Huge Marvel Comics Digital Sale on Amazon - lots of stuff 90% off

Brandon F

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Spent about $70 so far.

I haven't purchased a comic for years, but have been eyeing some of the newer Star Wars trades for the past couple years. Getting practically the entire 2015-2016 run for less than a new videogame to live on my Kindle app was kind of hard to pass up.

I also threw in for some of the X-Men recommendations, the Civil War run, the Infinity Gauntlet, Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel. Some others mentioned earlier I forget. Probably should get Vision since the thread is more insistent on it than anything. I'm working off blind recommendations really.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does the Kindle display color?

If you buy the kindle fire, the regular kindle does not
I would recommend the kindle 8 for viewing comics as the screen is bigger, though you could get away with a cheaper fire 7 inch screen, but its not as much room to read but does work for these (it has the amazon os you have to side lad google play and some apps)

The Kindle App absolutely does color on PC/Mac/iOS/Android/etc...

The physical Kindle device itself varies. Some Kindle models like the 'Fire' are color, while classic models or the 'Paper-white' are greyscale only.

Recently finished Hickman's Avengers/Secret Wars run and it's amazing. I recommend. Purchased the first Omnibus for a reread when the whole thing gets released. Picked up Avengers World this time around to fill in some side stories

Hey guys, thanks for all the suggestions in here (I second any rec for Hickman F4...I recommend his whole saga up to Secret Wars)

Do any if you guys have the reading order for Aaron's Thor? I've never read it and would like to- but at some point with all those Marvel relaunches it gets confusing. Or I'm dumb. Either way, thanks!

How is the Spider-Men mini-series?

Currently thinking of picking up:

Infinity Gauntlet
Secret Wars 2015
Civil War II
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man Vol 1 (to read up on some Miles Morales)
Possibly Spider-Men?

it seems spider man: grim hunt gives you a freebie after purchase, which i had known before buying Kraven's Last Hunt since it was the most expensive comic i purchased yesterday

Can I please be a responsible adult just this once?

Apparently I couldn't be. My CC was flagged for suspicious activity due to so many two and three dollar transactions!

I probably need to be stopped at this point; I'm starting to buy stuff I don't even like just to be able to read it (big, dumb events and the like).

I'm interested in Moon Knight. Are there any definitive runs/books I should check out?

I believe this is the seminal, original stuff. I like it, but I'm old, and can handle the jarring differences between comics made in the 70s and comics made today. YMMV:

If you want to just skip ahead to something more modern, the Warren Ellis series is good, if brief:

I only see 2 volumes? Is that correct? If so, buying now.

Yes most of the deals are in volumes which are collections of individual issues. What has been posted in this thread is the cover of a single issue (7 I believe)

Thanks. I don't really know where to start with the character or much about him. I just think he looks cool.

Yes that’s the series. That cover from before is just one of many that denote the different issues in the volume which collects the multiple issues i.e. the cover from before is the cover of issue 7

Awesome. Bought with the last of my pre-allocated $60 comic funds.

What's the best, new comic to get into? By new I mean still has issues coming out in 2017 and started in the last year or 2.

It’s a DC comic not Marvel but I’m in love with the current run of Mister Miracle. It’s by the same Tom King who wrote Vision

Marvel-wise, I’m enjoying Black Panther and the Crew

I'm partial to Squirrel Girl but that's a comedy.

In the last two years and is still ongoing? That's a tough one-other than Marvel constantly restarting their series at #1 that's a tough call.

Oh what a sale! I've picked up so much already thanks to recommendations in this thread. I haven't been keeping up with Marvel too much in quite awhile, so there is a lot I've missed.

If I can second a recommendation I've seen a couple others mention so far, then it would be to pick up Matt Fraction's run on Hawkeye. It's a fantastic run on a character that I previously never cared about.

This is my haul so far, but I'm still open to buying more if there are some really fantastic things that I'm missing.
Fantastic Four (Hickman's run)
FF
Dark Reign: Fantastic Four
Secret Wars
Vision (vol 1-2)
Ms Marvel (vol 1-5)
Moon Knight (vol 1-3)
Thor: God of Thunder (vol 1-4)
The Mighty Thor (Lady Thor)
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Beats up the Marvel Universe
Old Man Logan
Darth Vader
Black Panter (vol 1-3)

I'm strongly considering picking up the whole Ultimate Spiderman run. On one hand I don't want to spend another $50, but on the other hand, that's a whole lot of comic a hugely discounted price.

Cool. Got the recent Start Wars collections that hadn't released yet during the last sale.

I love these sales, but they've definitely conditioned me to wait for all comic purchases.

To get hype for the movie, don't read the story Marvel just took the name from. Read Hickman's Avengers along with the Infinity event.

Maybe Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos Quest if you want Thanos stories.

Raging Spaniard

If they are Dutch, upright and breathing they are more racist than your favorite player
Bought a ... bunch of stuff. Last thing Im waffling on is the Mockingbirds volumes. y/n?

Yeah, I think this is the best way to go about it but I would definitely recommend Thanos Quest and Infinity Gauntlet.

The storyline from the film won't be a 1:1 from the comics.

Thanos Quest / Infinity Gauntlet is an older story about Thanos getting the gems and the craziness that he can do with them.

But the more recent Infinity is a more modern story that will most likely reflect the film in tone. It also introduces Thanos's minions that will be in the movie.

Okay, went back to the wallet, here's what I've got

Waid's Fantastic Four 1-3
Dark Reign: Fantastic Four
Hickman's Fantastic Four 1-6
Hickman's FF 1-4
Gwenpool, The Unbelievable 1-3
Ms. Marvel 1-4
Marvel 1872
Marvel 1602
Secret Wars (2015)
Wolverine: Old Man Logan
Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Beats Up the Marvel Universe
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe
Deadpool: The Adamantium Collection
Vision 1-2

Edit: Done

I really need to get a tablet. Reading these on my laptop and TV (through the PS4) just won't cut it.

Yes! The tablet was matchmade for digital comics and any sort of digital reading. And if you just plan on doing some reading and general browsing with it you can get an older one on the cheap.

I still have $11 left on my Amazon account, so I was wondering if anyone had any Spider-Man or Deadpool recommendations for $10 or less. (have to draw the line now, can't add any more money lol). I spent a lot on this sale, but it was the money I was going to use to buy Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, so whatever.

I grabbed the Deadpool adamantium collection someone posted earlier. 5 bucks but it does contain Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe which you have. Five bucks tho! I should think about grabbing a run of Spiderman though. Last ones I swear, wallet. Promise.

Fuck, that Deadpool collection is perfect. Went ahead and bought the Vision books mentioned above too. I'm done!

Buying Vision, Infinity Gauntlet, All the Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel 1-4 and Thor 2-4. I'm not really a huge Marvel fan but all of these have great recommendations so I feel good about it. Also, Ryan North is an amazing writer and this is a great chance to catch up.

Should I pick up Old Man Logan if I'm coming in without any prior knowledge? Lemire never disappoints.

Anyone please?

X-Men Blue and X-Men Gold volumes 1 aren't on MU yet and seem to be in this.

The original Alias Series, and Vol 1 of the new Jessica Jones series, aren't on MU as they're MAX titles and are unlikely to be added, and they are all pretty cheap here too.
