 5 straight wins at rank 4. Pretty hilarious that a deck like that can beat aggro. Seems like you can just make a druid deck with ramp+UI+spreading plague and then throw whatever you want in and you can win games.

You can think of Valeera as casting Frost Nova when you play her. ;)

Miracle Rogue list?

A real frost Nova would actually be good...not one where they can trade minions

The Shell of the deck is mr yaguts and I swap out a few things depending on matchups I'm seeing. I.E. sometimes 2 saps(for pally) and 1 vilespine or Hydra instead of questing (had good success vs jade that way).

So a question that's bugged me

Does Stonehill Defender tend to pull taunt creatures form your class? Like for example, when I play a pally(The deck I use it in), it always pulls out Pally taunts.

Yes, it's like that for all discover cards. The mechanic has a class bonus built in.

Discover also doesn't pull cards from other classes, either. So a Paladin will only see Paladin and Neutral taunts.

Huh. SO it'd have to be like that 2 cost card that specifically says 'discover Hunter/Warrior/Paladin' card in order to pull a card from another class? Interesting. I never realized that.

opponent down to 4 cards, in fatigue, no borad and dead on the next turn I'm at a comfortable health total.

HP, Velen, HP, Pint Sized, HP, Mindblast, HP for exact lethal.

Turns out comfortable life total is above 24.

Is it?

HP, Velen, HP, Radiant, HP, Holy Smite, HP, Mind Blast, HP
2 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 10 + 4 = 32

also works with mirage caller and 0 mana cards in that case my opponent already burned radiant elemental and holy smite.

I'm not yet used to them playing mind blast. Just like Mark of the Lotus weirds me out in Jade Druid.

I wasn't used for mark of the lotus in jade druid, but after seeing how well it performs, I run 2 of those always. Its a hell of a difference trying to deal with a 6 health jade behemoth vs a 7 health (and priests just cries with that 4 attack)

Not even mentioning a strong spreading plague + mark of the lotus or the other wild convinations. Being a 1 mana spell makes it extremely flexible (the downside is fatigue because of geist)

what did you cut, are you not playing doomsayers?

I got my first 12 wins in Knights of the Frozen Throne with Druid. My previous best was 11 wins with Priest. I even managed to win 12-1, a new personal record for me. I was carried by insane topdecks and 2 x Ultimate Infestation and lot of poisonous minions. Not even double spikeridged steed could stop me.
There are a lot of paladins at high win numbers. Not so much mages though. 2 Times I was in top deck war against paladins.
My most hated cards in arena are bonemare and cobalt scalebane. I don't like the design of these 2 win-more-cards. If you have a board, they almost carry you to your victory, if you have no board and are behind, they will do nothing to save you.

I think I want to try an evolve shaman next month. I was watching the games yesterday, and noticed it looks cool. Is it as fun as DK Rexxar?

------

Also, it's good to have a soft reset of the meta halfway through the expansion. It allows KFT cards another chance to shine. I feel overall MSG has the most presence, although maybe it's because everyone's using patches.

Yeah I'm not playing those. Usually bad against everything not aggro. The downside of that is that I'm more prone to aggro, but since those are being weakened, I'm not that bothered.
I'm just not seeing what matchups it improves.
Doomsayer is a dead card mostly against priest and exodia mage. Any other matchup you can get it off by combining it with spreading plague even in the late game.
It's our last refuge against Priest.
Until they find room for eater of secrets.

Quest mage threw game not seeing lethal without antonidas. He probably didn't even consider it because he had another ice block. And then the rogue popped it (third ice block) and played deathknight valeera and won the game. LMAO.

The quest mage had lethal just playing 4 sorc apprentice, another turn and pyro + frost bolt. But he didn't see it or consider it and just lost to deathknight valeera top deck lmao.

They just one upped the match you're talking about. This quest mage mirror is bewildering. Dude just pissed through his entire partial combo while missing 1 Apprentice and Antonidas.

Caster "should cycle silence because it has no use in the match up"

Very next turn: blakers frost nova and plays doomsayer

Like seriously, the caster has access to both hands. He can see a doomsayer and frost nova in opponent's hand. Yet thinks they should waste silence to get a random card off lyra. Not even a mention

Yeah, that was just straight up mistakes there.

All 3 games of Tarei vs Blakers have been different forms of clown shoes so far. I want these two to play forever. Lyra sticking forever, Priest randomly FFA into Y'shaarj and then also getting an Antonidas, but Y'shaarj pulls a Doomsayer. Then another FFA into Noggenfogger.

Edit: Now the casters are just clowning on them. "It feels like neither player wants to win this series." Game 4 inc! Hope this goes all the way to game 5.

Edit 2: Game 5! Highlander priest teched vs Jade gets Jade Idol. Jade druid uses both idols to summon jades instead of going infinite jade to play around skulking geist. But now...priest doesn't have to play geist and could *theoretically* get infinite jades and out-jade the jade druid. This is my everything.

At least this series shows that skill is important in Hearthstone, even if that skill is simply who makes the least amount of misplays.

Finally had a decent arena run again (8 wins). Used Druid. Last 3 games were against other Druids, lol. Guess what card we all had, which determined the outcome of each game depending on who played it first?

I have been playing against nothing but priests in Wild and it doesn't seems it's getting better.

Kill me yesterday.

Outside of OTK decks and lucky aggro steamroll, the only answer I've found is to play decks with Deathlord or Dirty Rat, and hope that they pull Raza. Most Priests concede on the spot.

You don't want that card to be printed. Jade druid just got to spam Jade Idols even faster.
Battlecries aren't persistent effects. Against Jade Druid, this would make Jade Idol their next draw, but then the shuffle would be randomly inserted into their deck.

Thatsadmirable just called a misplay a brilliant play. The pwar silenced the righteous protector instead of the BOK on vilefin and then attacked into noble sacrifice. "Brilliant play"

Several turns later after he lost, admirable finally admits he called it wrong.

Funny how "brilliant play' turned into a "oh in hindsight he should have done X", no... it was obvious he made a bad play assuming it wasn't noble sacrifice.

Purple made it yay. Maybe NA has a chance against EU this time.

I want salt kid to make it too, that would be interesting with Pavel in there again.

Just got the most insane lethal on this turn. Do you see it? My opponent is 1 card into fatigue, and I got the best possible 1 mana Kazakus potion on this boardstate at this stage of the game.

So pinging before and after card played, I potion of madnessed the radiant elemental, played Kazakus and took deal 3 damage, deal 2 to all minions which I targeted face then holy novaed to draw him two cards, hit face with both of my minions, and the last ping was exactly lethal.

Feeling super good that I saw the lethal potential and had the APM to pull it off. Took me til the end of the rope because of the speed of animation. I doubt I win if I don't pull it off because he heals so much from PoTF.

So if everyone is going to be playing Raza Priest tomorrow , greedy decks should be able to farm them pretty hard right?

With the top aggro decks getting nerfed I think running a greedy deck with a lot of big stuff and/or healing would pose a problem for them no?

In the last two days, this amazing little lady has milled three Death Knights, 2 Razas and 1 Antonidas. I am really enjoying play this card.

I really think Warlock is going to rise up tomorrow if Quest Mage and Shit Priest are highly played

Raza priest can out greed most other decks if they so choose.

Warlock stays bottom, guaranteed.

Raza Priest is the ultimate greed deck that also beats aggro most of the time.

Velen allows for an OTK combo, so they don't really care about healing. Even if they did care about that, a deck filled with healing is going to lose against everything else in the meta outside of Raza Priest. lol You have to win the game somehow!

Raza Priest plays ALL of the Priest clears, so they don't care about big stuff any more than any other Priest deck does, and since they can do free 4-6 damage every turn with low effort, your board is never going to exist either.

Wow, Lurker disconnect plus misplay on defile cost him big. Feel bad for him, defile misplays are pretty common but to have it happen at such a high stakes moment was terrible.

The more and more I think about it, the more I think defile ends up being a good card in concept but a card that is just bad in practice. Playing Warlock over the last few days, I can't really count the amount of times that I had defile, and had a nice line up of X/3, X/4,... ect. (mostly against jade) but with no way to step up to the level it needs to actually get work done. In those cases it just ends up being a 2 mana, deal 1 to all worthless card.

Man, this is why I love playing this deck. Doesn't happen all the time, and I almost lost because the Druid had a Staghelm combo, followed by a misplay by me, but I got lucky and picked up a win on a later turn.

This is what will probably take me to 500 wins with Hunter.

I actually really like the Mill Warlock variant (I think Trump and some others have tried it), even though it is not Mill. It simply punishes decks that keep their hand full, and randomly removes a few cards along the way too. It is forcing the game to be played at a quicker pace - which Priest really does not like. Having Elise puts one card back into your deck, which can sometimes save you. Skulking punishes Priest, and Jade. Give Evolve Shaman hell too if you run into one. Early and late game board clears to tidy up the worst boards.

This is great IMO.
