Does anyone else use Bing rewards and recently get an email about a Microsoft gift card deal to use towards a pre-order? It has terrible wording but seems to imply you can get 30% off some form of gift card for the online store. I clicked the link but it just takes me to my rewards page after the quiz.

Quoting myself here because I think I figured it out. They just added a new form of currency to the Bing Rewards > Redeem page today, Microsoft gift cards. They behave exactly the same way that Xbox/Windows store cards do in that they work on the online/Win10/Xbox stores.

I'm betting they'll make it fully active tomorrow so you get a $10 "Microsoft card" for 7000 points if you take the quiz. Certainly won't help me afford the One X, but it means I should be able to get another free game or two for my Xbox!

Edit: Finally got it to work and it's just for a $5 gift card. Still not bad but definitely not as good of a deal as I had hoped.

I don't understand ditching a limited edition version for the plain version. Either way though they'll probably be inside a cabinet and you won't notice the difference.

It's pretty meaningless either way. Think back on any console or special edition you've owned, to me, none of them matter after years have past. I always think like that now, did it matter that I got that Crystal Xbox or PS2 LE, GameCube. No, not all and I own none of them now!. Xbox One X, S in grey, Scorpio, PS4 Glacier white, MGS, whatever. They will all be forgotten when the next new thing comes out.

Each to their own of course. Enjoy what you get.

I dont mind the color of the Scorpio Edition just dont really like the green wording on the controller itself. With how the controller is made to me the Scorpio Edition branding looks off center.

I'm keeping mine! *raises hand* I think its a fun concept, and I love the throwback box.

I do like the clean elegance of the standard, for sure. But hey, its just a game console, and its not overly decorative to the point that I'll get tired of it, like a lot of special editions.

Yes and no. They "pre-authorize" your card for the full amount, which does restrict you from spending the money. It also means that if you don't have that much available to spend, they'll cancel the order.

They do not fully charge your card until the order ships though.

To be clear, the preauth will fall off in a day or two.

Oh I love my Elite controller and use that 90% of the time.

I just seem to have a little OCD and that lettering looking off center bugs me.

Side note about Elite controllers my local WalMart was selling Elites on clearance for $99 and the Razer Wildcat for $49. Grabbed an extra Elite and 2 Razers.

I love my Elite Controller, haven't had any problems with it. I'd probably get another one if they came out with a new one and put the 3.5mm headphone jack on it.

That’s the same issue I had. I tried to ignore it, but it just wasn’t my taste with the green text. Hopefully, someone who will appreciate it got my preorder after I canceled.

Nah went off the design and controller text quick, standard looks much better. Plus for an extra 50 quid I got Evil Within 2 and forza 7. Good deal.

I use the tuner as well. No way we lose that functionality. They have said all accessories will work.

Yes, every peripheral for the Xbox One is compatible with the X.

Well I'm definitely keeping my Scorpio edition for the gaming room. Personally love it's look. Will eventually get a standard one to replace the other S in the bedroom.

I don't like the idea of a bridge console between two generations. For the same reason I also do not like the PS4 Pro. It's a too expensive update.

I have a really dumb question. I won one of these from the taco bell contest but I haven't followed the news on this thing at all. I have a really awful tv (I think 720p is it's max resolution) and can't really justify getting a new TV for a bunch of boring reasons. I also already have an xbox one as well. Is there any real advantage to me getting this?
